The Royal Mark-Chapter 341: Get Tainted
When Elsa and Lulu arrived in the castle they immediately went to Elsa’s room. Lulu couldn’t contain her happiness anymore and hugged Elsa tightly as soon as she closed the door.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Your Majesty! Thank you for helping me accomplish my dream!" Lulu exclaimed.
*Cough, cough*
"Lulu... I can’t breathe!" Elsa protested.
"Oh! Sorry..." Lulu quickly released her and stepped back, utterly embarrassed by what she did.
"You have quite a hug there. You are very strong for a small lady. Have you been working out?" Elsa seriously asked but Lulu found it funny and chuckled.
"I apologize again, I was just too happy that my dream had come true. Never in my imagination that I think I would be able to do that. It’s all because of you, Your Majesty."
"Don’t thank me yet. It is just a small progress, you still have a long way to go," Elsa replied and gestured for Lulu to join her at the small round table.
When they had both seated, Elsa took out a notebook and showed Lulu the content of it. "This is my notes from when I was still training. I tried my best to write everything and I am letting you borrow this for a while.
Write it down so you’ll have a copy of your own and practice it in your free time. Focus on gathering mana and stabilizing it. Once you do that, I will help you find out which element is most suitable for you."
Lulu stared at the notebook for a while flipping through pages without noticing that her eyes were welling up. "You are so kind, Your Majesty. I don’t think I would be able to repay you ever."
Elsa smiled and said, "You can repay me by helping me escape. We will all escape this hell with your family. I will make sure that you will have a place in Zemaria, or Arcanis if you want, so you can live the life that you want and you deserve. So please, Lulu, work hard on your mana. We must escape before my betrothal with the demon king happens."
Lulu wiped her tears before nodding, "I will do my best. This is for both your family and mine. I won’t let you down, My Queen. I am willing to sacrifice my life for you and my family."
Elsa chuckles and shakes her head, "Alright, but let’s not talk about sacrificing one’s life. I order you to not die, understand?"
Lulu smiled before standing and bowing, "I should go now, Your Majesty. I will let you rest and fetch you later once dinner is ready."
After Lulu left her room, Elsa locked all the doors and went to the bath chamber. ’I hope she will do her end of the bargain. But for now, I must train myself too,’ she thought.
Lulu was on cloud nine while walking down the hall on her way to the servant’s quarter and accidentally bumped into her mother who was in a hurry to notice her as well. She dropped the fruits and herbs that she was carrying, causing everything to scatter on the floor.
"My goodness! Why didn’t you avoid me? Didn’t you see I am carrying a lot!" Lulu’s mother exclaimed.
"I-I’m sorry Mother, I was just thinking about Queen Elsa. I just assigned to serve her this morning."
"I know, the King’s steward told me. He also instructed me to send these fruits and herbs to the kitchen so they could make fruit juice for Queen Elsa. King Mordrak wants her to be in good health. If you have nothing to do, could you give these to the head cook?"
Lulu agreed and her mother handed her the basket of fruits and herbs after picking up everything that had fallen on the floor.
She took a small bottle from her pocket and gave it as well to Lulu, "Take this one too. Tell the cook to add a drop of this to Her Majesty’s drink."
Lulu frowned and asked, "May I know what this is for?"
Her mother looked left and right before whispering in Lulu’s ear, "Apparently, Queen Elsa is expecting. This is to help her body be healthy since she might show symptoms soon. This will help her eat well and not get sick in the morning."
"Ah, so this is the same thing that the women in our village take," Lulu said.
"Exactly. But make sure not to mention it to her. She doesn’t know yet. It was the King who found out her condition and he wanted to be the one to tell her, so watch your mouth. I am warning you, Lulu. You have a tendency to become a blabbermouth sometimes, especially when you get excited or emotional."
"Don’t worry, Mother. I am sure that this is a secret that I can keep. Rest assured that my mouth is sealed."
Lulu’s mother smiled, squeezed both her upper arms, and said, "I am proud of you, my daughter. You are the first human to ever serve or even get close to a royalty, like Queen Elsa. I am also happy that she is treating you well. I’ve heard she asked you to accompany her to the town."
"Ah, yes, she did..." Lulu replied tersely, for she didn’t want to give more details. She doesn’t want her family to know what she and the queen were up to, at least not now.
She doesn’t want to give them false hope, in case she fails. But one thing is for sure, she will make sure not to let them down. Her family had suffered for generations in the hands of the demons and it is about time to put an end to it.
She will do everything that she can to learn from Queen Elsa as fast as she can. Deep inside, she also doesn’t want her to end up with King Mordrak. She knows how evil the demon king is, and she would not let a good soul get tainted while on her watch.
