The Royal Mark-Chapter 391: A Changed Person

"Alright, time for bed. Say goodnight to your Aunt Marina," Elsa told the kids who obeyed right away.

"Goodnight darlings. Oh! Yakobo has to go potty before going to bed. Can Auntie do it?" Marina asserted and good thing that Rocco was so sleepy that he just nodded and walked away.

She quickly picked up the puppy and brought it into the garden. She went straight to the point after putting it down on the grass. "You! Tell me what are you?"

The puppy just stared at her with its sleepy puppy eyes.

’Dang, he is so cute! But what if he is pretending to be the real Yakobo? I mean is getting separated from Chris and having its own form even possible?’

Marina stared back at the puppy waiting for its reply until she gasped loudly, realizing something.

’Oh my God! What if Christopher is dead and this mutt is really his wolf who materialized?’

The little puppy tilted its head from left to right and vice versa, still staring at her.

’No, that’s not possible. When a werewolf dies, their wolf dies too. Oh no! What if this is the work of Milda or Mordrak?!’

Marina poked the pup with her index finger on its shoulder. It was a gentle push but enough to make the pup lose its balance.

It dropped to the ground and lay on its back, exposing its fat tummy while wagging its tail. It opened its mouth and stuck its tongue out making it look like it was smiling at Marina while asking for a belly rub.

"Oh my goodness! You are too cute to be a witch or demon’s minion," Marina said before her voice became high-pitched and started scratching the puppy’s belly. "Come here you little cutie, you like that, huh? You are a spoiled little munchkin, Auntie will give you lots of belly rubs, toys, and treats! I will give you more but you have to take good care of those three angels ok?"

And as if the puppy understood her, it barked as if it was saying yes. However, the answer that she was waiting for never came. She just let it go and waited for it to do its business on the grass before putting it back inside the house.

"Oh, where should I put you? You have no bed yet. Don’t worry I will return tomorrow with all the things you need. For now, sleep in Rocco’s bed. Don’t you dare pee on it!" Marina said before placing the sleepy pup beside Rocco.

She massaged the back of her neck as she climbed down the stairs and thought, ’I guess that pup will not talk to me. Or perhaps only werewolves like the kids could communicate with him. I should go home, it’s a tiring day.’

Elsa met her in the living room holding a cup of tea. She extended her hands, giving her the tea, "Chamomile tea before you leave."

"Aw, how did you know I need this?" Marina happily accepted the cup and sat on the sofa.

"You really have changed," Elsa uttered casually.

Marina halted mid-way into drinking the tea and started to get nervous. Every time Elsa would notice something different about her and Nadel, she would always become scared of getting exposed.

"W-What do you mean?" Marina asked before sipping the tea.

"I know that changing your face and name after the accident was essential for your safety since you said that bad people are chasing your father. But you also change a lot inside. You used to hate chamomile tea and many things like that. But I think it’s for the better since that tea is good for you," Elsa smiled.

Ambros, Hera, and Chris suggested that she become Nadel in Novus to be able to stay beside Elsa without too much explanation. Ambros came up with the idea that Nadel’s father was involved in some mafia stuff and got into an accident while running away from them.

And therefore the old Nadel died and she took a new identity to protect herself. Only a few people were informed about it so she could really take over Nadel’s life. This way it would be easy for them to explain to Elsa where Marina got her wealth.

"You’re right. Perhaps it’s because what doesn’t kill you, sometimes not only makes you stronger but also changes you. I’ve been through so much, so when I decided to take this new life, I told myself to become a better person.

This time I will put myself first. No more sacrificing for people who do not appreciate or value me. I will no longer listen to what others will say about me. Most importantly, I will no longer wait for someone to take care of me because I will do that myself," Marina voiced her heart out.

"Wow, you’ve really changed for the better... Wait a minute, did someone break your heart while I was gone during those two years?" Elsa teased.

"Who knows? Maybe yes, maybe no..."

Elsa threw the pillow at Marina without any warning, making her jaw drop in surprise.

"You bitch! Come here! Let me take my revenge!" Marina exclaimed but Elsa already ran away from her while laughing.

The two playfully chased each other until Marina’s phone rang.

"Who the hell is calling me at this hour?!" Marina picked up the phone angrily without looking at the screen, "This better be good!"

"Uhm, I’m sorry to call in so late, Ma’am. I just got a notification of a board meeting for Hartlife Hospital tomorrow. I-I need to confirm if you will be able to attend. It’s an urgent meeting about the change of some positions in the administration."

"What time will it be?" Marina asked.

"The meeting will be held at one in the afternoon in the hospital’s board room."

"Fine! I’ll be there."

"Who was that?" Elsa asked.

"My secretary. The hospital is making some changes in its organizational roster and the board has to be there. I should get going... Oh, by the way, don’t buy anything yet for the pup. I’ll shop in the morning before I go to the board meeting. Don’t see me off. I will lock the gate, you must be tired of dealing with the unpacking and three kids. Goodnight, ciao!"

Elsa watched Marina walk out of the house. She looked around their fully furnished but still messy house. Ambros and Marina made sure that she and the kids had everything they needed before they moved in but left all the unpacking to her.

"I guess unpacking and cleaning everything up will take a week... I should start hiring people tomorrow..." Elsa cleaned up the cups that she and Marina used before joining her kids in dreamland.
