The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 238: Mind Test
"This is definitely not what I expected..." Neraxis muttered.
For all he knew, he'd only take the blow, get rid of it with his {Primordial Presence} perk, and that would be that.
Now?
He had a feeling his luck would be shit, but definitely not this shit.
"Evangeline, what do you see?" he asked.
"...Kill The Shattered Fragment of the Eternal Sin, Neraxis Valen. It's literally in blue, and they know I hate blue so it really is serious," Evangeline replied seriously. "Though that's a pretty long title, and it's definitely not yours."
"Yep, that thing is tied down to me," Neraxis remarked with a sigh. "I wonder if there's any surefire way to get rid of him."
"Lagus? Why don't you just fight him inside your mind?" Evangeline suggested. "Usually, when there are beings occupying your soul, similar to me, you can meet with them by going inside your own mind."
"That's a bit easier said than done. Could I even beat Lagus if I were to go inside my mind? He's called the Eternal Sin for a reason," Neraxis said. "If anything, me going inside would just get me killed instead."
"It's your mind, Neraxis," Evangeline stated. "You have all the power in there. Even if it was a strong being, you'd be able to deal with them. The same went for me—if we had a fight inside your mind, you would've been able to expel me pretty easily."
"I see... that's interesting," Neraxis replied as he closed his eyes.
However, before he could imagine himself somehow traveling inside his mind, Evangeline tapped him on the cheek.
"Not without training, silly. I'm strong, but that guy you'd be going up against would be even stronger than Amaterasu—and she's a full-blown Celestial-ranked god," Evangeline remarked. "There's a massive difference between each rank, and I can't even imagine the power of those at the Primordial rank or higher."
Neraxis nodded in confirmation.
It would've indeed been a bit naive to go up against the guy who was literally called the Fragment of the Eternal Sin.

For all he knew, Lagus really was Eternal-ranked, and if that were the case, then yeah.
Neraxis would be fucked.
"What kind of training do I have to do exactly?" Neraxis asked. "I'm nearly SSS-ranked, and from what I can see, my stats are pretty damn solid. But I don't think I can get to Saint rank very soon."
"Mind, not body," Evangeline replied, and in the next moment, walked up to him before placing a finger on his forehead. "Endure this for 5 seconds."
"What—"
Neraxis's words were cut off when, all of a sudden, his vision turned black, and not even a moment later, vivid images began flashing.
The death of his sister, the death of his parents, his friends.
And then there were hypothetical situations where Evangeline died in his hands.
However, each one of them was effective, as he could feel his rage boil.
But soon, it all ended, and he was once again greeted with Evangeline looking at him worriedly.
"You failed," she said flatly. "You succumbed to your emotions, so your mind became vulnerable. If you go in against Lagus, you're going to face much worse. So for everyone's sake, don't rush it."
"..." Neraxis nodded speechlessly, and now, it was time to deal with the other matter.
There was a bounty on his head, and from what he could guess, every single person received the same bounty.
However, there was one thing that worried him a little.
The Obscura.
After paying careful attention, he realized they were searching for everything and everyone related to the Sovereigns, Monarchs, and even the Eternal Sin.
But now, Neraxis's identity—even if not by choice—was the Eternal Sin.
"After you get rid of the Eternal Sin, that title will naturally go away—the bounty along with it," Evangeline commented, making him raise a brow.
"Are you still reading my mind?"
"Yep," she giggled. "We're still connected, but sadly the stigmata is gone, so you won't be able to get any new skills from me."
"It doesn't matter as long as you're safe. I can plunder a lot of skills from my world—there are plenty of skill books to go around, after all," Neraxis replied. "But what about you? How do you feel? Are you really a Transcendent?"
Evangeline shook her head. "My strength is still returning, but it's a bit slow. Currently, I should be at Saint+ rank, so it's not too bad."
"Okay, but you're feeling alright, yeah? No pains, no weird stuff?" Neraxis pestered.
"I'm fine," she giggled. "I'm feeling much better now, and no, my body feels as good as new... we're not canceling our plans for next week, are we?"
Neraxis chuckled. "Of course not."
Nonetheless, it was time to get to more serious matters.
"You fixed the plague issue in your kingdom, so what now? Are you planning on rebuilding it?"
A sadistic smile appeared on Evangeline's face. "Screw this kingdom. In fact..."
She suddenly flicked her fingers, and in the very next moment, he felt a surge of mana escape her body before heading outward in the distance.
But not even a few seconds later, the surge of mana came back—just much stronger and more violent.
"Done~" Evangeline giggled. "I wish I had the time to do this back then."
"What did you do?" Neraxis asked, puzzled.
"Oh, it's nothing much..." Evangeline trailed off, glancing into his eyes with a smile. "I just killed every single vampire that had even a single drop of my blood inside them. As a progenitor, you can do that—and even if your followers die, you don't exactly lose your strength either."
"Hmm..." Neraxis whistled in wonder. "You're pretty badass."
"I'm pretty and badass, yeah," Evangeline corrected. "And I'll also be a badass mother, so let's return to your world, okay Neraxis?"
"Whatever you say," Neraxis chuckled and extended his arm, which Evangeline immediately accepted.
He had never tried teleporting anyone alongside himself, but since he could feel a very close connection with Evangeline, he wasn't worried.
Therefore, he focused, remembering the location he was in, the world around it.
However, nothing happened.
"Oh right..." Neraxis facepalmed. "I need the sun as a conduit if I want to teleport anywhere I want."
"So we have to..."
"Yep," Neraxis cut her off with a sigh.
"Let's head back west."
