Maya reached into her pocket and stuffed in a handful of beef chunks.
The amount was just right; if there were too much, it might spill out, or the show crew might confiscate it, which would be a loss.
Ensuring that both of her pockets were filled with snacks, Maya clapped her hands in satisfaction.
Finally, Maya picked up the nearly empty suitcase, looked at it disdainfully, but didn’t put it down.
If she didn’t bring anything at all, it might arouse suspicion from others due to the anomaly.
Maya carried the suitcase downstairs and ran into Mrs. Wang, who had just finished making soup, in the living room.
"Ma’am, are you going out with that suitcase?"
Maya nodded: "I’m going to be on a variety show again, won’t be back today. Just let Ian know."
Mrs. Wang frowned slightly, looking a bit troubled: "Sir doesn’t know? How long will you be gone, ma’am?"
Maya thought about it: "Three or four days, maybe. I forgot to tell him, just let him know later."
After all, she felt invisible to Ian here, and he probably didn’t care where she went or when she’d return.
Mrs. Wang hesitated for a moment: "Ma’am, why don’t you send Mr. Rowe a message? He cares so much about you; sending him a message might help improve your relationship."
Maya squinted her eyes slightly: "What do you mean, Mrs. Wang? Ian and I have such a good relationship, do I really need to send a special text to maintain it?"
Actually, it was because she was too lazy to send one.
If she could talk her way out, she definitely wouldn’t lift a finger.
Maya’s maneuver certainly startled Mrs. Wang to no small extent.
Mrs. Wang quickly waved her hands: "That’s not what I meant at all; it’s my fault for talking too much. You go ahead and get busy, ma’am. Do you need a driver to take you?"
"Someone’s picking me up outside, I’m off."
When Maya saw Ryan in the RV, she wasn’t surprised at all—Ryan had been keeping a close eye on her lately, almost as if an incident would happen the second she stepped out of his sight.
Ryan got out first and reached for Maya’s suitcase: "Not too late today, that’s progress."
Ryan knew Maya was never punctual, and nowadays he would notify her of work in advance.
Maya never paid attention to her own work, so she hadn’t noticed what Ryan was doing.
This approach did help a bit, but not with mornings, since Maya woke up so late that most of the time she’d still be late.
Seeing Ryan’s hand reaching out, Maya instinctively took a step back with the suitcase.
She wasn’t exactly an open book, and now she was slightly guilty.
Her movements were slight, fearing that her treasures in the pocket might fall out.
Ryan’s hand stopped midair, and he frowned: "What are you dodging for? I’m not going to steal your suitcase, I’m just helping you put it up."
Maya coughed a couple of times, declaring openly: "It’s full of snacks I love, and I just enjoy carrying it myself. Ryan, please bear with me."
This was the most suitable explanation; if she said the suitcase was too heavy and afraid of tiring Ryan, it wouldn’t be very convincing, so saying this instead suited her personality and actions.
When it came to anything related to "food" or "snacks," Maya’s mind worked quicker.
As expected, Ryan didn’t insist on helping her carry the suitcase; instead, he chuckled lightly: "Oh, Maya, if only you could put the same energy you have for snacks into your career, you’d be holding numerous awards by now!"
Maya smiled without saying anything.
Ryan shook his head again with a light sigh, watching Maya place the suitcase in the van as if she were putting a treasure in.
The car drove to the location designated by the Great Survival Challenge crew.
As Maya stepped down from the vehicle, Ryan reminded her: "You have gone through the materials I prepared for you, right?"
Maya lied without even batting an eye: "I stayed up all night to finish them."
Ryan felt a bit reassured and patted her shoulder: "Not bad, not bad, I believe you’ll do well!"
Maya nodded again.
"There’s a high chance we might be heading to a rainforest; remember what I told you before."
"Huh?"
Tropical rainforest?
Ryan frowned slightly, feeling an ominous sense: "Didn’t I write it in the file? It clearly highlighted potential destinations and corresponding measures. Maya, you wouldn’t be..."
"No way." Maya quickly cut him off: "I was just wondering why you seemed so certain all of a sudden; I thought it was already decided."
Seeing her expression didn’t look fake, Ryan felt reassured again: "I was just mentioning possibilities like uninhabitable forests, deserts or canyons..."
As words continued to spill from Ryan’s mouth, Maya’s face grew increasingly unpleasant.
Forests... deserts... canyons... what the hell are these!!
Ryan seemed to realize the topic had become too intense, so he patted Maya’s shoulder to encourage her: "Don’t be so afraid; the show isn’t pure entertainment, but it’s definitely not a cruel documentary—most of the atmosphere is set by the crew."
Maya went along with Ryan’s words: "Ryan, I’m really a bit scared; what if we encounter tigers or wild beasts... I can’t outrun them, what then? Should we really just rush to our deaths? No amount of popularity is worth it if you aren’t alive to enjoy it, I say..."
Maya clenched her fist and coughed lightly before saying what she really wanted: "This damn show isn’t worth the trouble!"
Ryan sighed: "I know you’ve been spoiled growing up and can’t handle hardship, but the show isn’t long; endure a little and earn some popularity, why not? And about the man-eating tigers..."
Ryan couldn’t help but laugh: "Don’t worry, the crew will take care of everything before the show starts. Ever thought the places you’re going to are within a safe zone set by the crew, a place where they have full control?"
Maya pouted: "Better safe than sorry—what if something happens!"
"Just put your mind at ease; the crew has thoroughly prepared everything."
Maya had no way to counter Ryan, so she grudgingly agreed with a hum, looking no bit pleased.

When Maya entered the room arranged by the crew, the other guests had already arrived.
The cameras were still set up, indicating the live broadcast had resumed once again.
