An awkward silence took over the room as soon as the meeting was over. All the hunters gave me a quick look, and I had a feeling they were debating how to approach me.

I stood up before a decision could be made and headed toward the exit.

"Now that I have given everyone my warning, it is time for me to leave now. I hope you will take what I said to heart and not try to cause me any trouble."

I told the other hunters, and they immediately looked away from me. I knew their looks well — they were debating whether to approach me or not.

So I was not giving them any chances to do that.

"Ace, don’t mind most of us. We are just happy to see you here. But don’t worry. No one here is foolish enough to try and follow you around."

Edward assured me, and a few people shuffled as they looked away. They had an almost guilty look on their faces.

I understood why these people looked guilty because I had felt them use their ability on me as I tried to leave.

I had let them be for now, but I had taken care of their ability. But clearly, that had not been warning enough for them.

For now, I showed agreement with Edward by addressing what he had said.

"You are right. Hopefully, people in here are not foolish enough to try and challenge me. I am not in a good mood these days, after all."

I told the rank #3 hunter, and a few people backed off. A lot of hunters wouldn’t take this warning to heart, but I was prepared for their bullshit.

I left the meeting room, but I had not gone very far when I felt the smell of alpha pheromones. They felt fresh and young, a little too sweet as well, and I turned around to address the owner of these unknown pheromones.

"Do you need anything from me?"

I asked the alpha who followed me out, and the alpha looked proud of himself. His pheromones became even sweeter as a happy look overtook his face, and he replied.

"Y-You-! I want to ask you out, Ace. I have admired you ever since I was little, and your scent... I can faintly smell it, and I can tell that we are fated. Don’t you feel the tug as well?"

The alpha asked in a small voice as he looked into my eyes. Hope swirled in the alpha’s eyes as he tried to hold my gaze.

His scent also got stronger, and it tried to drag me further toward the alpha.

I had to admit that the alpha had a nice and calm scent, and he also looked a little shy and adorable, likely due to his young age and manners. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

But he was mistaken if he thought we were fated. His scent did not make me react the way Theo’s did. It was sweet but not a must-have.

My silence must have been getting to the alpha because he shifted on his feet before giving me a look of concern.

"Hunter Ace-! Are you alright? I-Is my scent too overwhelming for you? Do you need me to pull it back or something?"

The hunter asked, now getting too full of himself as he asked this question. He likely thought that I was getting like this because of his scent.

He was mistaken, and I quickly corrected the alpha in front of me.

"I am fine. As for your scent or us being fated? I think you have made a mistake. Your scent is pleasant but not something I need to have. I should head out now."

The young alpha looked stunned at the rejection, and his face twisted into one of anger as he watched me leave.

I held my tongue, not wanting to say anything to the alpha in front of me, but that was clearly the wrong thing to do because the alpha exploded.

"Y-You-! What do you even know, you omega? Are you rejecting me? You have no right to do that. I say we are fated, so we are fated. Do you understand—"

The man reached for my wrist, now having lost all rationality. He became the very thing that he was not trying to.

I saw the incoming attack, but it was easy enough for me to grab the alpha’s wrist and tug it forward until the alpha lost his balance and fell.

He looked dazed and angry at what had just happened and immediately tried to turn around to grab me once more.

But I did the same.

When the alpha tried to use his abilities, I attacked and twisted his pressure points before he could attack me.

I was too well-trained to fall to such an inexperienced alpha.

"Sorry, kid, but you are neither the first nor the last alpha who thought they could take advantage of me. And I am not in the mood to be taken advantage of by kids like you. So just wait for your ’real’ fate to show up and stop harassing me."

I told the fallen alpha, but I was addressing everyone who had gathered around to see this show.

Most of the alphas took the lesson to heart and decided to back off and not court me anymore. Their pride would not survive if they were faced with what just happened to this alpha.

As for the others... well, if they were foolish enough to ignore my warning, I could do nothing but take care of them when they attempted to get close to me.

"Don’t worry about what happened here, Ace. I and Luminous Guild will take care of such cases for you. Now that you are a part of our organization, you are like our family. And we take care of our families."

Theo assured me as he walked out from behind other alphas in the crowd and placed his hand on the shoulder of the alpha I had humiliated.

Lynn’s expression did not look pleasant, and the alpha he was looking at paled.

I decided it was better not to interfere there and backed off quickly. It was time for me to head home now.
