The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 256: A Special Day
Time has quietly slipped away between the fingers, and soon it was the sixth day of the Lunar New Year; Leo woke up especially early, but Holly was still sound asleep.
Leo was really anxious; he had been thinking about this day for a long time and was eagerly awaiting its arrival.
The sixth day of the Lunar New Year, a day suitable for weddings and outings, is indeed a pretty good day.
Leo tiptoed into Holly’s room, looking at the little girl’s sleeping face, his heart melted completely.
After today, Holly would truly be considered his person, his legal wife.
"Brother, morning."
Holly opened her eyes and saw Leo standing by her bedside; she yawned slightly and greeted him slowly.
Leo woke up so early.
"Morning."
Leo curled his lips into a smile.
Holly’s half-asleep appearance was surprisingly adorable, making Leo feel as if his heart had melted.
Perhaps the person you like always looks the best no matter how you see them.
"Hmm, I’m getting up."
Holly yawned again and was about to get out of bed.
Today was the day she and Leo were going to get their marriage certificate; she hadn’t forgotten, but felt that it was happening today anyway, and there’s no rush.
There’s no need to rush everything in a single day.
"If you’re sleepy, you can sleep a bit more."
Leo gently rubbed Holly’s head and spoke softly.
He couldn’t bear to let her go.
"I’m not sleepy; today’s the day we’re getting our marriage certificate. I need to tidy myself up properly; brother, you go out first."
Holly yawned again, speaking slowly, her voice soft and gentle.
Perhaps because she had just woken up, Holly’s voice was unusually soft, much softer than usual.
"Okay."
Leo nodded and then left the room.
Holly quickly got up; she chose a black dress, which had a white collar, and put on a beige wool coat over it.
She rarely wore dresses and found them inconvenient, but today felt special, making a dress quite appropriate.
She applied light makeup, wrapped a beige scarf around her neck, wore a beige beret, and had black leather shoes on her feet.
Her outfit was particularly ladylike.
"Why are you wearing so little?"
Leo was sitting downstairs. Hearing the footsteps, he looked up at Holly, and at that moment, he was stunned.
She looked stunning; Holly had never dressed like this before.
He wanted to say she looked stunning, but swallowed the words and instead asked why she was dressed so lightly.
Ordinarily, the little girl was always wrapped up tightly, and compared to that, she was indeed wearing quite little.
"Not cold, it’s just right."
Holly shook her head slightly as she spoke slowly, her voice surprisingly gentle.
"The little girl is really beautiful today."
Leo complimented warmly.
"So am I not usually beautiful?"
Holly blinked lightly and responded, a playful light in her eyes.
"Beautiful, like a celestial fairy in my heart."
"No one can be more beautiful than you."
"Holly is a fairy from the heavens, descending to meet me; I’m truly extremely lucky."
Leo’s eyes were tinted with laughter; he stepped closer to Holly and pulled her into his arms.
The little girl was indeed truly beautiful.
The little girl was even more beautiful today, having put on makeup.
It’s often said there are no ugly women in this world, only lazy ones.
Though Holly looked great even with a bare face, her makeup indeed made her look even more beautiful.
"That’s exaggerated."
Leo’s compliments were all taken in by Holly, though she expressed humility verbally.
Being complimented on one’s beauty does indeed bring a sense of joy.
Leo pinched Holly’s chin with his fingers and leaned down to kiss her, but Holly turned her face away, and Leo’s kiss landed on her cheek instead.
"No."
Holly shook her head, indicating refusal.
Confusion lingered in Leo’s eyes.
"I’ve put on lipstick; it’ll wear off soon, and I don’t feel like reapplying it."
Holly spoke earnestly, her tone particularly sincere.
To be blunt, Holly was just lazy; she figured the lipstick could last quite a while. If it wore off now, she’d have to reapply, which she was too lazy to do—a tiring hassle.
"Alright, whatever you say."
Leo chuckled silently.
Alright then, as long as the little girl is happy, that’s what matters most; everything else isn’t as important.
"But you’ll need to eat breakfast later, and breakfast will make the lipstick wear off too."
Leo reminded her, a hint of humor in his eyes.
Eating is when lipstick wears off the most easily.
Holly: "..."
Holly was silent for a moment, "I’ll skip eating."
She decisively put aside the idea of breakfast.
Leo: "You might get hungry."
"I’ll manage; once we get the certificate, we can eat something delicious."
Holly lightly bit her lip and spoke slowly.
Alright then, she’ll skip breakfast; she’s really a chronic case of laziness.
"Better eat something; I’ll reapply it for you, would you like that?"
Leo was still worried Holly would get hungry; he gently rubbed Holly’s head and spoke softly. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
The little girl is too lazy to reapply, so he’ll do it for her.
"So you know how?"
Holly raised an eyebrow and questioned Leo in return.
"No."
Leo was silent for a moment, then spoke slowly.
Alright, he doesn’t know how.
He suddenly realized there are a lot of things he doesn’t know; it looks like he’ll need to learn them one by one.
"Then forget it, let’s go out."
Holly shrugged her shoulders and spoke slowly, prompting Leo to head out.
She wanted to get the marriage certificate quickly and then eat something; in the end, the allure of food seemed more enticing.
"Alright," Leo nodded and handed Holly a cup of hot milk, "Drink this."
Skipping breakfast is fine, but drink some milk to settle the stomach.
Otherwise, his precious one might really get hungry.
"Alright."
Holly finished her milk, and the two of them went out.
Spring was here, though the wind was still somewhat cold, but it didn’t have much impact; it wasn’t as bone-chilling as the winter cold. The spring wind was gentle.
"Brother, should we invite them for a meal?"
Getting closer to the civil affairs bureau, Holly turned her head to Leo and slowly inquired.
They hadn’t told anyone about getting their certificate; she wondered if they should host a meal.
Being her first wedding, Holly didn’t understand much, so she felt a bit clueless.
"Probably should,"
Leo was silent for a moment, and then spoke slowly.
Whether they should or not, hosting a meal isn’t something they can’t afford.
"Let’s enjoy our private world today, and host a meal for them tomorrow. What do you think?"
Leo suggested, not wanting their private world to be disturbed today.
Today is a special day, so he wanted to spend it alone with Holly.
