The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 139: Ch : A Whole New World- Part 3
"Hey, you look like a festive firecracker. You won’t last long in here if you continue to be like this. Fortunately for you, I like people like you the most. What do you say? Do you want to come and spend some time with me? I promise I will take care of you well."
The man who grabbed my wrist asked with a crazy look in his eyes.
There was some unstable energy around that man that warned me to stay away from him. So that was what I decided to do.
I yanked my hand out of that tight grip and gave that man a blank look before replying.
"No. I do not want you to take care of me. I am fine the way I am."
Now it was the man’s turn to look offended. His outstretched hand was still holding my wrist, but his face seemed to have gone a mixture of red and green as he looked at me.
"Y-You—! Tsk, you bitch—! Just because I gave you some attention does not mean you get to show off or be all high-maintenance like this. It seems like you have no idea what kind of people you are making an enemy of."
The man said with an agitated voice. I was sure he was talking about himself, but I saw others looking at me from the corner of their eyes as well, wondering how I would handle this situation.
Not that I was intimidated.
"Everyone is welcome to make me their enemy if they want to. Now, I would like to go back and do my work."
I told the man, and he gritted his teeth before giving me a final warning.
"Arrogant people like you do not last long. I wonder if I will even see you tomorrow."
The man said before he left. The tension in the air fell as well after that.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a few other waiters giving me concerned looks. The others looked at me as if I had lost my mind or something.
But one thing was for sure—no one was on my side.
After that confrontation, a few more people tried to get close to me but were met with a similar rejection. I managed to finish my tasks for the day and then headed back to my room.
I kept an eye out for the female who was taken to the backrooms, but she never made an appearance anymore.
Instead, I saw the female who was my guide walk toward me with an agitated expression on her face, and as soon as she stood in front of me, she cleared her throat.
"Ahm, you did a decent job today, but if you want to work long-term in this industry, you need to be careful not to cause any trouble to our patrons. After all, they are our lifeline and also the reason we are able to afford anything here. So next time, pretend to follow them and—"
The female trailed off as soon as she noticed that there was something wrong with our surroundings.
I had noticed as soon as the air changed, and my sharp senses told me that I was being followed by someone.
’Ah, looks like the threat from before is coming at me full force now.’
I had been threatened a few times tonight by people, but I had not thought that someone would actually act on these threats to try and take me out.
Worrying for myself was not something I needed to do. But my guide was a different case. She was innocent and only caught in the cross-fire because of me.
"W-What is going on here? The world went dark all of a sudden? Y-You, stay close to me. I have a bad feeling about this—"
Something sharp was thrown toward the guide in front of me and I blocked it using my knife swiftly before I threw my first knife in the direction of the attack and got ready to parry the second one.
My knife hit something, but it was likely not my target because I could feel movement around us.
"W-What is going on here?"
My guide asked as she clutched her chest and tried to ground herself.
"We are being attacked by someone. Be careful or you might lose your life."
I told my guide as I parried another attack. My words made her go pale and look around with a panicked expression.
"W-We are being hunted? But why? I never did anything—? It is all your fault. You are the reason I will die."
The female sounded hysterical when she spoke. She was convinced that we both would die, despite the fact that she could see I had the upper hand here.
I kept my mouth shut and gave the female a look, but my instincts kept tracking my attacker and stopping them from being able to hurt either of us.
The assassin who came to kill us seemed like an expert, but they were also getting impatient because I refused to allow them to hit us.
’The assassin’s pride must be damaged beyond repair by now. What should I do to make sure they show themselves soon?’
I asked myself, and there was only one answer that came to mind—force them in a way that would leave them no choice but to come out.
And to do that, I would have to crush the assassin beyond repair.
That’s what I did as well. I used my power in the dungeon to call for my familiar, and as soon as I felt the assassin step close to my familiar, I exploded the jellyfish.
The loud explosion damaged the assassin’s ear and dazed them, and I used that time to catch them.
"Oh fuck—! What are you—"
The assassin tried to speak, but I knocked him out before he could finish. That was how I had an assassin in my grip, and I was going to question him about this place as much as I wanted to.
