Chapter 151 - 151 – Under Great Pressure of Competition

Justin's sudden visit wasn't just a casual stop—it had a hidden agenda.

His real goal today was to show Nick and Marcia a series of photos. In them, John was seen shopping with a strange woman, and the two were later spotted entering a hotel together. Clearly, their relationship seemed far from innocent.

Justin knew that once Nick and Marcia saw these photos, they would grow disgusted with John—believing he was playing with their daughter's feelings.

That was phase one of Justin's plan: destroy Nick and Marcia's affection for John.

Phase two?

He planned to show the same photos to Queenie. As long as she was a normal woman with any sense of pride, she would surely be outraged—and hopefully, walk away from John for good.

Then his opportunity would finally come.

Although Justin wasn't exactly a saint himself, most of his romantic entanglements had taken place in the Eastern Region. Now that he had returned home, he presented himself as a refined, successful young entrepreneur.

That was his image now.

Justin hadn't originally planned to visit Queenie in person today, but when he heard that Nick and Marcia were going to see her, he realized he could execute both phases of his plan at once. A direct ambush.

Perfect timing.

So he held back his intentions for now, deciding to tag along with them to see Queenie first.

When They Arrived...

Queenie was relaxing in the living room. As soon as she saw them walk in, she stood up with a warm smile.

"Dad, Mom, you're here!"

Nick and Marcia had been visiting more frequently in recent months, mostly trying to get on John's good side. At first, Queenie found it strange. But over time, she had grown used to it.

Their current way of getting along was surprisingly pleasant.

The long-standing misunderstandings that had built up over the past twenty-five years were finally starting to dissolve. The emotional gap was closing.

She welcomed them warmly. But the moment her eyes landed on Justin, who was following behind them, her expression turned frosty.

"Father, Mother, why did you bring him here?"

She didn't even try to hide her displeasure.

Queenie had a deeply negative impression of Justin. When John had offended the son of the Underground Monarch, Justin hadn't helped. Worse—he had sneered in schadenfreude, something Queenie had witnessed firsthand.

She'd never forgotten it.

Nick gave an awkward smile. "Queenie, he just came by to visit today. Treat him as a normal... relative."

Yes.

Relative.

That was the only excuse Nick and Marcia could come up with.

The Yeats and Wood families had deep business ties. It wasn't realistic to cut ties over a romantic dispute between the younger generation. Since they couldn't become in-laws, they might as well remain family friends.

Seeing that her parents were trying to save face, Queenie didn't kick Justin out. But she made no attempt to speak to him either.

Justin was already in a foul mood from her cold treatment. Eventually, he couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Queenie, I know you don't like me, but there's something I need to tell you. John is not a good person."

"What did you just say?"

Queenie's expression shifted instantly. Her eyes sharpened as she stared coldly at Justin.

Did he just insult her Little John?

If anyone wasn't a good guy, it was him.

Nick and Marcia frowned. They were clearly unhappy with Justin's remark. They silently cursed him—What is wrong with him? Didn't he promise us he wouldn't act up? Why's he stirring trouble already?

And to think he was supposed to be a highly educated man who studied abroad...

Justin noticed the shift in the room's energy, but he had already said too much to back down. So he continued, "I know this might be hard to hear, but I just don't want Queenie to be kept in the dark."

He handed over his phone, showing them the photos Levi had sent him the night before.

Nick and Marcia's faces darkened.

Damn it!

The young man in the hotel photo was clearly John. And the woman beside him was undeniably attractive.

The photo quality left no room for doubt.

For a brief moment, Queenie did feel a twinge of crisis.

Nick frowned, but Marcia remained oddly calm. She simply pointed outside and said, "Look—speak of the devil."

Sure enough, John and Kate were walking through the courtyard outside the front door.

It suddenly clicked.

So that was the woman in the photo? Not only was it a misunderstanding, but Queenie actually knew her.

Marcia turned to Justin, voice cool. "Would you like me to introduce her to you?"

"This beautiful young lady is my fourth younger sister. Including her, I have six younger sisters, all of whom are very close to John. And even if all seven of us went to the hotel and stayed in the same room with him, it would still be none of your business, Mr. Justin."

Ouch.

She might as well have called him a meddlesome clown.

Justin's jaw tightened. He had no response.

Marcia sighed dramatically. "Ugh, so there are six competitors... No, wait—if we count Emily Wood, that's seven! Queenie, listen to me. John is a very good man. You have to hold onto him!"

There she went again.

Queenie blushed instantly. "Mom, stop saying weird things... We're just siblings. Pure sibling relationships..."

Her voice trailed off, growing quieter, clearly lacking conviction.

Seeing her flustered expression, Justin nearly flipped the table in frustration.

Damn it! I really ended up looking like the fool again!
