The Scheming Ex-Husband's Courtship-Chapter 10 - I Didn’t Bring a Change of Clothes
Chapter 10: Chapter 10 I Didn't Bring a Change of Clothes
"Wait a minute." She hurriedly called out to him.
His tall figure halted at the doorway, his still semi-damp black hair lying flat against his head.
"I didn't bring a change of clothes, could you possibly..." The words 'borrow your clothes' felt overly intimate; she just couldn't get them out, yet, to help him pack his luggage, she couldn't exactly go in just a bath towel.
She only got halfway through her sentence, unsure if he understood her, and even if he did, she wondered if he would be averse to lending his clothes to her, after all...
"Put it on." A sleep shirt still holding the warmth of the man's body was tossed in front of her, instantly filling the surroundings with a masculine scent.
Gu Qili dazedly lifted her head, then immediately closed her eyes again, wishing she could bury herself in the bedding. The man standing against the light wore only boxer briefs, his limbs long and perfectly toned.
She dared only to glance once before looking away, closing her eyes as if those long legs were always shimmering in front of her.
After a lengthy silence, there were no more sounds outside the door. Gu Qili cautiously peeked out, the man had long since left, certainly not standing there for her visual pleasure.
Mu Shuoqian's clothes were like an ancient floor-length robe on her, covering her hands and feet entirely.
She had no choice but to roll up the sleeves several times, then flip the hem of the sleep shirt to her waistline and tie it with a belt in the middle, making it look like a skirt.
The outfit was rather peculiar, but fortunately, it was snugly wrapped.
Mu Shuoqian had an odd preference for not liking colors other than black or white, thus his bedroom décor appeared very cold and detached, just like him. His clothes were also either black or white, without much variety.
Upon entering his room, he wasn't there.

Gu Qili conscientiously placed the suitcase on the bed, took out two suits from the wardrobe, and packed them in specialized coat bags. Considering that besides work, he might also want to casually stroll around, she picked a few casual clothes and pants. Finally, getting to the underwear - such items are a must, and he also has a bit of a cleaning obsession.
All his clothes were from the same brand, a brand without brick-and-mortar stores, dealing only in bespoke services. Designers would come to take his measurements every half a year, and later the clothes would be airmailed from abroad. Therefore, each garment's logo bore the owner's name, and he used the traditional Chinese character 'Qian'.
Gu Qili guessed that he probably wouldn't be comfortable using the hotel amenities, and even though those high-end hotels provided one-time-use branded goods, she packed his personal hygiene items in a plastic waterproof box, and also made space for his razor and phone charger.
While she was busy arranging everything, she suddenly felt someone approaching from behind, getting too close, those legs nearly touching her back.
All the pores on her body seemed to open up, her nervous fingertips uncontrollably twitching.
Something fell from above and landed beside her hand, its slightly sharp edges striking her little finger. After tossing the object, he turned around and left.
Gu Qili picked it up and her face flushed red as if on fire. He was taking this sort of thing on a business trip? Aren't high-end hotels supposed to have everything?
Touching the green little box in her hand, her palm heated up, and she quickly stuffed it into the side pocket of the suitcase.
Even without his explanation, she knew what it was for. Perhaps, this wasn't just a simple business trip, but possibly a secret rendezvous.
Their contractual marriage was already in name only; it was entirely normal for him to have another woman.
Although she understood this reasoning, Gu Qili still felt a knot forming in her heart, tangled and impossible to unravel.
