Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Holly Sawyer Stands Up for Her Own

On New Year’s Eve morning, Holly woke up early, bustling about, even though she usually lazed around.

"I asked them to come over and help, can’t let them just eat for free."

Leo took out his phone, intending to call Noah and Nathaniel.

Holly was busy preparing ingredients early in the morning, and seeing the young girl spinning around like a top, he felt quite sorry for her, but couldn’t say anything.

Holly wanted to stay busy, and if he tried to stop her, she would surely be unhappy.

"Alright."

Holly nodded.

"I’ll do it, you go and busy yourself with something else."

Leo turned his head and saw Holly already picking seeds from the green peppers, he hurriedly went forward to stop her.

The seeds could sting your hands; he feared Holly might get hurt, so he decided to handle it himself.

"Alright."

Holly nodded and then went off to busy herself with other tasks.

After a busy morning, the ingredients were all prepared, and after lunch, they moved on to putting up couplets and such.

"It’s still more fun celebrating New Year at Leo’s place."

Noah said while putting up couplets.

At home, he always felt suffocated, without the right atmosphere, but it felt much freer at Leo’s place.

Previously, the three brothers used to spend New Year’s together, rarely attending family parties under the guise of disinterest.

"Whenever I go back, they keep suggesting I give up this job, it’s overwhelming."

Nathaniel patted his head and spoke slowly, a sense of helplessness in his tone.

Quite helpless indeed.

Everyone thought he should inherit the family business, and believed his current job was not serious.

Nathaniel enjoyed his current profession; despite being busy, he never felt exhausted or entertained thoughts of giving it up.

"As for me, they’re always pushing me to go on blind dates, even though I’ve said I have a girlfriend, they still expect someone with matching status."

Noah sighed deeply, as the sole heir to the Raines Family, it would all be his future, but he wasn’t opposed to it, compared to Leo and Nathaniel, his family issues were simpler.

He’s not concerned with identity; he likes Nancy Miller, and plans to be with her forever.

Though getting past his family might be challenging.

He understood Nancy; if she knew... she would definitely leave without hesitation, whether she liked him or not wasn’t important to her.

Therefore, he needed to resolve these issues before Nancy found out.

Once everything was ready, they sat in the living room chatting, with snacks spread across the coffee table.

"Sorry for being late, got into a fight on the way."

Cecilia Bennett rushed in, poured herself a glass of water, and drank it quickly.

After finishing a glass, Clara Ross placed her water on the coffee table, speaking with some annoyance.

Cecilia’s face was slightly red, her hair a bit messy, along with her clothes, having an indistinct scratch on her face.

She had started heading over in the morning but was delayed quite some time due to a small issue.

"What’s wrong?"

Holly’s eyebrows furrowed instantly, she stood up and quickly walked over to Clara’s side.

She examined Cecilia to see if she was hurt, her eyes sharp with concern.

Having fought frequently in her childhood, she immediately knew Cecilia had been involved in a fight.

Noah and Nathaniel looked at each other, internally feeling a wave of disbelief.

Are Holly’s friends all this hardcore?

They’d clearly noticed Cecilia had genuinely been in a fight.

"Just a small issue, haven’t exercised in a while, got a bit rusty."

Cecilia waved her hand joints slightly, speaking slowly, her tone calm.

Just a small problem.

Playing with Holly, she’d never shied away from fighting, the duo were fearless back then.

Despite both being quite attractive, there were no shortage of admirers, but no one dared approach.

Since going abroad, she’d dedicated herself solely to her studies, focusing hard on academics, and hadn’t fought in quite some time.

Though Holly still fought brilliantly, she’d toned down a lot, avoiding fights where possible, learning to disguise her temper.

Her gentle demeanor didn’t suggest someone prone to fighting.

"Who messed with you?"

Holly, being protective, hadn’t relaxed her frown, scrutinizing Cecilia’s face with an undeniable tone.

"No one, just felt itchy and ended up fighting someone."

Cecilia shook her head lightly, speaking with nonchalance.

Being New Year’s Eve, she didn’t want Holly worrying over this, especially since it was her who picked the fight, it wasn’t worth fussing over.

"You know my temper."

Holly’s gaze turned cold instantly, continuing to examine Clara’s face.

Cecilia had a small scratch on her face, which she may not have even noticed.

Leo watched silently, saying nothing.

Holly’s persistent nature was well-known.

She was highly protective; while she could ignore negative remarks about herself, if it involved someone she cared for, she could not rest until it was resolved.

"It’s nothing, it’s New Year’s Eve."

Cecilia sat down, speaking slowly.

"Get up."

Holly grabbed Cecilia’s collar and lifted her from the sofa like a chick.

Cecilia: "..."

What the hell, lifting her like this in front of everyone? She had to maintain her dignity!

Noah: "..."

Nathaniel: "..."

They had long known Holly’s strength, but hadn’t expected it was this significant.

They silently shrank their necks, mentally noting not to provoke Holly, otherwise they might lose face instantly.

Holly was a woman, Leo’s woman, they wouldn’t dare touch her. Besides, even if they dared, they weren’t sure they could take Holly on.

Holly appeared petite and harmless, but her status was astonishing, they’d witnessed her violent moments firsthand.

"Geez, so many people watching, where’s my dignity?"

Cecilia covered her face, looking miserable.

Ah, even though it seemed there weren’t many people, and they were all familiar, she still needed to preserve her dignity.

The image she’d carefully maintained was now truly gone, gone, completely vanished.

Boo hoo.

While covering her face, Cecilia suddenly realized her cheek hurt a bit, unsure if it was due to touching it, but it certainly stung.

Damn, didn’t seem to get hit on the face, right?

Cecilia grew dazed.

"Do you need dignity?"

"If we don’t clear this up today, I’ll knock you down."

Holly raised an eyebrow, speaking slowly, without a hint of jest in her tone.
