Chapter 104 -8: Reincarnation is a Technical Skill

Of course, all these were just Xu Mo’s speculations.

If that were indeed the case, then Yang Ming was a man who cared both about face and money.

He presented himself as open and aboveboard, handing over all the Federation credits to the Hunter Guild, keeping none for himself.

Such a person, if exposed, would probably become an enemy and turn hostile immediately.

Furthermore, they didn’t have any evidence.

Qin Fu was in a sour mood, he naturally understood this and knew he could no longer ask Yang Ming for money.

Moreover, they hadn’t considered the scenario where monsters attacked the city, and since they were old acquaintances, they didn’t sign a contract.

The other party could possibly deny the debt, and he had no way to appeal.

“The base will soon be under attack, we should leave,” Li Man said at this moment.

“Mm,” Yang Ming nodded.

The group looked towards Xu Mo and Qin Fu.

For safety reasons, they had returned in the Academy’s vehicle.

“If you don’t have a vehicle, you can come into the city with us,” Lin Xi said when she saw Qin Fu and the others looking somewhat embarrassed.

Since she spoke up, the others naturally had no objections, after all, she was an instructor.

Jiang Tong was the most displeased, with Xiao Qi constantly clinging to Sun Xiaoxiao and chattering away.

“Thank you,” Xu Mo responded.

The group continued on their way towards the direction of the city.

At the entrance of the city, countless vehicles gathered, all belonging to people escaping to the city from various bases and ruins.

The city opened several emergency lanes, allowing vehicles to enter urgently, even without checking identity cards.

Monsters had already begun attacking the outskirts of the city, and if passage wasn’t granted, the city’s entrance would become blocked.

This saved Xu Mo some trouble; he had thought that if they checked identity cards, he would ask Lin Xi for help.

The people from the Academy, perhaps, wouldn’t be subject to as strict a check when returning to the city.

However, after entering the city, they were still stuck.

Leaving the driver in the car, they abandoned the vehicle and proceeded on foot.

Walking through the congested area, Xu Mo and the others felt as though they were in a dream as they moved through the city.

Ahead, the wide avenue was teeming with various vehicles and a continuous flow of people.

Above their heads, various fighters were preparing for departure, and from a distance, armored cars were coming, heading towards the outskirts of the city.

The entire city was enveloped by an energy dome, devoid of the intense heat found in the ruins.

“We’re back,” Sun Xiaoxiao stretched and yawned, having left her mecha in the vehicle as well.

Sun Xiaoxiao, around fifteen or sixteen years old, with a height of one meter sixty and a ponytail, was of the petite and cute type.

Her round eyes were bright and intelligent at a glance.

“Why do you keep staring at me?” Sun Xiaoxiao noticed Xiao Qi kept sneaking glances at her.

“You look nice,” Xiao Qi answered.

Sun Xiaoxiao pursed her lips; Xiao Qi had been a nuisance throughout the journey.

She had many suitors, but none as shameless as Xiao Qi.

“What are we doing here now?” Xiao Qi asked.

“We’re waiting for someone to pick us up,” Xiao Xiao said, “Steel Dome City is so big, are we supposed to walk all the way back?”

Steel Dome City.

A city that housed a population of hundreds of millions.

At a glance, it was a vast city of steel.

In Xu Mo’s previous life, the population of this city had already surpassed that of many countries.

Above them, a flying device approached, descending and landing not far in front of their group.

This flying device was silver-white and looked extremely cool, like a steel monster capable of flight.

The hatch opened, and a fat man stepped out.

“My darling daughter, you had your dad worried to death,” the fat man ran over and circled around Xiaoxiao a few times, inspecting her closely.

“Dad, that’s enough, don’t embarrass me,” Sun Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes.

“As long as you’re fine,” Uncle Sun chuckled, his eyes crinkling as he smiled, and turned to the crowd approaching, “Thank you, Instructor Yang, Miss Lin, for your efforts, and thank you, students, for taking care of our Xiaoxiao.”

“Uncle Sun, Xiaoxiao took care of us more like,” Jiang Tong stepped forward and said, “Xiaoxiao performed the best in this trial.”

“Really?” Uncle Sun beamed with a smile, “Has our Xiaoxiao grown up?”

“This trial encountered a monster attack, and Xiaoxiao indeed performed very well,” Yang Ming also stepped forward and said.

“That’s because Instructor Yang was looking out for her,” Uncle Sun was very good at speaking, smiling amiably at everyone.

“Xiaoxiao, your dad is so cool, how should I address him?” Xiao Qi asked Xiaoxiao with some difficulty.

Mecha, flying devices.

In the Underworld, where would one see such spectacles?

Xiao Qi felt he was about to strike it rich.

However, he was pondering what would be the appropriate way to address Uncle Sun.

Dad?

He would have liked to, if only the others would agree.

“What do you mean ‘how to address’?” Sun Xiaoxiao looked at Xiao Qi speechlessly.

“Xiaoxiao, who is this?” Uncle Sun saw Xiao Qi and asked with a smile.

“Uncle, my name is Xiao Qi, Xiaoxiao’s good friend,” Xiao Qi said.

“Nice to meet you, Xiao Qi,” Uncle Sun responded with a smile, “Come over to our house sometime.”

Xiao Qi’s eyes lit up, “Really? I’m free right now.”

Uncle Sun blinked, taken aback for a moment, then said with a laugh, “Sure, why don’t we all go to my house for dinner?”

“Dad, don’t mind him,” Sun Xiaoxiao was at a loss for words.

This guy was too familiar for comfort.

“Uncle Sun, he is the Desert Hunter you hired,” Jiang Tong said.

Uncle Sun immediately understood.

He naturally recognized the instructors and students from the Academy.

The ones he didn’t recognize were likely to be Desert Hunters.

However, Uncle Sun’s face still bore a professional smile, showing no signs of his inner thoughts.

“Desert Hunters can endure hardship; I do hope Xiaoxiao can learn from them,” Uncle Sun continued, “Such a young Desert Hunter, very brave.”

“Brave?” Sun Xiaoxiao scoffed, he was either hiding behind her or lying on her… no, on the mecha.

So brave!

“Instructor, is the trial mission considered complete?” Sun Xiaoxiao asked, looking at Yang Ming and Lin Xi.

“With the city under monster attack, naturally, there’s no way to continue the trial,” Yang Ming said. “Let’s consider it complete.”

“Yay,” Sun Xiaoxiao smiled and said, “Then I’ll see you all when school starts.”

“Alright,” everyone nodded in agreement.

“Goodbye, Instructor, goodbye Brother Benjamin, Sister Li Man, Sister Su Rou, Jiang Tong, Hughes,” Xiao Xiao greeted everyone one by one and then glanced at Xiao Qi with a twinkle in her eye, “Hope to see you again when there’s a chance.”

“Sure, I’ll come to find you,” Xiao Qi nodded.

Sun Xiaoxiao nonchalantly turned and took Uncle Sun’s hand.

We probably won’t see each other again.

But it was interesting, nonetheless.

Uncle Sun nodded toward the crowd, his gaze lingering a moment on Benjamin and Lin Xi before he boarded the flying device with Sun Xiaoxiao.

Xu Mo was keenly aware of this.

It seemed that Benjamin and Lin Xi were of particular interest to Uncle Sun.

Uncle Sun is sharp-witted; Benjamin has strong talents, and there’s something about Lin Xi.

Afterward, vehicles arrived one after another, picking up Su Rou, Li Man, and Hughes.

Li Man seemed a little reluctant to leave.

At that moment, a military vehicle stopped in front of them, and someone got out to open the passenger door.

“Instructor, I’ll be going now,” Benjamin said after greeting Yang Ming and Lin Xi, then got into the car.

Yang Ming and Lin Xi stood at the front, while Xu Mo and the others were behind.

Jiang Tong was the only student left who hadn’t left yet.

Xu Mo, Xiao Qi, and Elsa were still curiously observing the city.

For them, everything in the city was new and striking to their senses.

Elsa was even fantasizing about what the music academy would be like.

“Are we going to live in the city from now on?” Elsa murmured softly to herself.

Xu Mo also looked towards the city, filled with imagination.

Even though they still had nothing.

“Damn, I forgot to ask Xiao Xiao where she lives,” Xiao Qi seemed to have remembered something.

A vehicle pulled up beside them, stopping next to Jiang Tong.

Jiang Tong turned his head to glance at Xiao Qi.

He had endured Xiao Qi for a long time on this journey.

“What could you do even if you asked?” Jiang Tong said with a mocking glance, his gaze surveying the crowd, lingering on Elsa briefly as he coldly remarked, “Lowly creatures.”

After saying that, he got into the car and slammed the door shut.

The vehicle sped off, disappearing in an instant.

Elsa, caught in her fantasies, suddenly turned pale, her heart feeling as if it had been struck hard, causing her misery.

Lowly creatures, huh?

She had been gradually forgetting her ‘monster’ identity since Xu Mo and the others never treated her as a freak.

She had started to forget and began imagining a new life.

But Jiang Tong’s words had painfully stung her.

Xu Mo’s gaze followed the direction of Jiang Tong’s departing vehicle, a cold light flashing in his eyes.

‘Monster’ was a sensitive issue for Elsa’s heart, and Jiang Tong’s words had hurt her.

Of course, perhaps Jiang Tong wasn’t only referring to Elsa but was mocking all of them.

Even so, Elsa would think it was because of her.

“Elsa,” Xu Mo called out softly.

“I’m fine,” Elsa forced a smile, telling herself it didn’t matter.

She was already doing well, having all that she now did, a new life.

She had finally made it to the world above, and she would live on, strong.

“Lin Xi, hasn’t your ride arrived yet?” Yang Ming asked Lin Xi.

“I’ll wait a bit longer,” Lin Xi said.

“Then I’ll be on my way,” Yang Ming said before departing.

Lin Xi nodded and then left on her own.

Clearly, no one had come to pick her up.

Lin Xi turned her head to see that Xu Mo and the others were still there.

She approached Xu Mo and asked, “Do you have a Communicator?”

Xu Mo shook his head.

She rummaged through her backpack, pulled out a card, and handed it to Xu Mo, “If you need any help, you can contact me.”

Xu Mo accepted the card, aware that Lin Xi was offering help because of the assistance he’d provided during the earlier battle in the ruins.

“Thank you,” Xu Mo said, securing the card safely.

A piercing, shrill noise arrived, and a fiery red sports car drifted in, stopping beside Lin Xi.

Lin Xi frowned slightly but then saw a fashionably dressed woman step out from the car, sunglasses in place, and said to Lin Xi, “I’m a little late.”

“You overslept, didn’t you?” Lin Xi glared at the woman.

“Aren’t I here to pick up Miss Lin now?” The woman smiled as she opened the passenger door, her long, slender legs particularly striking.

“High heels?” Lin Xi frowned. “I’ll drive.”

“Sure thing,” the woman climbed into the passenger seat.

Lin Xi turned back to Xu Mo and the others and said, “Goodbye.”

“Goodbye,” Xu Mo and his companions nodded, and Lin Xi took the driver’s seat.

The fiery red sports car roared loudly, zooming away.

“The world above really is fascinating,” Xiao Qi remarked.

The lovely heiress Sun Xiaoxiao.

Beautiful sisters.

Lucky Brother Mo!

Qin Fu watched those departing figures and sighed quietly to himself.

“Being reborn is really a matter of skill,” Qin Lan remarked with a sigh.

Seeing these Extraordinary Academy instructors and students, they realize that even a lifetime of struggle won’t match others’ starting points!
