Chapter 243: Distraction

Lily took a deep breath, letting the tension of the past few days melt away in Cage’s embrace. After a few moments, she pulled back and managed a small smile. "Thank you, Cage. I needed this."

"Anytime," he replied, his voice soft yet reassuring. "Now, let’s get you something to drink. How about some tea?"

Lily nodded, appreciating the simple gesture. She followed Cage into the kitchen, feeling a strange mix of excitement and nervousness. They had just started seeing each other, and there was so much she still didn’t know about him.

As Cage prepared the tea, Lily leaned against the counter, watching him work. "So, Mr. Cage, what exactly do you do when you’re not rescuing damsels in distress?"

Cage chuckled, glancing over his shoulder at her. "You know I’m a lawyer. Mostly corporate law, but I handle some pro bono cases too. It keeps me busy."

"Hmmmm—I see." Lily’s eyes sparkled with mischief. "I bet you have all kinds of interesting cases."

"You could say that," Cage replied, setting a steaming cup of tea in front of her. "But I’d rather hear about you. What do you do for fun when you’re not dealing with the media circus?"

Lily took a sip of her tea, savoring the warmth. "Oh, you know, the usual. Shopping, parties, teasing handsome lawyers..."

Cage raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "Teasing, huh? Is that what you’re doing now?"

"Maybe," Lily said, her voice light and teasing. "What if I am?"

"Then I guess I’ll just have to endure it," Cage said, leaning against the counter next to her. "But fair warning, I’m not easily distracted."

"We’ll see about that," Lily said with a grin. She took another sip of her tea, then set the cup down. With a mischievous gleam in her eye, she reached out and playfully tugged at Cage’s shirt. "Tell me more about your work. What’s the most interesting case you’ve ever handled?"

Cage chuckled, taking her teasing in stride. "Let’s see... I once defended a small business owner against a huge corporation trying to push them out. It was a tough case, but we won."

"A corporate David versus Goliath," Lily’s eyes widened in surprise. "Now that’s intriguing. Did you have any dramatic courtroom moments?"

"Plenty," Cage said, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "But I’m sworn to confidentiality. Professional ethics, you know."

Lily pouted playfully. "Oh, come on. Not even a hint?"

Cage shook his head, laughing. "Sorry, not even a hint."

Lily sighed dramatically, but her smile betrayed her amusement. "Fine, I’ll let it go. For now."

"Much appreciated," Cage said, his smile softening. "But seriously, Lily, I want to know more about you. What makes you tick?"

Lily hesitated for a moment, then decided to open up a bit. "Well, I’ve always loved fashion. Designing clothes, picking out the perfect outfit, it’s like a form of art for me. But lately, it’s been hard to enjoy it with all the drama."

Cage nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I get that. It’s tough when something you love gets overshadowed by negativity."

"Exactly," Lily said, feeling understood. "But being here with you, it helps. Makes me feel like I can breathe again."

"I’m glad," Cage said softly. "You deserve to enjoy the things you love without all the stress."

Lily smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her. "Thank you, Cage. You really are something special."

Cage reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "So are you, Lily. And I think we’re just getting started."

The playful banter and shared smiles made the world outside seem distant and unimportant. In that moment, they were just two people getting to know each other, and it felt perfect.

As Cage returned to his work, typing away on his laptop, Lily couldn’t resist a bit more teasing. She moved behind him, peeking over his shoulder. "What are you working on now?"

"Just reviewing some case files," Cage replied, not missing a beat. "Careful, you might distract me."

"Is that a challenge?" Lily asked, her voice light and teasing.

"Maybe," Cage said with a grin. "Think you can handle it?"

Lily laughed, leaning in closer. "Oh, I think I can handle it just fine."

With a playful wink, she gently blew on his ear, causing him to chuckle and shake his head. "Okay, okay, you win. I surrender."

Lily giggled, feeling a sense of victory. "See? I knew I could distract you."

Cage turned to face her, his eyes full of affection. "You definitely have a way of doing that, Lily. And I wouldn’t have it any other way."

As their eyes locked, the playful atmosphere shifted to something more intense. Cage reached out, gently cupping Lily’s face in his hands. "You really are something special," he murmured, his voice low and tender. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

Lily’s breath caught in her throat as she gazed up at him, her heart pounding. "Cage..."

Before she could say anything more, Cage leaned in, closing the distance between them. His lips met hers in a soft, lingering kiss that sent shivers down her spine. Lily melted into the kiss, her hands finding their way to his shoulders, pulling him closer.

The kiss deepened, growing more passionate as Cage wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight. Lily’s fingers threaded through his hair, her body pressing against his as the world around them seemed to disappear.

Cage’s kisses were firm and insistent, making her feel like she was the only person in the world. He tilted his head slightly, deepening the kiss even further. Lily responded eagerly, her lips parting to allow him to explore her mouth with his tongue. The sensation was intoxicating, and she couldn’t get enough.

They moved together in perfect sync, their kisses growing more urgent and heated. Cage’s hands roamed down her back, pulling her even closer as if he couldn’t bear to have any space between them. Lily moaned softly against his lips, the sound driving Cage wild.

Cage broke the kiss for a moment, his breathing ragged. He gazed into Lily’s eyes, his expression filled with desire and affection. "Lily," he whispered, his voice husky. "You have no idea how much I want you right now."

Lily’s heart soared at his words, and she pulled him back in for another kiss, her passion matching his. They stumbled slightly, their lips never parting as they moved toward the couch. Cage guided her down gently, their bodies entwining as they continued to make out, lost in the heat of the moment.

Lily’s hands explored Cage’s back, feeling the muscles beneath his shirt. She could feel his heart racing just as fast as hers, and it thrilled her to know that she was the cause. Cage’s kisses trailed down her neck, sending sparks of pleasure through her body.

They finally pulled away, both of them breathless and flushed. Cage looked at Lily, his eyes filled with a mix of affection and desire. "I think we might need to take a break," he said with a chuckle, his voice still rough with emotion. "Or we won’t get any work done today."

Lily laughed, the sound light and carefree. "I guess you’re right. But that was definitely worth the distraction."
