Chapter 138: Chapter 138: Nora Jennings

Leo Grant went to a meeting, and Holly Sawyer expertly navigated her way to Leo’s office. Most people in the company already knew about Holly, so they treated her with politeness.

No one dared to block Holly’s path.

Knowing Holly was coming, the heater was turned on in Leo’s office, and as she opened the door, a wave of warmth greeted her.

She really liked this feeling; it dispelled the chill from her body.

Leo’s desk was covered with documents piled high. Holly sat at Leo’s desk, flipped through the documents, and then picked up a pen to start working on them.

Hmm, with so many documents, Leo must be working really hard, right?

She might as well kindly help Leo handle some of them.

"Miss Sawyer, please don’t mess with Mr. Grant’s documents."

The office door suddenly opened, and a woman with a neat ponytail walked in. She saw Holly flipping through Leo’s documents and writing on them, instantly frowning.

Leo’s documents were very important, and even though Holly was Leo’s girlfriend, she shouldn’t be so casual with them.

"I’m helping him handle them."

Holly looked up, speaking slowly, her brows furrowed.

Coming into Leo’s office so casually?

Sheesh, Holly felt quite dissatisfied.

"Miss Sawyer, you don’t understand anything. Mr. Grant prefers to handle his own documents personally."

Nora Jennings stepped forward, speaking sternly, criticizing Holly’s actions.

As Leo’s girlfriend, Holly could usually act spoiled and willful, but when it came to work, she shouldn’t interfere.

"He doesn’t mind, why do you?"

Holly closed the documents on the desk. She looked up, her eyes carrying a hint of coldness.

She was already a bit displeased with Nora entering Leo’s office without knocking, and now Nora was criticizing her, which made Holly genuinely unhappy.

"That’s because Mr. Grant spoils you, Miss Sawyer. But you shouldn’t take advantage of that to act spoiled."

Nora spoke righteously, a look of accusation on her face.

Nora was told by Leo, who had forgotten to take some documents, to come and fetch them, which is why she entered without knocking.

Holly gave Nora a cold glance, saying nothing.

"Mr. Grant needs the documents now, so I’m going to take them over. Please don’t mess with them."

Nora took a document from the desk and then walked out, but not before reminding Holly once more.

Holly rolled her eyes at Nora, said nothing, and continued working on the documents.

Since Leo worked so hard, she definitely wanted to share some of his burden.

Leo’s meeting took quite a while. Holly had worked through nearly half of the documents, rubbing her slightly sore hands and stretching lazily.

Handling these things was quite challenging, especially when sleepiness crept in. Holly already felt a bit drowsy at that point.

A half-hour later, the office door opened, and Leo entered, followed by Nora, who was carrying some documents.

"Were you getting impatient?"

Seeing Holly, Leo’s eyes lit up with a smile. Seeing her really lifted his spirits.

"Not really."

Holly blinked, a smile also gracing her face.

Seeing Leo made her quite happy too.

"How long have you been here?"

Leo walked closer, gently rubbing Holly’s head, his voice incredibly gentle.

Nora stood behind Leo, arms full of documents, opening her mouth and closing it again, as if wanting to say something but stopping herself.

Hmm, seems she wants to complain.

Holly blinked, looking up at Leo. "About half an hour."

She even held out her fingers, counting quietly.

"Sorry for making you wait long. I’ll try not to let it happen again."

Leo pulled Holly into his arms, speaking slowly.

This young girl had waited so long for him. It really made him feel guilty. If he had known she’d arrived so early, he would have ended the meeting sooner.

Nothing was more important than the young girl. For Leo, Holly was the most important; everything else, including work, took a backseat.

"No, work is important."

Holly shook her head, saying she wasn’t someone so demanding. In choosing between work and her, she hoped Leo would choose work.

She could take care of herself, be by herself. As long as Leo had free time to pay attention to her, that was enough.

Leo emphasized, "No, you’re important."

It’s often said that girls need enough security in a relationship, and he intended to give Holly all the security she needed.

"In this half-hour, I wasn’t idle. I helped you with the documents."

Holly caught Nora’s eye, then looked at Leo, blinking playfully, her tone particularly tender as if seeking praise.

Hmm, Nora wanted to complain?

No need, she could say it herself without Nora complaining.

Did Nora think Leo would blame her? Of course not. Even if she doodled on the documents, Leo wouldn’t blame her.

But she wasn’t going to be unreasonable either; she wouldn’t do something she couldn’t handle lightly, because that would only add to Leo’s burden.

"How much did you manage to do?"

Leo’s lips curved into a smile. Seeing that half the documents on the desk had been dealt with, he felt very delighted.

The young girl had helped him with the documents, which certainly made him happy.

"About half. My hands are a bit sore, my neck’s a little stiff, and my eyes hurt a bit."

Holly gently bit her lip, speaking sweetly, describing her discomfort, but her eyes were filled with laughter.

Hmm, she was really feeling a bit uncomfortable; working on the documents made her sleepy.

Nora lightly bit her lip, watching Holly and Leo with a look of wanting to speak but holding back.

She’d wanted to bring this up to Leo before he came in, but when he entered, he seemed unfazed.

Was Leo too indulgent of Holly? He wasn’t even upset in this situation.

Grant Group was big, and particularly these days, the company was extremely busy. Leo himself had been working overtime, dealing with many things personally.

And now, he was actually indulging Holly’s behavior.

"Why are you still here?"

Leo looked back, frowning slightly at Nora, who stood behind him with a blank expression.

His usual secretary was on a business trip, handling other matters, so Nora was temporarily hired.

He only instructed Nora to bring the documents over, never asked her to stay so long in his office.

"Sorry, Mr. Grant, I’ll leave right after placing the documents."

Nora hurriedly set down the documents, her expression somewhat flustered.

"Um, Mr. Grant..."

Just a few steps away, Nora suddenly turned back, looking at Leo with hesitation.

Holly glanced casually at Nora and yawned.

"Speak."

Leo’s tone was cold.

All his gentleness was reserved for Holly.
