The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 683 - 702: For the Truth (2)
Camden River pressed his thin lips together, lifted his gaze to survey the area, and then saw Talia Tong standing up.
She ascended the steps.
When she arrived in front of him, he didn’t make a fuss and sat directly on the steps.
Talia Tong sat down too.
Camden River clasped his hands together once, tilted his head to look at her, sighed, and spoke: "I specifically came to apologize to you. What happened last night was my fault; I shouldn’t have kissed you. I was a bit impulsive at the time. I’m sorry."
"I don’t blame you," Talia Tong chuckled self-deprecatingly, "I did it willingly."
She spoke frankly, and Camden River’s expression froze for a moment. He didn’t speak, just looked clear-eyed at the distance.
"Are you back with Windsor Myres?" Talia Tong asked him.
"I am." Camden River’s voice was calm.
"Why?"
"I don’t know why either," Camden River murmured. "I used to think everything in this world had a reason, but now I feel it’s not true. Many things in this world have no reason at all, and not only that, they don’t make sense, like emotions."
"Do you love her?" Talia Tong whispered again.
"Probably," Camden River withdrew his gaze, looked at her, and smiled.
Talia Tong bit her lip, unable to speak.
Seeing her expression, Camden River suddenly felt a little compassionate and said gently, "I understand how you feel, but like I said before, emotions don’t have reasons or logic. It’s not that you’re not good enough, understand? Don’t focus on me. It’s not worth it, a guy who doesn’t cherish you. You don’t need to dwell on him, and be sad over it."
"I understand all of this." Talia Tong pursed her lips a bit, feeling aggrieved, "But I can’t do it."
"Then try to divert your attention a bit." Camden River couldn’t help but smile.
Talia Tong looked at his smile, and her grievances seemed to suddenly dissipate.
In her memory, Camden River actually seldom smiled.
Now—
Seeing him smile, she felt the grievances she suffered were worth it.
She liked seeing him smile. If he can always smile so easily, she actually doesn’t mind.
The pain given by Windsor Myres didn’t matter, nor did the bitterness of such a long time matter. A single word from Camden River was more important than hundreds or thousands from others. She was willing to strive for him, willing to change for him, anything was fine as long as he asked.
Talia Tong’s lips couldn’t help but curve, "I’ll do my best."
"Hmm." Camden River breathed a sigh of relief.

Mia Ginger left the sports field.
Soon, she arrived under the dorm building. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
From afar, she saw Louis Cox standing on the steps waiting for her.
They’d just met last night.
She was quite surprised, taking a step forward, puzzled, "Looking for me?"
"I missed you, came over to see you." Louis Cox stepped down the stairs, reached her, raised his hand to ruffle her hair, but suddenly withdrew it, his fingers slightly curled.
Mia Ginger naturally noticed his little gesture, and she paused for a moment.
After a while, she looked up and said, "Well, I haven’t eaten yet, invite me to dinner."
"What do you want to eat?" Louis Cox immediately cheered up.
"Hmm." Mia Ginger tilted her head a bit to think, "I’m very hungry, just want a bowl of noodles. Let’s eat noodles."
"You let me treat you, yet you just want a bowl of noodles?" Louis Cox furrowed his brows, speaking irritably, "No need to save money for me."
"Who said it’s to save money for you, let’s go."
"Biking is faster."
