Chapter 272: Reverse Spell

"You and Drake? If there’s one person who truly loves me, it is Milda. My poor daughter must have cried her eyes out while you, your brother, and your father conspired against me! I wouldn’t be here if not because of the three of you!

You are the reason I am here begging for Queen Yvonne’s help. She’s the only one who was willing to help me while all of those ’claiming’ who love me turned their back on me. So don’t tell me I am throwing my life away because I didn’t, you, Drake, and Allister did!"

"Mo–"

*BANG*

"Who dares disturb my sleep?!"

Andrius halted mid-sentence due to the abrupt slam of the door at the far end of the room that captured everyone’s focus. Instantly, their gaze shifted towards the source, where they spotted a cloaked figure, slightly stooped, entering. Though her face remained hidden within the shadows of her hood, her lengthy gray hair spilled out from beneath the cloak, catching their attention.

But Chris knew that voice very well. The voice that he despises the most.

"Yvonne? It’s her! Capture that witch!" Chris quickly commanded.

Baahu and Dasher quickly get into position. Baahu cast a defensive barrier while Dasher released a wind so strong that no attack could reach them easily. However, Dasher immediately pulled back his magic when Irina jumped in front of the witch queen, protecting her.

As a result, Dasher’s gust of wind spell blew off Yvonne’s hood and the damage given to her by Elsa before she fled with Neia was revealed. The men almost gasped at how bad the burn on her face was and from the looks of it, it was not properly healing.

The flames of Elsa that touched her face left a hole in her cheek, exposing the bones underneath her skin. It was still red and fresh while the surrounding area was black like a burnt pig’s skin.

Everyone tried to hide their disgust and maintain their composure even though deep inside they all wanted to vomit. It was much harder for Chris and Stefan who could smell her burnt skin mixed with the rotting scent of her flesh.

"Stop! Can’t you see, she is not in the right condition to fight all of you! Don’t be unfair to her she is defenseless against the five of you!" Irina shouted at the men in front of her while raising her arms as she used her body as a shield to protect the witch queen.

"Mother! What are you doing? Stay away from her right now! She’s very dangerous!" Drake, who just got into the scene screamed in panic after seeing his mother near the evil witch queen.

"You’re wrong! It’s not her who is dangerous! Queen Yvonne has only ever shown me kindness. When my own family abandoned me, she welcomed me as one of her own people. She helped me when I needed it most!" Irina argued defiantly.

"How can you say she’s not dangerous when she nearly wiped us out in Arcanis? She murdered King Alaric, abducted Princess Neia, and caused harm to countless others!" Drake protested, attempting to reason with his mother.

"Do you blame her after what Elsa did to her –"

"Enough!" Chris yelled as his patience ran out. They are not there to argue with Irina but to get his sister back and capture Yvonne so she can reverse the spell she put on Laureen.

"Where is my sister? Hand her back now. Seeing that you are not in a very good condition, don’t fight back anymore if you want to live," Chris warned.

"Your sister? Hahaha! So Alaric took his secret to the grave? She’s not your sister!" Yvonne revealed while laughing frantically.

"No, he didn’t but it doesn’t matter. That doesn’t erase the fact that she was raised as the only Princess of Arcanis, my one and only sister. Where the hell is she?!" Chris shouted.

"She is mine! Alaric made that deal with his blood before I agreed to save her precious daughter from death. Her life belongs to me and she will live as my daughter, the Princess of Saldivar."

Yvonne waved her hand towards the door where she entered and Princess Neia soon emerged wearing a black ball gown and a crown that can only be worn by a princess in Saldivar.

Chris looked at Stefan the moment they saw Neia and he nodded. With a blink of an eye, Stefan snatched Neia who was standing behind Queen Yvonne. She struggled at first but King Stefan quickly snapped her neck, something that doesn’t kill werewolves but puts them to sleep instead.

"The fuck!" Queen Yvonne cursed the moment she realized that the vampire king already had his hands on the werewolf princess.

She knew what was coming next and her life was on the line. She acted fast and took out the dagger in her pocket as she swiftly wrapped her arm around Irina’s neck while pointing the dagger directly just below the angle of her jaw.

"Move just one step and this old woman will die!" Yvonne screamed while looking at Andrius and Drake.

If there’s anyone capable of stopping Christopher’s assault on her, it would be Andrius. He possesses the most diplomatic temperament among them and is the sole individual not driven by violence or a thirst for blood—particularly hers.

"D-Don’t harm our mother! She’s innocent!" Drake pleaded desperately, but Yvonne pressed the dagger closer to Irina, nicking her skin and causing a trickle of blood to run down her neck.

"Look, we are not here to kill you. We are here to take back Princess Neia and ask you to reverse your spell on Laureen. We will leave you be as soon as we achieve what we came for," Andrius briskly explained trying to de-escalate the situation.

"Hahaha! Do you think I would believe you? I have known those two for years and they will surely not leave Saldivar with me unharmed. Besides, there’s no reverse spell for the one I cast on that half-breed and Neia.

They will soon lose their wolf. Neia will be human and by then, it will be much easier for me to turn her into a witch like me, her mother. So if you want to get your mother back alive, better tell that bloodsucker and mutt to return my daughter to me this instant!"

"No! Your madness stops here! I will not let you take another life!" Yejin exclaimed after she was able to join the group.

Yvonne took that opportunity to do something not a single one of them expected her to do.

"NO!!!"

"MOTHER!!!"

Andrius and Drake’s voices roared as they watched the blood of their own mother gush out from her neck as Yvonne pulled out the dagger that she hastily pierced into Irina the moment Yejin arrived.

Hello readers! I just want to share how happy I am today to receive the good news from my doctor. Many of you are aware that I have been getting sick a lot these past few months and ended up in hospitalization. And today, my doctor announced that I don’t have to worry anymore because the lab test is out and I don’t have cancer! I still need to undergo some medication for a month to fix some problems in my system and will then check again if they can take me off meds or add another month.

I am both happy and thankful to all of you for supporting me and my books. This was one of the very few things that made me happy when I was sick and recovering. Thank you so so sooooo much! MWAH!
