The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 47: Ch : Preparation - Part 2

Things calmed down once Ben gave Theo the medicine and Theo went to sleep. I wanted to visit Theo as well, but both Ben and Emma reminded me that it wouldn’t be a good idea.

As a beta-alpha couple, these two knew about the nuisances of the alpha-omega cycle better than anyone else.

So I went to sleep early that night and decided to get my much-needed rest.

Due to going to bed early, I woke up early as well, and I decided to look around. When I went to the kitchen, I heard someone talking in the other corridor and decided to listen in.

"-Be careful. If you need anything, call me."

"I will. Thank you for looking after me."

Those voices belonged to Theo and Ben, and I immediately wanted to show up and meet Theo. But I held myself back as I recalled what happened the last time I was with him.

"Is there anything you want me to tell Kyle while you are away?"

Ben asked, and my body jerked as soon as I heard my name. I was paying full attention now because I wanted to hear what Theo had to say about me.

There was silence for a minute before Theo spoke up.

"No, it’s alright. Whatever I want to tell Kyle, I will tell him myself. There is no need for you to get involved."

Theo assured Ben before I heard the sound of a car honk and Theo’s footsteps.

I could not tell why I was so sure that it was Theo who left, but my instincts knew. So I decided to come out once I was sure the alpha was gone.

Ben noticed me and looked startled. Then he rubbed his forehead, likely to get rid of the headache that was forming.

"You have good timing. Thankfully, you only arrived now, after Theo is gone. The situation could have gotten ugly if he smelled your pheromones. You need to be more careful, Kyle."

Ben warned me, and I wondered what Theo would have said had he known I was here from the beginning?

’Likely not much...’

"I came here to get a glass of water to drink. Were you bidding Theo goodbye? Did he leave?"

I asked, even though I already knew the answer.

"Yes. Theo is gone for a while, so you don’t need to worry about him. Emma and I will be leaving around 10 as well. What about you?"

Ben asked, and I recalled the contents of the message Joshua had sent me.

"I will leave around 7....what time is it now?"

The clock said 5, so I had two more hours before I had to leave.

Now, I could use those two hours to sleep, but I knew that if I went to sleep, I wouldn’t be able to wake up in time.

"Let me go and freshen up. Then, I can help you around with other things until I have to leave."

Ben did not say anything, so I went to my room.

I did not need to pack anything since I had the system and the inventory, but I did need to pretend to be a civilian, so I packed a small bag.

"Hey, human....is it finally daytime? Are we leaving?"

The black mass in the bottle I kept on my nightstand decided to wake up just in time, and I grabbed it as well.

It had been sleeping ever since I gave it the sleeping powder, so I had almost forgotten about it. But thankfully, it reminded me of its presence.

"Don’t worry. I am taking you with me to dungeon #36. But don’t think I am doing this for fun. You are going to show me around and tell me what secrets that place hides."

I told the black mass and waited for it to insult me and say it wouldn’t cooperate.

But instead of hearing threats back, all I heard was a cheerful voice.

"Of course, human. If that is what you want, then I will help you out with it. Just tell me anything and I will help you out."

I almost dropped the bottle in my hand when I heard those words. They sounded creepy and annoying... and scary at the same time.

’What the fuck-! Why is this monster... no, never mind. I don’t think I can understand anything that goes inside a monster’s mind.’

I decided not to question my luck and the sudden change in the monster’s behavior. If it wanted to help me out, then it was to my own benefit to let it.

But I was not going to drop my guard against it at any cost.

Once my bags were packed, I left the PC café and went to the next junction where I had asked Joshua to pick me up.

My potion that I used to mask myself was already used, so I knew that I was safe for now.

’I will use my spare mask for my Manet identity. Thankfully, I hid it from the hunter’s association, so even those fools don’t know about my second mask. Things should be fine for now.’

I reassured myself as I watched the car approach.

Joshua was in the passenger seat while the same person who accompanied him before was in the driver’s seat.

"Tsk, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and get in. We don’t have the whole day. We need to get your skin treated, among other things."

Joshua complained as he pointed toward the back seat where he wanted me to sit. I didn’t question him and sat down quickly.

The car ride was mostly silent, and only Joshua spoke to complain about some passersby, among other things.

Finally, we reached the mall where Joshua wanted to take us, and he grabbed my wrist as soon as I got out of the car.

"Sam, park the car and follow us inside. You know where we are going. You need to get yourself treated as well this time."

Joshua spoke harshly, and Sam flinched at the thought of getting treated. Still, the man plastered a smile on his face and nodded.

"Of course. I will meet you inside, so don’t worry. Good luck, Manet. You will need it if you want to survive our boss."

Sam told me before I was dragged away by an impatient Joshua.

"Tsk, don’t tell our new teammate useless stuff like that. Ugh, we don’t have time to waste like this. Let’s hurry. Our appointment time is almost here."

Joshua complained as he pulled me along.

The last thing I saw was Sam waving goodbye to me before he closed the door and went to park the car.

"Hey, don’t you dare think that I am here just as an accessory. When you are with me, you pay attention to me, alright?"

Joshua told me, and I nodded and followed him.

As soon as we entered the salon, everyone turned to look at us, and the head stylist came forward to greet us.

"Oh my, Master Joshua. Welcome back. What would you like to get done today?"

The head stylist asked.

"Not me, but him. I am here to get him prepared today."

Joshua told the stylist, pushing me forward toward the omega stylist.
