The Sword Deity in Tokyo-Chapter 309: A Decision To Deceive
"I saw two people at the arbor." Kimura Kazuki calmly exposed Ryoto Amagasaki and Hayato.
"What?" Makoto Honda and the others were stunned and their expressions turned grim. "Are you sure?"
"Sure, if you go over there now you may still be able to see them. But I did dare to approach the two people I just saw in the middle of the night. I am afraid that they will notice me so I planned to meet my friends and have a discussion first. I did not expect the police department to be here on Kanayama at night."
You? Scared? Makoto Honda thought to himself. He knew that this boy in front of him should be Kimura Kazuki, the guy who won the Jade Dragon Flag Individual Competition. He also heard from the firefighters that this guy had exceptional skills in martial arts.
However, when Makoto Honda thought about it seriously, he changed his mind. If he was alone at Kanayama and he saw two people, he would not approach them too. It was not a matter of martial arts skills, but if the two people were criminals or if they possessed firearms, it would be putting his own life at risk.
Moreover, he and his team did not recognise Kimura Kazuki, this made him have the chills. He did not expect that the others would too. After all, it was already midnight. One would not know whether they were actually meeting a human or ghost on Kanayama.
With that in mind, Makoto Honda stopped questioning. He believed in Kimura Kazuki because he could just go and check it out himself. Even if he went over and the people were not there anymore, there would still be traces of their presence. If there were no traces at all, that meant that Kimura Kazuki was lying.
However, he felt that Kimura Kazuki would not lie.
After that, he ordered a fireman to send Kimura Kazuki and the others down the mountain. Of course they would send Ikioi Ito together later. It was not even an option to leave them on Kanayama. If it were not for Kimura Kazuki's information, he would have told them off harshly.
Kimura Kazuki did not turn down the offer. He planned to tell after the people from the police department settled the Daisuke Kojima incident. As for the treasure, he never believed that.
After so many years, the probability of the treasure still being there was too little. Additionally, the rumours about the treasure came from the people of Kobayashi Village, who would know the truth about that? If it really existed, then someone had probably already taken it.
Seeing this, Harunaka and the others heaved a breath of relief.
Although both Katsuki and Yayoi looked strong in "Camp Kensei", they were not calm and composed when an actual accident happened in real life. Since they were still high school girls, they were not very mature when it comes to managing things.
Harunaka was a bit better.
When everyone got back to Kobayashi Village, the firemen warned, "Next time, do not ever go up a mountain in the middle of the night. If anything were to happen to you, how sad would your parents feel?"
Harunaka and the others kept apologizing and only felt relieved after the firemen left.
"Sorry senpai… It would be much better if we were careful enough."
They had already practiced, as long as they were cautious and alert, they could walk in silence.
Katsuki and Yayoi displayed extreme guilt, especially Katsuki. She proclaimed herself as the strongest among the three. Even though she lost to Harunaka at the Jade Dragon Competition, but that was when she was not ready. Now that she knew Harunaka's trick, the Youbi Sword Drawing Skill, she could defend against that trick if she saw it again.
However, sometimes special powers could not settle certain special situations. This night served as a lesson.
Kimura Kazuki did not feel like reprimanding them. Even though it was confirmed that Kanayama had ghosts and monsters, he still felt that the disappearance of Daisuke Kojima would be better handled by the police department first. It was because it would be more troublesome if they were to bump into the police while looking for ghosts and monsters.
It was the summer break anyway, so he could practice while waiting for the police department to settle the issue before continuing his search on the mountain.
He would be glad if the ghosts were to run away if they were to hear anything happening. If they were wraiths, they would have left a scent once they were moved, which would ease their search.
If there were actually monsters, it did not matter if they would run or not. It would be hard to find them anyway as long as they hid themselves.
About ten minutes later, the Ikioi Ito trio came back.
"Oh my God, is the police department crazy? Having rescue searches in the middle of the night? What if they encounter any danger?" Ikioi Ito, who was escorted down, started complaining after the firemen left.
Mizuki and Tomoya nodded in agreement. Ikioi Ito was usually dumb and idiotic, but he was now speaking the truth.
Kimura Kazuki did not reply. Instead he asked, "Did you guys see anything?"
"No." The three of them shook their heads, especially Ikioi Ito. He was so worried for the whole night that he grasped hard onto the Detonator Talisman and Spirit Stabilizer Talisman in his hand. In the end, he saw nothing at all. He was relieved but disappointed at the same time as he planned to test the power of the Enchanted Talismans.
"Rest well."
After Kimura Kazuki said that, he went straight into his room to rest. Ikioi Ito and the others felt touched while Harunaka and the others were already shooed to their room much earlier by Kimura Kazuki. Tomoya Saito looked at Kimura Kazuki's diminishing silhouette and finally let out a sigh. He thought Kimura Kazuki would collect the Enchanted Talismans back, but he surprisingly did not. It seemed that it was a gift to them already. He could not help but think that Kimura Kazuki was a generous person, maybe that was why he would never be up to Kimura's level.
It was a silent night. The next day, when Kimura Kazuki woke up, he pushed the door and went downstairs. He saw Ryoto Amagasaki and Hayato eating their breakfast with heavy bags under their eyes. It was especially the case for Ryoto Amagasaki. His expression showed that he was in an all time low mood. The policeman named Makoto Honda told them to make their way to the police department after their breakfast, without giving them a break.
Obviously, they were suspected to be involved in the disappearance of Daisuke Kojima.
He did not expect the fire department of the police department to pull an all-nighter rescue mission at Kanayama. They were crazy. In addition, he experienced mixed emotions last night.
He only went down halfway, but before he even found the cave, the firemen approached him and forcefully pulled him back up.
He was stunned at that moment. He even thought that Hayato went crazy.
In the end, he saw the firemen and was speechless after coming up.
When Makoto Honda rushed over to him, he could only truthfully explain the whole situation, but obviously Makoto Honda did not believe any of it. Because even if Ryoto Amagasaki was honest, there was perfect evidence working against him such that he had the perfect reason to commit the crime. The fact that he did not have enough evidence to prove that he was not the murderer made him the first suspect.
The thought of going to the police department made Ryoto Amagasaki feel a sudden headache. Most importantly, Kyoko would be called over, and he would fall into despair.
He knew that this was all over. His life as a freeloading son-in-law had come to an end.
Hayato, who was beside him, had finished his breakfast and patted his buddy on the shoulder while sighing, saying nothing.
Kimura Kazuki saw that they were acting normal around himself. It was obvious that Makoto Honda did not tell them that it was he who exposed them.
