The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 206: No One but Maya Monroe Is Fit for the Leading Role
Once this collaboration is successful, Yvonne Hall will have even more substantial capital. Her goal has never been to stay at home quietly and be a housewife, that’s too unrealistic and doesn’t suit her at all...
With huge temptation in front of her, she had no reason to convince herself not to use Maya Monroe as the leading actress in "Mirror".
Yvonne Hall steadily put down the cup in her hand, watching the deep coffee slightly ripple, releasing gentle steam.
She was really curious, she truly didn’t expect Maya Monroe to have such charm, enough to make Ian Rowe go to so much trouble.
Yvonne lifted her head, her flawless face showing no flaws: "In that case, will you still insist on your standpoint?"
"The facts are already in front of us. Not to mention Maya Monroe just walked around the audition site, even if she came just for a vacation, we would welcome her with a smile."
All the judges remained silent; in fact, they had nothing left to argue about.
Who would want to oppose a big shot for no reason? In this circle, money and power surpass everything, and they fully understand the rules of survival.
Yvonne’s face once again showed a smile, her lips slightly curved, revealing a pretty good mood:
"In that case, our female lead can be decided, the role of ’Jane Jennings’ is none other than Maya Monroe!"
Her gaze finally landed on the audition information displayed on the computer screen, where Maya Monroe’s name stood out.
Yvonne held some subtle hopes in her heart, for some reason, she always felt Maya Monroe wouldn’t let her down like this...
*
After the audition ended, Maya Monroe spent a few leisurely days.
The day of the audition seemed to have caused Ryan Spencer a significant misunderstanding, as he had always believed Maya Monroe was practically guaranteed to win the audition, and his attitude towards her improved. He even relaxed some restrictions regarding bubble tea and cola for her.
Maya sipped the bubble tea that Scott bought, not intending to explain, she was happy to let Ryan continue his misunderstanding.
Her life is actually quite amusing, like the game in front of her. Although Vincent Summers called them dull and childish, she didn’t care and continued playing after giving him a scolding.
Suddenly, a message popped up that Maya was about to swipe open, but she caught the nickname on it.
She hadn’t seen a message from Monica Jacobs in a long time, or maybe Monica rarely sent her messages. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Thinking of Monica’s gentle and doting face, she would always pause a moment.
Perhaps, for a part of one’s deepest desires, no one can remain indifferent.
She slightly closed her eyes, envisioning another beautiful, gentle face with the same smiling warmth...
This is something she can never refuse.
It wasn’t until the phone in her hand dropped to the floor with a dull thud that Maya snapped back to reality.
She was about to bend down to pick it up when she saw another hand had already grabbed it and placed it securely back in her hand.
Maya’s fingers clasped the phone, but her gaze lingered on the face before her.
"Serena Sawyer..."
"Didn’t expect you’d still remember me." Serena Sawyer gently sighed, "Why are you sitting here in the lobby? It’s so noisy, always unsettling."
Her hair was jet black and hung like a waterfall; her smile wasn’t too broad but gave a feeling of warmth.
Maya adjusted her slouching posture slightly, making room beside her and patted the spot next to her: "Sit."
Serena didn’t hesitate and sat down directly.
"Are you waiting for Ryan Spencer?"
Maya slightly nodded, "Where’s your bodyguard? I don’t see your assistant either."
Serena chuckled lightly, and Maya noticed the dimples at the corners of her mouth, like a pool full of spring water, suddenly so gentle: "I sneaked out myself for a look and will go back soon."
"I heard you participated in the ’Mirror’ audition."
Maya raised an eyebrow slightly, "Didn’t expect you to be so interested in me."
"’Mirror’ is a good choice; I’ll also be playing a role in it." Serena extended her hand, "Looking forward to working with you."
Maya lowered her eyes and shook her hand.
No wonder all the villains in the books like to "collude" with each other; perhaps there’s some magnetic attraction.
Serena stared at Maya’s face for about three seconds: "This role won’t be easy for you."
Maya chuckled but didn’t reply.
In reality, they have no chance to collaborate, and it’s not surprising at all to see Serena in "Mirror" since in the script, this was Kiki Monroe and Serena Sawyer’s first showdown. When they first met, things didn’t go well, and the ambitious Kiki soon listed Serena as an adversary and target, leading to their unfolding conflict...
Serena’s gaze shifted, landing on the bubble tea to Maya’s right, speaking with interest: "Is this yours?"
"Would you like a cup?" Maya just asked casually.
Serena shook her head, laughing, "You enjoy it; my stomach isn’t great, afraid I can’t handle it."
Maya nodded slightly.
"It seems to be almost time." Serena elegantly rose, slightly lowering her gaze, "This time, the schedule’s pretty tight; let’s continue next time we meet."
Maya calculated Ryan Spencer’s return time in her mind, casually nodding: "See you next time."
Near noon, Ryan invited Maya for a meal, but she uncharacteristically declined: "Not this time, I need to go back home."
Ryan teased smilingly, "Does Mr. Rowe miss you?"
"No, back to the Monroe Family."
Ryan paused, then said: "Alright, but there’s an event at four in the afternoon, manage your time."
Maya nodded.
"I’ll have Scott and the others drive you back, to avoid getting mobbed on the way."
"Okay."
*
Maya’s gaze was fixed outside the window, watching one after another of greenery fly by, turning into a blur of green shadows.
Scott’s voice sounded: "Sister Maya, we’re here. Do you need me to carry your bag?"
"No need."
Maya stepped down from the car after replying.
The guard at the door was thrilled to see Maya, ushering her into the villa almost instantly.
Maya’s eyes roamed over the familiar yet strange buildings, the fountains, the sculptures...
She hadn’t even walked into the living room when she was hugged by the excited Monica Jacobs.
"My sweetie, you’ve finally come back!"
Behind her, Kiki Monroe instantly showed an indignant look; Maya was already an adult, and Monica still called her that way, never tiring of it...
Feeling the warmth of the hug, Maya didn’t forget to look at the people behind Monica.
Jasper Monroe, Kiki Monroe... conveniently, also Leo Lancaster and Joel Quinn...
