Chapter 710: Chapter 710 Missing

Under the support of his youngest son, Han Yanyi, Han Chengde rose from the ground. His expression shifted from anger to kindness. Ye Chenfeng had even managed to eradicate the three major sects, so what ground did Han Chengde have to take a superior stance before Ye Chenfeng? He knew that such behavior would only bring calamity upon the Han Sect.

Han Chengde hurriedly approached Ye Chenfeng, bowing respectfully and said, "So it’s Mr. Ye who has come to visit our Han Sect! This old man was in seclusion all this time and had not heard of Mr. Ye’s illustrious deeds. Please forgive my ignorance."

"No need for any more nonsense, I’m here to find Han Chuxue, bring me to her immediately," Ye Chenfeng said with an icy face.

While Han Chengde was still bewildered, his son Han Yanyi whispered in his ear, briefly explaining how Han Chuxue had returned to the Han Sect and was locked in the dungeon. This news caused Han Chengde’s chest to heave in anger. After all, Han Chuxue was his own granddaughter. When Han Yanyi had taken Han Chuxue out of the Ancient Martial World without permission, it was a fait accompli; hoping to maintain control over the Han Sect within the Han family, Han Chengde chose not to pursue Han Yanyi’s fault.

Seeing his father fuming, Han Yanyi immediately pulled Han Chengde back two steps and whispered, "Dad, now’s not the time to blame me. It seems that Chuxue has a not so simple relationship with Ye Chenfeng. Ye Chenfeng is a demon who destroyed three major sects; if he decides to stand up for Chuxue, not only me but even you might not escape this disaster."

"It seems you are really testing my patience?" As Ye Chenfeng saw Han Yanyi whispering to Han Chengde, his anger grew more intense, and a massive wave of Soul Force surged towards Han Yanyi.

With a "bang!"

Han Yanyi was sent flying, crashing to the ground with his chest caved in. Spurting a mouthful of fresh blood, his face turned instantly pale. He hadn’t expected Ye Chenfeng to suddenly attack. With terror in his eyes, he looked at Ye Chenfeng. Ignoring the blood at the corner of his mouth and gasping for air, he gave a slight cough and said, "Cough, cough, Ye Chen, you can kill me if you want, but you might never see Han Chuxue for the rest of your life. The place where we’ve locked her up is unknown to ordinary disciples of the Han Sect. Even if you massacre the entire Han Sect, it will be of no use."

"Right, Mr. Ye, my son is correct. We can talk this over peacefully. Chuxue is my granddaughter; we wouldn’t harm her," Han Chengde quickly added, aligning himself with his youngest son, Han Yanyi.

At those words, Ye Chenfeng let out a cold laugh and said, "I’ll give you one last chance. Take me to Han Chuxue right now, and perhaps I might spare you. Otherwise, I will cleanse your entire Han Sect with their blood."

Upon hearing Ye Chenfeng’s words, the faces of the people from the Han Sect present turned as pale as paper. Han Yanyi, lying on the ground, swallowed hard and said, "I’ll take you to see Han Chuxue and let her leave with you. Will you really spare us?"

"Do you have a choice? Take me to Han Chuxue right now, and I promise I won’t lay a hand on you," Ye Chenfeng said earnestly. He merely promised not to kill Han Yanyi and the others physically, but with Ye Chenfeng’s current strength, he could kill them without lifting a finger.

Slowly picking himself up, Han Yanyi now saw that he had no other choice but to lead Ye Chenfeng to Han Chuxue and muttered, "I hope you keep your promise, or else our Han Sect will fight you to the bitter end."

Ye Chenfeng internally dismissed Han Yanyi’s feeble threat with an indifferent smile. Sun Hengfei should have also been quick to bring along the Wing Guard Team to the Han Sect. When the time came to fight to the death, it would be a question of whether they were even qualified to do so.

"You go ahead and lead the way. Don’t try any tricks in front of me, or else I’ll show you what pain worse than death feels like," Ye Chenfeng warned Han Yanyi.

Han Yanyi nodded with an unsightly expression and started walking towards the interior of the grand hall, with Ye Chenfeng, Sun Xiaoli, and Han Chengde following behind.

After crossing the grand hall of the Han Sect, they followed Han Yanyi to an abandoned courtyard overgrown with weeds. In the yard, there was a well covered by a large stone slab. Han Yanyi moved the slab aside and said to Ye Chenfeng, "Han Chuxue is down there."

Approaching the well, Ye Chenfeng peered inside and realized it was no ordinary well. The first thing he saw were the stone steps leading down, suggesting an underground dungeon. His killing intent grew as he considered the fact that Han Yanyi had locked Han Chuxue in such a place.

Turning to Sun Xiaoli, Ye Chenfeng said, "Xiaoli, wait here for me outside. If anything happens, call out to me immediately."

Ye Chenfeng then said to Han Yanyi, "You go down first."

Reluctantly, Han Yanyi descended into the well, stepping down the stone staircase, one step at a time. Only after he was on his way did Ye Chenfeng follow. As they descended, the space became wider, and torches for illumination were lit on both sides of the stone walls.

After roughly two minutes, Ye Chenfeng followed Han Yanyi to the bottom. His gaze landed on rows of cells, each confining a person. These prisoners were mostly disheveled old men, filthy and unkempt, with many sporting foolish grins on their faces, a sign most of their minds were likely disturbed.

"Han Chuxue is in the innermost cell," Han Yanyi said to Ye Chenfeng with trepidation.

Ye Chenfeng, with an expressionless face and devoid of any emotion in his voice, responded, "Keep walking ahead."

After about another two minutes, Ye Chenfeng saw her—a familiar face within the relatively clean, innermost cell. Then, he had Han Yanyi step back five or six paces and face away. At this point, Han Yanyi could only obediently do as Ye Chenfeng commanded.

The moment Han Yanyi turned around, Ye Chenfeng drew three silver needles from the acupuncture kit he carried and swiftly inserted two next to Han Yanyi’s ears and one into his neck.

The silver needles next to Han Yanyi’s ears temporarily robbed him of his hearing, while the one in his neck paralyzed his movements. Ye Chenfeng wanted to have a proper reunion with Han Chuxue without interruptions. And by controlling Han Yanyi, there wouldn’t be any tricks to worry about.

After securing Han Yanyi, Ye Chenfeng’s gaze settled once more on Han Chuxue in the nearby cell. He saw her sitting on a low stool, her expression constantly changing. Biting her lip periodically, she murmured to herself, "Looks like my life is coming to an end. Rather than being tormented by those beasts, it might be easier to end it myself."

"I wonder how Chenfeng is doing now? Does he still remember me, or has he long since forgotten?"

With a scoff, a self-deprecating laugh crept from her throat. She whispered, "Han Chuxue, Han Chuxue, isn’t this what’s best for you? Your loving parents have long departed from your side—who else in this world cares whether you live or die?"

A smile of resignation slowly spread across her lips as she sincerely said, "Chenfeng, thank you for showing me what love is, even though you may not love me or have long forgotten me. Nonetheless, you were the only man in my life."

Ye Chenfeng, standing beside Han Chuxue’s cell, heard her every word and cursed internally, "You foolish woman, you silly woman, how could I forget you? Would I, Ye Chenfeng, be such a callous and heartless man?"

"Cough, cough!" Ye Chenfeng walked to the front of Han Chuxue’s cell and cleared his throat gently.

Upon hearing the cough, Han Chuxue, who had been slightly bowing her head, slowly lifted it. When Ye Chenfeng’s familiar face came into her view, she froze entirely, her body trembling uncontrollably.

Their eyes met.

For a long time.

After a very long time.

A tender smile appeared on Ye Chenfeng’s face, one he reserved only for his woman. With concern, he asked, "Silly woman, did you miss me?" (To be continued.
