The Supreme Level Up System-Chapter 237 Like Most People
Aion didn't notice that before, but after resting for several hours, he eventually came to realize that the walls of the labyrinth were emitting some sort of light that kept its interior completely free of darkness. Not only that, Aion had a hard time melting a single part of the labyrinth with his magic… that sure was some weird ice.
Thanks to that, it was hard to say when it was day or night inside. So, they rest until they are satisfied instead of waiting for sunlight.
"Are you sure you don't want a weapon?" Seris asked. f𝓇𝘦ℯ𝙬𝑒𝐛n𝐨νe𝙡.c𝑜𝗺
"No. I have decided your method to solve things as efficiently as possible isn't wrong, but I can't abandon mine. I will use all chances on my path to improve my skills."
Aion felt even more eager to do that because he was already receiving too much help from the system and his weapons. While he believed that they belonged to his spirit for one reason or the other, he still also believed that they might be taken one day, and he didn't want to be unprepared when that time came.
"That level of diligence frightens me," Seris shrugged.
Once they returned to the next area, they found one of those hairy monsters already waiting for them. As if she was trying to show off the power of her tools, Seris' charged and then pointed the tip of the sword at the enemy when the creature tried to punch her.
The blast of flames stopped the punch, and then she attacked the head of the creature again…, making it half explode. The power of her magic was quite high, and that was why she looked so proud. Still, Aion couldn't see the point of defeating the enemies like that, and it wasn't even a bit fun… f𝘳ℯℯ𝙬𝒆𝚋𝐧oν𝑒Ɩ.c𝑜𝙢
In any case, Aion made his weapon absorb the body, and then they began to run… after a while, they heard some impacts in the distance, and they sped up to check things…
Aion frowned a little when she saw three of those monsters surrounding a group of six people… they weren't supposed to attack like that in groups. Still, it seemed that those guys took their time fighting the first few enemies.
"Let's help," Sauros declared. "They shouldn't complain much if we leave the materials for them… but we will need to change our weapons."
That was another thing that Aion disliked. They had to be that secretive because of the weapons they had… and it was annoying.
Aion couldn't even use magic, but fortunately, the monsters were stupid enough to ignore them during the approach, and Aion threw his spear at the neck of one of the creatures. The weapon easily pierced the flesh and killed the creature… When that happened, the other enemies took notice of Seris and Sauros, and they turned around to face them.
Aion clicked his tongue since it made things difficult for them, but he kept running to recover his spear. At the same time, the six guys began to attack the enemies with bows and crossbows.
Seris and Sauros focused on dodging while the enemies used their full swings to attack. They had an easy time attacking the left arms of the enemies, thanks to that. Still, what really killed the monsters was the numerous hits they got on their backs.
"Are you guys all right?" Sauros asked after approaching the group.
Upon getting close, Aion saw that the group only had a single Frontliner who had a single shield and couldn't even raise his left arm.
"Yeah, you saved us all," the man with the broken arm said. "If you guys are going ahead, then we won't have any reason to hurry. Take this as a gift since we are so close to the next area."
The man passed to Sauros the map that he had drawn about the second area. It was almost complete, but the important thing was the fact that it showed the place they had to go to reach the next area.
"Thank you, we will make good use of it," Sauros said and then bowed slightly.
The group began to move, and Aion and Seris took the lead while Suaros was studying the map. It seemed legit, but he was trying to read how much they would have to walk to reach the next area.
In any case, Aion and Seris took turns killing the big hairy creatures while Sauros was busy. It took him quite a while to read the entire map.
"It seems that the second area is around three times larger than the first one," Sauros said. "If this is a pattern or at least a good basis for the other areas… maybe there are at least five areas in this labyrinth, and the people here barely explored the fourth area."
"Is that a worst-case scenario estimative based on what you know about other labyrinths?" Aion asked.
Sauros nodded. If the previous group had to return after two weeks, then they got lucky finding the fourth floor so soon since they were supposed to have found some dead ends as well… in any case, that was a bit too much… it will take months for them to reach the core at that rate.
"Relax, we aren't like most people, right?" Seris asked. "We can come up with numerous ways to increase our speed of fighting or moving."
"Don't get cocky," Sauros said and lightly smacked the top of Seris' head. "Only Aion has done enough during this whole mission that gives him the right to act like that, and he isn't, so we shouldn't either."
Aion had some ideas on how to deal with their speed when it comes to exploration. The main one would be to rely on the necromancer class… until now, he didn't see anyone using that, so he would rather keep that hidden for really important situations… his goal didn't chance, he could only go all out once he is sure that his power will be unrivalled.
