The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 190: Ch : Do What you Want - Part 1
It was peaceful and quiet as Lynn sunk into the depths of those waters. He could feel the world around him fading away as that calm and gentle silence enveloped him.
His body and senses were becoming dull. Even the pain was fading. But the only thing not fading away was his memory.
In the end, he had been able to save Kyle and that was all that mattered. His sacrifice mattered to him and that brought a small smile on his face.
’How calm. I can feel my body slowly becoming duller. I guess that is it for me! I am finally going to die. It feels... much calmer than I thought.’
Lynn was not sure whether he was complaining or whether he was feeling better about it. All he knew was that he would never see Kyle again. And that was the only thought that felt annoying.
But even that was slowly fading from his mind, and he sunk further. Thinking was becoming difficult.
Lynn could live like this forever. In this dark water with nothing to do and nothing to live for. He just wanted to stay down here forever.
"Lynn—"
A soft voice called out his name, and he instantly paid attention to it.
In this blankness where nothing existed, that voice was the only thing that caught his attention. But he made no effort to move toward it.
"Lynn—! Hold on!"
This time, the voice was a little more clear, and Lynn could recognize Kyle’s voice. He suddenly felt like he wanted to head toward that voice, so he tried to do that.
But his limbs refused to follow his orders, and Lynn gave up.
’I am sorry Kyle, but I cannot muster any strength to fight these currents. I just want to sink to the bottom and not think anything.’
Lynn’s mind spoke, but his lips made no sound. He was sinking even faster now, and the bottom was in sight. Just a little more and he would finally be able to rest.
"What bullshit. You told me you liked me and then immediately got yourself killed? Is that what your liking amounts to? Getting yourself offed even before we had a chance to talk?"
Kyle asked, and Lynn almost flinched. He felt like he had done something wrong. But he was not thinking clearly. Surely, Kyle could forgive him, right?
’I’m sorry.’
Lynn tried to move his hand a little and it twitched. But that was all he could manage. His body refused to do anything else he commanded of it.
"So you can still move? That means you are still there, right? Just hang on Lynn. I will make sure to save you."
Kyle told him before a burning feeling filled Lynn’s heart. He suddenly felt sensations all over his body, and it hurt. He took in a sharp gasp as a hand clutched his wrist before it pulled him up.
’What is going on—?’
"I caught you. Now, you have nowhere else to run or hide."
Kyle’s voice was clear, and Lynn was fully pushed out of the water. Pain assaulted his whole body, but it slowly faded away.
He blinked as he looked up, only to see Kyle pushing something in his mouth.
"W-What happened—"
"Don’t speak. I have not given you the permission to speak, so don’t you dare. Just keep yourself quiet and drink the medicine. You need to get better so that we can continue."
Kyle told him, and his face was a mixture of worry and sorrow. Lynn had a feeling that he had done something stupid, but he could not recall what he had done.
’What actually happened—’
"Sorry. I know that it is difficult for you to be able to move, but we need to head forward now. Do you think you can move?"
Kyle asked, and Lynn felt like he had to try and comply with what he was being asked.
He tried to push his body, but it felt too hard. None of his limbs had any power in them, and he flopped back on the ground, now exhausted.
"I cannot move. Can I just stay like this ten more minutes? No, just five would also do."
Lynn did not want to be a burden, so he just needed time to catch his breath. Kyle just nodded as he patted Lynn’s head.
"You can take as long as you want. I will protect us in the meantime. Don’t worry. Nothing will happen to either you or me. We will get out of here at all costs."
Kyle promised, and Lynn finally noticed that there was a small barrier surrounding both him and Kyle. Outside the barrier, monsters threatened to attack, but Kyle’s familiars were able to push them all back.
Lynn knew he needed to get better. He could not let Kyle bear the burden of the whole battle. But it felt just... too good to be in Kyle’s arms right now.
The omega had his face in his lap as he leaned against a wall. The monsters were a threat, but the barrier was strong enough to keep them out.
Just as he closed his eyes, something struck the barrier, almost breaking it. But Kyle was able to keep the barrier intact.
The monsters parted, only to show a familiar female in front of them. She looked calm but angry at the same time.
As soon as her eyes met Kyle’s, she gritted her teeth and moved forward.
"So, we both meet again? I should introduce myself once more. I am Rina, a high priestess of the god of creation. And now, I will also become the one to send you both to your graves."
She told the pair, and Kyle tensed. He looked directly at Rina when he spoke.
"You want to kill me? Won’t your master be angry if you do that?"
He asked, and Rina took a deep breath.
"He might be angry, but I am sure he would understand as well. After all, he is no longer stopping me from doing what I want."
