"H-How dare you...aren’t you getting too full of yourself lately? Do you truly think you will be able to get away with all this?"

The man talking to Kaname asked, but Kaname only gave him a look before he waved his hand around.

I felt the subtle use of an ability, and the man who cursed Kaname out suddenly fell on his feet and clutched his heart.

Kaname took a step toward him, and no one stopped him because they were too busy being shocked to even know what happened.

"You look sick. Are you sure you should be out and about at all? Rather, why don’t you go and sleep? That would make you feel better."

Kaname placed his hand on the suffering man’s shoulder, and the man panicked before he slapped Kaname’s hand away. His breathing finally calmed down, but his anger never calmed down at Kaname.

"You bitch-! How dare you do this to me. Ughhhh, I will get you for this."

The man left in a hurry without even looking back, and the others followed suit as well. They all looked afraid of Kaname.

Kaname’s eyes were cold as he looked at the retreating back of his colleagues. And then, he turned toward me with his calm eyes and gave me a small smile.

"I apologize for having you see that. It was not for your eyes. I am sure you do not have a good opinion of this place after witnessing what just happened."

The man asked me, but I never had a high regard toward this place to begin with, so I was not disappointed.

Kaname must have guessed that as well because he only let out a startled laugh at my indifference before he asked me to keep following him until we reached a room.

"Here, this can be your room. Since you refused to take my hand, you’ll have to work hard at your job to make ends meet. The fee for your room would be deducted from your salary. Are you following what I told you so far?"

Kaname asked, and he seemed like the type of person to repeat his words a few times if they did not get across to the other party.

But despite this patience, he was a man who could not deal with his failures well. From his words, I could tell that he was going to make things difficult and expensive for me just because I refused his help.

’Does this person have a messiah complex? Is that why he’s sour that I did not take his hand for help and instead chose to follow him here?’

Whatever the case was, this place was certainly different from any other I knew, and I needed more information.

And to do that, I would need Kuro’s help. So I needed to be alone for some time.

"Thank you for your concern, but I have a feeling I will be fine. If not, I will ask you for help. I am sure someone as great as you would surely help me overcome anything."

My words brought a small blush and a smile on Kaname’s face. He looked bashful as he gave me a smile in return for my words.

"Of course-! I will do that for sure. You can count on me. Now, I should take my leave. The others are waiting for me as well."

The man told me before he left.

I waited until he was gone before I locked the door behind me and used an artefact to seal my surroundings to make sure no one lurked around.

Furthermore, I also made sure to disable any and all ways someone had to keep an eye on me in this room. My skill set came in handy at such a time.

Once I was sure that this place was as secure as it could be, it was time for me to bring Kuro out.

As soon as I opened the bottle, the black mass struggled out, and Kuro took a human shape with wobbly steps.

"Finally-! I thought you forgot all about me, and I was about to riot against you. So, where are we now? This place does not look like a dungeon. Are we in a hotel room?"

Kuro asked as he looked around, and I took a seat opposite it on the bed.

"Believe it or not, we are inside the Hell’s Fire. This is what the inside of the dungeon looks like. I am just as surprised as you are at what lies inside here. So I would like you to help me gather more information about this place."

I told Kuro, and he nodded.

"You want information? Sure, you got it. I will go around in my cat form to look for more information. Also, don’t eat anything in this dungeon. My instincts are warning that something bad might happen if we do that."

Kuro told me, and I nodded before letting him out of the room. He was going to be my hands and feet now.

While Kuro was out, I also had much to do. There was a changing uniform-type clothes consisting of a black T-shirt and jeans. When I wore them, they fit me perfectly, and they seemed to be of high quality.

Just as I finished, the door was knocked again, and a beautiful lady waited for me on the other side of the door. She was wearing the same attire as I was, and she looked surprised to see me.

"Ah-! You are already ready? Did Kaname tell you to change?...no, he told me he forgot....anyway, since you have changed already, why don’t you come with me? I will show you the snack bar and where you need to work."

The female told me before she gestured for me to follow her.

I decided to follow her, mainly because she seemed to be guiding me to a place where there were a lot of people and workers.
