Chapter 56: Squad of Crazy Heads

โ€œCommander, why didnโ€™t you tell me that my new superior will be your daughter?โ€ Brenda said, shaking my hand. ฦ’๐’“e๐žwe๐š‹๐™ฃ๏ฝ๐šŸ๐šŽ๐˜ญ.co๐™ข

โ€œI was going to, but you interrupted me,โ€ Dean said, a bit annoyed.

โ€œDean, you sound like a pushover sometimes,โ€ I said, making Mom laugh.

โ€œItโ€™s not like that. I just care about what my soldiers want to say,โ€ Dean said, trying to defend himself.

โ€œYeah, whatever. I was actually here to ask you something. Can you teach me about tactics and planning?โ€ I said, looking at him.

โ€œHuh? Your mother can do that too, you know.โ€

โ€œI know that, but she isnโ€™t the best at explaining things.โ€

โ€œI see, that makes sense. We can do that, but I am a bit busy at the moment. We can start tomorrow.โ€

.....

โ€œThat is fine. I was planning to get acquainted with my new squad anyways,โ€ I said, looking back at the 3.

โ€œOkay, I will finalize the paperwork then. Before I forget, you know about the reincarnation meeting that should have been at the end of this week.โ€

โ€œYes, If I remember, it will happen here at the Draigs mansion. What about it?โ€ I said, confused.

โ€œYes, it would have, but Hugo canceled it. We moved it up to the banquet at the end of the month.โ€

โ€œThat damn furry,โ€ I said, annoyed.

โ€œWhat is a furry?โ€ Dean and Brenda ask.

โ€œUhm, how to explain this. Itโ€™s what we call people who dress up like humanoid animals with a lot of fur on them. They end up looking more like an animal than a humanoid, like me, though. If you are wondering if itโ€™s a compliment, it is not.โ€ I explain, shaking my head.

โ€œI thought all demi-humans see them as kings?โ€ Brenda commented.

โ€œHuh, are you crazy? Do you think a demon fox will bow down to something like that?โ€ I said, raising an eyebrow at her.

โ€œSo no?โ€ Brenda said.

โ€œYes, no. It is only the demi-humans who donโ€™t have the self-confidence that would bow down to them,โ€ I explain.

โ€œIs that true?โ€ Brenda said, looking at Apricot.

โ€œYes, it is mostly the demi-human who canโ€™t defend themselves. For example, mouse-demis would follow them without question.โ€ Apricot explains.

โ€œOoh, sorry, it seems I have been misinterpreting their existence, maโ€™am,โ€ Brenda said, bowing.

โ€œItโ€™s fine. Now come, letโ€™s go and have a talk.โ€ I said, walking out of the office.

Walking out of the mansion, I looked at Brenda, confused.

โ€œI thought you were a samurai?โ€ I said, looking at her giant sword on her back.

โ€œThat is right, maโ€™am. I am just better with bigger Katanas than the small ones,โ€ She said, touching the handle of her sword.

โ€˜I donโ€™t think a 40 cm wide and 1,8 meters blade is a katana.โ€™ I thought, shaking my head.

โ€œI see you got to show it to me later. Letโ€™s go to the garden to talk.โ€ I said, walking away again.

โ€œYes, maโ€™am.โ€ All three of them said, following me.

โ€œIf you guys call me maโ€™am one more time, I will pull out your vocal cords,โ€ I said, narrowing my eyes at them menacingly.

โ€œWe will remember that commander.โ€ They said gulping

โ€œJust call me Kitsuna, for crying out loud. Hey, Apricot, why are you wearing your contacts again?โ€ I ask while walking.

โ€œYour mother said I should, so the word doesnโ€™t get out about me.โ€ She said.

โ€œThat sounds about right. I will let Luna know to make you some blindfolds for your eyes.โ€ I said.

โ€œIs there something special about her eyes?โ€ Brenda ask.

โ€œYeah, you will see later,โ€ I said, entering the garden. After walking for a while, I sat down on a patch of grass.

โ€œSit down,โ€ I said, patting the grass. Apricot followed without question while the other 2 hesitated for a second.

โ€œOkay, now that everyone is here, we can do a proper introduction. We will go Name, position in squad, class, and weapon preference. I will start.โ€ I said, sitting up cross-legged.

โ€œMy name is Kitsuna Draig, and I will be the commander of this squad. I am only 13 years old, almost 14, and level 30, so I donโ€™t have a class yet. I am a speed-type, and I donโ€™t have a weapon preference.โ€ I said, looking at them.

โ€œYour only 13, and you donโ€™t have a class,โ€ Apricot said, surprised.

โ€œYes, and I am not planning to get one in the near future,โ€ I said, nodding.

โ€œWhat do you mean you donโ€™t have a weapon preference?โ€ Brenda ask.

โ€œI use a lot of different weapons in combat.โ€

โ€œIs there a certain class you are going for then?โ€ Brenda asks, tilting her head. ๐™›๐™ง๐™š๐’†๐˜ธ๐šŽ๐™—๐’oฮฝ๐™š๐˜ญ.๐œ๐’m

โ€œI am, but that will stay a secrete for now,โ€ I said.

โ€œOkay. I guess itโ€™s my turn,โ€ Brenda said

โ€œUn.โ€

โ€œMy name is Brenda, no surname. I am a major in the black ops army. I am a samurai level 834. I am a strength type, and I use a bigger than normal Katana for combat.โ€ Brenda said, tapping the sword next to her.

โ€œCan I see your sword if you donโ€™t mind?โ€ I said, standing up.

โ€œSure.โ€ She said, handing her blade over.

Walking away from everyone a bit, I swung the blade around a few times.

โ€œThat thing is a lot lighter than I thought it would be,โ€ I said, giving back the blade and sat down again. Even though it is that big, it was the same weight my ice war hammer is, and I can swing that thing around like an oversize teddy bear.

โ€œI am surprised you could swing it that many times.โ€

โ€œIt is the same weight as my ice war hammer, so it was easy to swing around,โ€ I explain, making one in my hand, showing her.

โ€œHuh? How did you make that weapon appear?โ€ Sirone asks, surprised.

โ€œItโ€™s one of my ability. I can create weapons out of my ice magic.โ€ I said, smiling.

โ€œI see. That is why you donโ€™t have a weapon preference because you can make your own anytime.โ€ Apricot said.

โ€œYeah, thatโ€™s good and all, but I am useless in a mid and long-range fight. Well, for the moment.โ€ I said, shrugging.

โ€œI see, but that doesnโ€™t explain why you could swing my blade like that,โ€ Brenda asks again.

โ€œMy strength sits at 795 at the moment.โ€

โ€œWhat a prodigy.โ€ Brenda and Sirone said, amazed.

โ€œNot really most reincarnation should be able to do that,โ€ I said, shrugging.

โ€œSeriously?โ€ Brenda asks worriedly.

โ€œYeah, but you donโ€™t have to worry too much about it for now. Sirone, youโ€™re next.โ€

โ€œOkay, my name is Sirone. I am Brendaโ€™s little sister. I am a level 569 healing sage. I have no experience in weaponry.โ€ Sirone said, making me tilt my head.

โ€œYeah, we will change that. You canโ€™t go into a fight without any way to protect yourself.โ€

โ€œBut she is a healer,โ€ Brenda said.

โ€œI am not going to have a healer on my team that cant protect themself. I would rather have my team go on missions without one then.โ€

โ€œBut...โ€ Brenda said with a worried expression.

โ€œDonโ€™t worried I will get her a gun or something so she can attack from range. We will also get her new combat clothes. I canโ€™t have her look like a healer making her a target.โ€

โ€œBut she looks so cute in her healing robes on,โ€ Brenda said, pouting.

โ€œYou think I look cute,โ€ Sirone mumbled, blushing.

โ€œOf course, you look super cute with your healing robes on,โ€ Brenda said enthusiastically.

โ€œOkay, can we move on? Apricot your turn and tell them everything.โ€ I said, getting us back on track.

โ€œMy name is Apricot. I am a slave of Kitsuna reason why is because I am an ex-federation soldier. I am not planning on betraying you as the federation abused and did things to me I will never forgive. I am a level 463 Puppeteer with Illusionistโ€™s eyes. As a puppeteer, I donโ€™t specialize in any weapon, but I can use wires to a good extent.โ€

โ€œPFFF, Yeah, right, I bet... ugh,โ€ Brenda said before finding an ice sword pointed against her throat.

โ€œLook at her right ear,โ€ I said, taking the sword back.

โ€œWhy?โ€ Brenda said, narrowing her eyes at me. Looking at Apricots head. Seeing her half-cut ear, she looked down in shame.

โ€œThat is only the surface damage you can see but believe me. There is a lot more. Also, do remember this. I might be friendly and easy-going, but I am not naive.โ€ I said, making the atmosphere even more gloomy.

โ€œYou forgot to add crazy,โ€ Apricot commented, making Brenda gasp.

.....

โ€œAre you sure I did?โ€ I said, grinning.

โ€œWould a sane person force someone to take a bath in ice after knowing them for a couple of seconds?โ€ Apricot said, hugging herself.

โ€œWhat, but you were dirty. I just wanted you to be clean.โ€

โ€œYou didnโ€™t have to force me and through me into an ice bath,โ€ Apricot said, annoyed?

โ€œI did warn you, though,โ€ I said with a small grin.

โ€œA second before you dropped me into the bath does not count as a warning,โ€ Apricot said, grounding her teeth, glaring at me.

โ€œYou guys donโ€™t seem to hate each other even though youโ€™re her slave,โ€ Sirone said, smiling.

โ€œUn, of course, what isnโ€™t to like about me,โ€ I said, grinning.

โ€œI can name quite a few.โ€ Apricot commended.

โ€œWell, back to more important things. We will start training together tomorrow before you say anything about your level, it wonโ€™t be helpful. Your level wonโ€™t help you guys in my training.โ€ I said, giving the Stacy training smirk.

โ€œWe are fucked.โ€ Brenda mumbled.
