The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 49: Want to Stay by the Girl’s Side Forever
Leo might have come just at the time Holly woke up; when he knocked on the door, she had just finished washing up.
"Good morning."
Having greeted her in advance, Leo handed the breakfast he was holding to Holly.
"Thanks, bro."
Holly blinked, her eyes filled with a hint of a smile.
Hmm, Leo was quite early; it seemed like he had figured out her waking time. It was perfect timing, not a minute too early or late.
"I have some things to do, Holly. After breakfast, go have fun with your friends, and we’ll head back to Bexley later, alright?"
Leo glanced at the time and said softly, while gently ruffling Holly’s hair.
Holly nodded, "Mm, okay."
After delivering breakfast, Leo left, saying he had errands to run.
"Boss, did you feel the sweetness of romance?"
Diana Curtis leaned in, speaking with a meaningful smile, giving off a gossip-loving vibe.
Hmm, she felt like she had a mouthful of dog food; she hadn’t even had breakfast yet and was already feeling full.
Holly looked at Diana, bewildered: "???"
What’s this?
"Century egg and lean meat congee, healthy choice?"
Diana casually took the bag from Holly’s hand, blinking as she spoke.
Usually, light breakfast is better, but she didn’t really like it, preferring richer flavors.
"Don’t eat then, forget it."
Holly snatched the bag back from Diana, rolling her eyes at her.
Leo had bought a portion for two, and although it was a bit light, since Leo bought it, she would eat it no matter what.
"Eat, eat, eat, how could you not?"
Diana replied casually; she wasn’t foolish enough to refuse free food, even if it was a bit bland.
However you look at it, what others give you is always delicious. What Leo gave Holly seemed as if they were gifts from someone else’s boyfriend; she liked eating what someone else’s boyfriend bought.
If Holly knew what Diana was thinking, she might give her a punch.
——
Leo and Holly had side-by-side tickets. Diana said she would stay in Arkenfall to have fun for a few more days. In truth, she didn’t want to play third wheel to Leo and Holly.
Playing the third wheel is really uncomfortable.
"Hold my hand so you won’t get lost."
Leo naturally reached out for Holly’s hand, speaking in a serious tone, his voice gentle and tender.
The little girl’s hand was small and soft, and it felt really nice to hold.
Leo thought, if he could hold it forever, it might not be a bad thing.
"Oh, alright."
Holly nodded obediently, following Leo.
Although, in her heart, she wasn’t entirely willing; holding hands... oh well, just let it be.
Leo’s hand was large and broad, wrapping hers completely, and she didn’t resist much; it didn’t feel too bad actually.
"Did you have fun, Holly?"
Leo asked.
"I did."
Holly nodded.
"Next time, let me bring you here again?"
Leo turned his head to look at Holly, his eyes full of tenderness, a smile coloring his brows.
Next time, he hoped to bring Holly along again. He hoped next time, Holly could still be by his side, just like now.
"Okay."
Holly nodded, looking all cute and well-behaved.
"Which do you like more, Bexley or Arkenfall?"
Leo asked gently.
Bexley wasn’t as big as Arkenfall; the differences between the two cities were quite large, and Leo didn’t know which city Holly preferred.
"Arkenfall."
Holly replied without hesitation. Although she was born in Bexley, she grew up in Arkenfall; she was more familiar with life in Arkenfall, so she liked it more.
She loved the city that raised her.
"Alright, I’ll bring you here often, we can even stay for a long time."
Leo slightly curled his lip upwards, holding Holly’s hand a bit tighter.
This was his promise to Holly; he could fulfill it, but he didn’t know if Holly needed it.
Leo had known from the start that the little girl didn’t actually have amnesia; she had a purpose, but seeing her soft and gentle appearance, he believed she wouldn’t harm him.
He wasn’t foolish; he had intelligence too. Amnesia caused by heatstroke was practically impossible.
Even the doctors couldn’t find the cause of her symptoms and seeing the little girl genuinely seemed to have lost her memory, so they speculated in this way.
Heatstroke-induced amnesia existed in medical terms, but such cases were exceedingly rare, a one-in-a-million chance.
"Alright."
Holly smiled sweetly.
Hmm, after Leo left Bexley, she surely would leave too. If Leo returned to live in Arkenfall, she would also return to live in Arkenfall, though they would live in different parts of the city.
Once on the plane, Holly started to feel sleepy; she had a tendency to get sleepy when riding any form of transportation.
She would feel sleepy and want to sleep on a car ride, and with planes, it was no exception, but when alone, she often forced herself to stay awake.
"Feeling sleepy? Go ahead and nap if you are."
Leo could tell Holly was trying hard to stay awake, and he gently rubbed her head, his voice soft and warm.
"Mm, alright."
Holly nodded and leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes.
With Leo around, it should be fine to sleep a little, right?
Holly soon fell asleep, and Leo asked the flight attendant for a blanket to cover her, watching Holly tenderly.
The little girl looked so cute sleeping, her eyelashes long, lying there quietly like a sleeping little rabbit.
"I hope in the future, it will be me by your side. I hope you’ll always be happy."
Looking at Holly’s sleeping face, Leo spoke softly.
The little girl indeed seemed very familiar; it felt like he had seen her somewhere before.
Diana had only said she planned to stay in Arkenfall for a few days, but she was lying; she had booked the same flight as Leo and Holly. At that moment, she was sitting right across from Leo and Holly.
With sunglasses on, Diana was staring straight at the duo, a knowing smile on her lips, giving off a rather mischievous vibe.
She leisurely took out her phone to snap pictures, looking at the handsome guy and pretty girl in her gallery, her face full of glee.
Holly was sleeping on Leo’s shoulder, covered with a small blanket, while Leo looked at Holly with affectionate eyes.
To say Leo had no feelings for Holly, nobody would believe it.
[Send me the photos]
Suddenly, Leo raised his phone, the screen blatantly displaying these five bold, enlarged black words.
Diana: "..."
Damn, he actually saw!!!
She thought she was pretty well-hidden, didn’t expect Leo to spot her.
No choice, she resignedly promised herself she would send him the photos after getting off the plane.
