The Seven Sisters and Their Hidden King-Chapter 148: Fourth Sister’s Drea
Chapter 148 - 148: Fourth Sister’s Drea
hapter 148: Fourth Sister's Dream
It was a quiet afternoon.
After confirming the birthmark on John's body, Kate had enjoyed a much-needed rest. Later that evening, she planned to go shopping with him. After all, it had been years since they'd last seen each other—of course, she wanted to reconnect and strengthen their bond.
While Kate slept, John headed to the Wood Family estate.
Since his fourth sister had no intention of taking his prized bike back to New York, what choice did he have? He couldn't just leave such a valuable treasure unattended.
So, he decided to temporarily store it at the Wood residence.
When Emily Wood saw John arrive, her face lit up with joy. Then, as if remembering something important, she suddenly recalled her father's earlier "mission"—to win Doctor John over within six months.
To achieve that, she needed to create more opportunities to spend time with him.
"Doctor John," Emily said, eyes gleaming, "our school is planning to launch a traditional Chinese medicine interest class. Would you be willing to be our instructor?"
Emily was a teacher at Providence College.
Teaching was her passion.
Originally, Alton had wanted Emily to manage the family business, but she'd shown zero interest in that path. In the end, he had no choice but to let her follow her heart.
She was his daughter, after all. He couldn't bear to be too harsh with her.
What really frustrated Alton, however, was his son, Noah—who was, in his eyes, even more hopeless than Emily. Lacking both drive and competence, Noah was nowhere near ready to take over the family legacy.
But when Alton looked at John, he saw a flicker of hope.
So when Emily brought up the interest class, Alton's expression turned subtly eager.
He, too, hoped that his daughter might grow closer to John through this opportunity.
Seeing the expectant looks in both of their eyes, John smiled and nodded. "Since you think so highly of me, I'll give it a try."
He had plenty of free time anyway.
More importantly, he wanted to pass on his knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine to the younger generation. In this modern age, traditional medicine faced growing skepticism, thanks to too many frauds and charlatans tarnishing its reputation.

That was something John couldn't stand.
The old Taoist priest who had taught him had passed down profound, authentic medical techniques—especially ancient acupuncture methods. John was determined not to let those precious traditions be lost to time.
Hearing his agreement, Emily practically beamed. "That's amazing! I'll apply to the principal tomorrow to get the interest class approved—"
Oops.
She blurted that out.
Earlier, she had claimed that the school had already planned the class and simply wanted John to teach. But her words just now clearly revealed that the class would only happen because John had agreed to teach.
Two very different stories.
Did she just expose her scheme?
Emily's heart skipped a beat. Her face flushed as she snuck a glance at John. Fortunately, he didn't seem bothered. Relieved, she scampered back to her room, happily preparing her proposal.
Alton, too, looked satisfied. But after a brief pause, his eyes narrowed slightly. "Doctor John," he asked cautiously, "have Nick and Marcia been giving you any trouble lately?"
He asked as if casually—but he was fishing for a very specific answer.
Ideally, John would say yes.
The more tension there was between Nick's family and John, the less likely it was for their daughter Queenie to end up with Lu Yun. That scenario brought Alton immense satisfaction.
Of course, he couldn't say any of this out loud. He didn't want John to think he was gloating over family drama.
"No," John replied with a faint smile. "Quite the opposite, actually. They've been rather friendly lately—especially Marcia. She's been calling me 'good son-in-law' so often it's making me a little embarrassed."
"What?!"
Alton's face darkened with disbelief. It wasn't a joke. John was completely serious.
That damn woman, Marcia!
Hadn't she once vowed that she'd rather die than let John marry her daughter?
Now she was calling him her good son-in-law? Was nothing sacred?
Infuriated, Alton made a mental note to confront Marcia about her betrayal.
John, watching Alton's expression shift, chuckled inwardly. But he didn't voice his thoughts. After exchanging a few more pleasantries, he excused himself and left the Wood residence.
Back at the hotel...
His fourth sister had just woken up. She bounced over and clung to John's arm with childlike glee.
"Little John!" she chirped. "I just had the most amazing dream. Guess who I dreamed about?"
Her eyes sparkled with mischief.
John thought for a moment, then teased, "Did you dream about me?"
"Don't flatter yourself!" Kate huffed, clearly enjoying the moment. "If I tell you, your confidence might take a hit. You're nothing compared to the man in my dream—not even if there were ten thousand of you!"
"Oh?" John raised an eyebrow. "Now I have to know. Who's this miracle man you're talking about?"
With a mock-stern look, Kate reached up and flicked his forehead. "Watch your tone when you talk about the leader of the King of Horizon!"
John froze for a moment.
The King of Horizon?
His expression shifted subtly. "Sister Four... did you dream of the King of Horizon just now?"
"Hmph! Of course!" Kate said proudly. "My lifelong dream is to interview the King of Horizon. But what chance does a woman like me have of meeting someone so legendary?"
She sighed wistfully. But the sadness faded quickly, replaced by a playful smirk. "Now you see why you don't even come close! He's in a league of his own."
"Yes, yes..." John replied with exaggerated humility. "The most handsome man in the universe—how could I ever compare?"
"Exactly!" Kate grinned. "But don't be too discouraged. You'll always be the best little brother in my heart." She stood on tiptoe and patted his shoulder, as if consoling a child.
John's gaze softened.
"Fourth Sister," he said seriously, "with those words, I promise I'll help make your dream come true. You want an interview with the King of Horizon? I'll bring him right to you—even if I have to tie him up."
Kate suddenly gave him a warm, affectionate look. For a moment, John thought his sincerity had touched her.
Then she ruined it.
With a grin, she said, "You look so ridiculous when you're bragging—just like love. Completely absurd."
