The Royal Mark-Chapter 414: Yakobo’s Mission
The family’s reunion touched the hearts of everyone who witnessed it. When Chris had finally stopped crying, Marina called everyone’s attention. It was time to party!
"Okay, everyone! Can we all agree to stop with the tears and let’s celebrate!" Marina exclaimed.
"Does it mean we will have a party because Daddy is back?" Rocco asked making Chris laugh.
"Yes, we can. Do you want to?" Elsa asked just in case the children didn’t want to. She doesn’t want to overwhelm them.
"Yes! Can we have a barbecue for the party? I am hungry and Yakobo wants to eat some meat."
"I want strawberry cake!" Rosey said.
"I want chocolate ice cream!" Daisy added.
Elsa chuckled. It seems like she was worrying for nothing since her children were all for it. "Alright, let me ask Roxanne and the driver to buy some ingredients then."
"No, no, no! Let me and Elandir do it. Your helpers could set up the backyard instead. And you enjoy your time with your family. Do you approve?" Marina offered.
Elsa couldn’t refuse it and she was grateful.
Marina gave out some instructions to Elsa’s employees before heading to the supermarket.
Elandir couldn’t help but notice Marina’s happy mood as she stared through the window smiling. "Are you that happy that they are together now?"
"Yes, but that’s not the only reason. Our theory is correct and our plan worked. My babies will grow up happy. So I am happy," Marina replied.
"Why call them your babies when you can make your own?"
Marina’s smile faded as she turned to Elandir. Her mood instantly shifted into a sour one. "So, what are you saying? That I should make babies on my own so I can have one? Maybe you are right! Tomorrow morning I will go to the hospital and order from the sperm bank so I can start it right away!"
Elandir was flabbergasted for she misunderstood what he wanted to say. ’It all came out wrong!’
"Marina, I didn’t mean it that way–"
"Whatever! Just keep driving and don’t talk to me. I was in a good mood earlier and you just ruined it!"
Elandir did not say anything more, he feared he might say the wrong things again. ’I will try to talk to you again. If there’s one thing that I won’t give up in this lifetime, it is you, Marina,’ he thought.
Back at Elsa’s house, Chris and Elsa were in bliss as they watched their kids play in the garden.
"I’m so happy right now. I never thought this would happen. I thought I’d always be watching you all from afar," Chris said.
"Really?" Elsa replied in a teasing tone. "Then how come you were all over me ever since I came to your office? You practically didn’t let me go. If it weren’t for work, you might have followed me around all day," she teased.
"Was I that obvious?" Chris chuckled, realizing what he had done.
"Chris, can you still talk to wolves? I don’t want to remind you of your wolf, but Rocco’s pet reminds me of him and there’s something weird about him, it’s bothering me," Elsa informed him.
"Hmm, so I am not the only one experiencing it. Let me handle it." Chris stood up and went to Rocco who was playing with his sisters and Yakobo.
"Rocco, can I borrow your puppy for a while?"
"Why?" the little boy asked.
"I just want to get to know him a little more."
"But you already know him. He is Yakobo. Don’t you remember?"
Chris’s curiosity increased. He wanted to end the mystery about that puppy once and for all. "Can I talk to him?" he asked Rocco.
"Alright, Daddy."
Chris still couldn’t believe that he would one day hear his children call him like that and the sound of it just fills his heart with so much joy.
Rocco picked up his pup and showed Chris his trick. "You have to pet him on the head like this if you want to talk to him."
"Oh, so that’s why he is not responding to me if I talk to him in a different way."
Rocco just giggled at him and handed his pet wolf.
He carefully took it and brought it inside the house where it was more quiet. He did what Rocco told him to do and started petting the pup’s head. "Are you my wolf?" he asked.
[Isn’t it obvious? I knew it! You are a dense person without me!]
"Wow! You really are Yakobo. How is this possible?"
[The goddess didn’t want me to die that way. I will still die someday, but I was given a little extension in exchange for a mission.]
"A mission?"
[It’s your son, Christopher. He carries our true alpha blood, that last of it. If ever you produce a son again, he won’t be the same. My mission is to protect him until he comes of age.]
"Why do you need to do that here in Novus?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
[The goddess didn’t say. I was so happy to live a little longer that I forgot to ask. But my guess is that there’s an incoming danger. Don’t you worry I will do everything that I can to protect him. You can count on that.]
"What else did the goddess say?"
[Nothing more. Just to protect Rocco until he meets his wolf and becomes the leader of his pack.]
"If that’s what she said. Then it means that there will come a time that he will go back to Arcanis."
[Maybe? Or... could it be that there are other werewolves living here in Novus?]
Yakobo’s words made sense, but it’s only a possibility. But there’s only one way to find out without his werewolf ability anymore. There’s a person that he could ask.
"Do you think my father-in-law would know if there are other werewolves here?" he asked Yakobo.
[You should ask him. Don’t call him that. You are not married in this world!]
"You’re right! You just gave me an idea! You are always helpful, Yakobo! Thanks!" Chris immediately left leaving Yakobo on the sofa.
[I wonder what is he planning this time?]
