The System Sent Me to Breed an All-Female Amazon Tribe-Chapter 248: The Amazons Will Save Benjamin!
"Please tell me, how exactly did he vanish?" Lotus asked again, her voice steady and analytical as she sought precise details to piece together the puzzle. "Was there any shimmering magic visible in the surrounding space at the moment of his disappearance? Did you happen to notice a particular color associated with the effect? Did you feel the air warp or distort in any noticeable way? All of this critical information will allow me to narrow down the possible means of his abduction with greater accuracy."
Elara’s silver-grey eyes began to dart nervously from one Amazon sister to another around the oval table and throughout the vine-woven hall, a cute and embarrassed flush rising to her cheeks as she found herself playing absentmindedly with her nails, twisting them gently between her fingers.
"I am truly sorry, Lotus," Elara replied, her voice laced with clear embarrassment and a slight stutter that revealed her vulnerability in that moment. "I h-had requested that Benjamin k-k-kissed me at that particular time while we were still aboard Auralis. And when he agreed to it so willingly, I closed my eyes... t-to fully enjoy the kiss and savor the intimate moment, so..."
Lotus placed one thoughtful hand on her chin, her expression remaining composed and focused as she deliberately ignored the collective blushing and flustered reactions spreading among the women gathered in the hall.
In her mind, she began to ponder the situation deeply and privately.
[Even if it was only for a second or two, Elara would never miss any subtle clue under normal circumstances.] Lotus reflected silently within her own thoughts. [This has to be the doing of an astronomically powerful mage of considerable power, or perhaps even a divine being operating from a higher plane. I speculate that he was teleported away by a law-type ability rather than a conventional magic spell or similar arcane construct.
[Law-type abilities are not usually decided or triggered by the mere presence or absence of visible magic. Thus, they are extremely difficult to notice or detect when they are actively in effect. The otherworlders like Kurosawa and some gods refer to them as "unique skills." This definitely bears the mark of one of those powerful rulers or entities governing the material world of Elyndor.]
Lotus then smoothly interrupted the small argument that was beginning to heat up among some of the sisters, a debate centered on whether Benjamin might have somehow returned back to his original world.
"That is impossible," Lotus interjected with calm certainty, her tone cutting through the rising voices like a clear blade. "When one has already crossed between worlds, it becomes fundamentally impossible to return in any simple or straightforward manner.
"The act of crossing itself is a type of cosmic mistake or anomaly, and it occurs mostly to souls that have perished in their original realm. A living soul like Benjamin will not simply return on a whim; neither Elyndor’s gods nor the deities of the other world would permit such a reversal without extraordinary consequences."
With her careful and authoritative explanation delivered, Lulu blushed deeply in embarrassment, since she had been the one to originally voice the suspected but misguided notion.
"This is not an ordinary matter at all, Elara," Lotus continued, now turning her attention fully toward the carpet where she sat.
She began arranging a series of small stones and glowing crystals in a very specific, deliberate pattern with practiced precision.
"Choosing to pursue and find Benjamin any further could easily lead to open war, and many lives—on both sides—will inevitably perish in the conflict. The person or entity involved, though I do not yet know their exact identity, is powerful enough to personally confront and challenge the entire Verdant Spire alone if they so choose.
"And even if they were to ultimately lose such a confrontation, they would still be capable of taking more than half our population with them into oblivion."
Elara’s face grew stern and resolute as she listened intently to the words of the oldest and wisest Amazon currently residing in the Verdant Spire, absorbing every implication with the gravity the situation demanded.
Lotus continued without pause, her golden eyes reflecting deep strategic concern. "We will have to be extraordinarily wise in our approach, and remain subtle and cautious in all our movements, because we can be certain that we are already being watched closely by the enemy from the shadows.
"Choose now with full awareness," Lotus concluded, laying out the stark options before the assembled sisters. "Save Benjamin regardless of the risks involved, or keep strictly to our own business here in the Spire and avoid a possibly fatal encounter with such a troublesome and overwhelmingly powerful enem—"
"We will save Benjamin!" Elara declared firmly, not even allowing Lotus to finish her final sentence.
Her voice rang out with unyielding royal authority that filled the entire hall. "As queen of the Amazons of the Verdant Spire, I decree that we commit all our available resources, strength, and cunning to the single goal of getting our man back safely where he belongs. If any of you present here have any opposition or reservation regarding this decision, we shall settle those differences fairly and openly only after we have achieved success in our mission."
But every Amazon official and sister gathered there in the hall only nodded in solemn agreement, their expressions reflecting unified resolve and loyalty with no voices of dissent rising against the queen’s command.
[Heh. I knew I raised you well] Lotus allowed a brief, subtle curve to form at the corners of her lips, a small but meaningful smile that reflected deep inner satisfaction and quiet pride as she observed Elara’s decisive leadership in the moment.
In the privacy of her own thoughts, she continued reflecting with a sense of warm approval. [If Elara had decided to go the cleaner and more cautious path, I would not have stopped her or interfered in any way. But I personally will never let Benjamin go so easily. I have not truly loved a man in almost an eternity of existence. So I will not lose hold of this one that I have now found. Hold on tightly, my love, wherever you are—we are coming to save you soon.]
"I will perform a great deal of sorcery and forbidden magic right here—"
