Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Discussing Cooperation

Ethan dropped off Holly Sawyer and Diana Curtis at the hotel and then left. Holly lay sprawled on the bed in a star shape, staring straight at the ceiling.

After sitting on the plane for a day, she truly felt quite tired.

"Boss, are you going over by yourself later, or shall I go with you?"

Diana asked. She was simply accompanying Holly on this trip to Arkenfall, to avoid raising suspicion from Leo Grant.

So she seemed to have nothing to do.

"I’ll go by myself. You can either choose to go out and have fun or stay at the hotel and sleep."

Holly slowly said, one person was enough to handle the matters, no need for Diana.

"Oh, okay."

Diana casually lay on the other bed, took out her laptop, and started playing games.

Modern college students really like playing games, and Diana was no exception, maybe Holly is the odd one out.

Holly was actually quite good at games, but she just didn’t enjoy them, found them boring, and preferred sleeping to passing the remaining time.

"So, boss, when do you plan to go?"

Diana casually asked.

"Three o’clock, it’s noon now, I’ll take a nap first, keep the game sound down."

Holly yawned as she spoke. Though she’d been sleeping on the plane, sleeping on a plane can’t compare to sleeping on a bed.

So at this moment, she really felt sleepy.

Diana obediently turned off the game sound and put on headphones.

Holly wanted to sleep, she naturally wouldn’t disturb her.

——

Holly woke up in the afternoon and tidied herself up a bit before heading out, Diana was still playing games.

[Zero] The largest bar in Arkenfall, Holly put on her mask and walked in familiarly, moving unimpeded along the way.

She leisurely pushed open the door to a private room, where a man in a suit sat inside.

"Boss, you’re finally back."

The man’s eyes instantly brightened upon seeing Holly, with a hopeful gleam in them.

"Mm."

Holly took off her mask, softly responded, and pulled out a chair to sit down, the whole motion somewhat careless.

"He’ll be over shortly, wants to talk to you in person."

Ben Taylor slowly spoke, looking at Holly with some caution, he felt particularly apologetic for troubling Holly.

These matters were originally supposed to be handled by him, but he couldn’t solve them, so he had to bother Holly.

"Mm."

Holly put on her mask again, head down playing with her phone, speaking in a low, faint tone, without any emotion.

About five minutes later, a burly man walked in, his arm tattooed with patterns, exuding a tough vibe.

He looked quite rough.

Hearing the door open, Holly didn’t budge, kept her head down playing with her phone, Ben quickly rose to greet.

"Boss Jordan, you’re here?"

Ben’s tone was slightly cordial, looking at Dylan Pierce.

"Where’s your boss?"

Dylan’s voice sounded somewhat rough, he glanced around the private room but only saw a young girl playing with her phone, nobody else was present.

"This is our boss."

Ben pointed at Holly, speaking with a tone of amusement.

A young girl?

Dylan frowned, could this young girl really qualify as a boss?

Though the girl was masked, she appeared small and quite young, how could she be the boss?

Was this a joke?

"Are you kidding me?"

Dylan pulled out a chair and sat down, his voice was slightly mocking.

Ben said, "I’m not."

He didn’t bother to pretend.

"Just a young girl."

Dylan was entirely disdainful, staring directly at Holly.

Holly felt his gaze, slowly put down her phone, slightly curled her lips, tilted her head at Dylan, "Underestimating me?"

Hmm, her appearance truly was deceiving.

"Young girl, go play on the side, don’t interrupt the adults talking."

Dylan barely acknowledged Holly, thinking she was just Ben’s excuse.

Also felt Ben was quite brainless, of all people, why choose someone who seemed unreliable? 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Dylan dealt in arms trade, this time collaborating with The Pantheon, he demanded to meet The Pantheon’s leader before agreeing to the deal.

The two parties had been negotiating for a long time, Dylan’s side was persistently unyielding, refusing to budge, even though The Pantheon had increased the price significantly, Dylan still wouldn’t relent.

His sole requirement was to meet The Pantheon’s leader, all other conditions were off the table.

The previous arms supplier for The Pantheon couldn’t supply the arms, so they sought Dylan.

The matter should’ve been simple, but Ben couldn’t seal the deal due to this point, so he messaged Holly.

"Hello, I heard you wanted to see me."

Holly slowly stood up, her eyes cold, her voice equally cold.

As if she hadn’t heard Dylan’s previous words.

"I’m here to see The Pantheon’s leader, not some brat."

Dylan unreservedly mocked Holly, in his eyes, she was just a young girl.

"Respect yourself, how are you speaking?"

Ben, initially cordial to Dylan, now couldn’t sit still and shouted.

In the business world, he was always courteous to those he traded with, like a smiling tiger, that’s essential for being a businessman.

Being polite made negotiations simpler.

But Holly was a god-like presence in his mind; he couldn’t bear hearing anyone speak ill of her.

"Getting worked up, don’t want cooperation anymore?"

Dylan raised an eyebrow, acting like an old master, knowing Ben needed the deal, thus gripping his weak spot.

"Then we don’t want it."

Holly’s tone was slightly lazy.

Hmm, she disliked those who bullied by exploiting others’ weaknesses, Dylan belonged to that group, flaunting his power constantly.

Quite annoying, negotiating with unpleasant people, Holly felt was degrading, and quite uncomfortable.

Don’t want it?

Ben paused.

But Dylan laughed, "Really not want it?"

In his view, The Pantheon needed these arms; otherwise, they wouldn’t negotiate for so long.

Compared to The Pantheon, he was insignificant, why seek him if not desperately lacking?

"Call them, have them rush the order. My Pantheon never begs anyone."

Holly placed her right foot on the chair, coldly spoke.

Not wanting to overburden her subordinates, The Pantheon’s arms dealer was actually Pantheon personnel, but felt urgent orders too taxing, hence considering outsourcing.
