Chapter 161: Ch 161: A Story only I know- Part 2

"Experiment No. 357 is awake. We are ready to test out his limits. Should we start with the physical test, or is he still too young to experience all that?"

Theo opened his eyes for the first time, only to see a bunch of people running around the room, trying to get one thing or another.

They had noticed him opening his eyes, but beyond that, they did nothing and left the poor child all alone.

Confused eyes looked around as the humans moved around. Their strong heartbeat helped Theo relax as well. But that did not last long because one of the humans handed him something with expecting eyes.

"Can you blow in this for us? And stand still. This is going to hurt."

Something sharp poked Theo as his arm was grabbed and his head was pushed toward the tube where he was asked to blow air into.

He felt uncomfortable and wanted to turn around and hide himself. But there seemed to be nowhere for him to be able to hide.

"Don’t worry. It’s all going to be fine. Just do this much for us, and we will let you go back to sleep."

Kind eyes of the human in front of Theo promised as he asked as he had been told to. His young mind knew nothing and could comprehend nothing of the danger he was in. He just wanted to rest.

Everyone let out a gasp as he blew in the pipe, but the sudden pressure caused the pipe to shatter.

"Oh no! He’s too strong. Hurry up and bring a sedative. We won’t be able to control him otherwise."

Someone commented, but Theo did not know what to do next. Was he supposed to leave the pipe? Keep blowing in it still?

His hands were beginning to hurt, the shards of the broken glass embedding themselves into his hand. He felt hurt and tired at the same time.

The kind stranger from before came back, her hands closing around his hand and pushing him to drop the glass that was hurting him.

"It’s going to be alright. You can let go of the tube now. I am here to help you out."

The female told Theo, and his young mind had not developed enough to know not to trust her. So he let go of the tube.

The very next second, something was jabbed in his neck, and he felt uncomfortable. He tried to pry that uncomfortable feeling off, but his body sagged.

"Darn it! Even the medicine has stopped working. Just what kind of beast are we dealing with here?"

Someone asked as they looked at the staggering body of the alpha in front of them. This was a creation they had made, but no one wanted to be the one to deal with him.

In the end, Theo was picked up and taken to bed. He did not know what was happening, but he did know that he was missing something.

The next time he woke up, things were not much better. But the humans were much more wary of him and his powers.

"Test subject 357 is awake. Hurry up and take a reading. This is all important data."

The humans spoke as Theo watched them move around. The female researcher who had spoken to him before was nowhere to be seen.

For the first time, Theo felt lonely and felt like he needed to have someone to talk to. Not these humans, but someone who understood him.

Maybe then, this feeling of being alone would go away.

’I want to go home. This is not home.’

Theo could feel that he was missing something. There was a gaping hole in his chest that forced him to want to go back home.

But where was home?

"Sir, we are ready for the next experiment. But are you sure you want to use that... awakening weapon? Experiment subject 357 has not stabilized yet. We cannot know what will happen once we use it."

Someone complained, but the head researcher looked at Theo with a mad glint in his eyes.

"Of course, I know what you all are worried about. But we need to do this in order to break through the barrier and enter the next stage of our experiment. We cannot let things be as they are any longer."

He told his people, and they all looked sorry for Theo.

The young alpha could feel concern and pity roll off these humans in waves. And yet, they all ignored him and decided to go ahead with their experiment.

This time, the pain was even worse than before. Theo clutched his chest as he felt like he was being torn apart.

’I-It hurts. I don’t want to do this. I want to run away—’

’Then, shall I help you out? If you can no longer take it, then switch with me. I will handle the pain in your place.’

A soft voice told Theo, and it felt warm and caring. He wanted to close his eyes and allow that voice to take all his pain away.

He closed his eyes, and everyone watched as Theo’s body sagged on the table he was lying on.

"S-Sir, what should we do? The experimental subject 357 has stopped responding. At this rate, something dangerous might happen. What should we do?"

Someone asked, and the head scientist let out a sigh before he looked at Theo’s unconscious form. He did not want to stop the experiment when he was this close to a breakthrough.

But to lose the only experiment subject that made it this far would also be a pity. In the end, he decided to make a decision. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"Fine, we can stop for now. Lock the kid up, and we will pick up from where we started tomorrow. And also, start preparing to awaken another doll for now. The more pieces we have for the experiment, the better the end result will be."

The man ordered, and everyone looked at him with dread and hate. But they all obeyed his orders anyway.
