Chapter 264: Vanish Into Thin Air

"What?!" Elsa exclaimed in surprise and disbelief. "Why didn’t you tell me sooner? I shouldn’t have agreed for her to stay here near Rocco."

"I plan to tell it to you but then King Tyrion and Queen Ydril arrived. Also, that’s all that the servant said since she went her way after seeing the princess sneaking out. We have no proof if she’s doing something bad or not," Lexi said.

"Alright, but next time if there’s something suspicious about her, tell me right away. The only reason why I allowed her to stay here is because werewolves have better senses than humans, so if she’s talking to someone, it can easily be detected."

"I think, we should ask my brother to assign guards to her and Rocco. I know that you are strong but I also think that you should add more for you. The three of us may not be enough, add at least one more werewolf while Laureen is still recuperating."

"I like your idea. I just didn’t think it was necessary before since I plan to take care of Rocco myself but you are right. There will be times when I need to leave him to attend to some matters concerning the kingdom while Chris is away."

"That’s the plan then. I will accompany you to my brother later after dinner, then," Lexi confirmed.

The two focused on Elsa’s history lesson the whole afternoon and it was a good thing Rocco didn’t make a fuss the whole time and became a good student for Lexi as well.

Before they knew it, Milda and Rylie were already back in the castle together with Aunt Elena. The three women went straight to the library after not finding them in the dining hall.

"You two are hard-working, are you not done yet?"

Elsa and Lexi’s heads turn to the door upon hearing Aunt Elena’s voice. The three soon entered the library without asking first.

"I will never be done with how much I need to study," Elsa sighed, exasperated.

"You are finished with your shopping?" Lexi asked.

"Not yet, but the stores were already closing so we have to go back. It’s dinner already aren’t you going to join us?" Aunt Elena said.

"Wow? It’s that late already? Lexi is determined to make me learn as soon as possible that we forgot the time," Elsa said as she stood up and picked up Rocco from his crib.

She then walked towards Aunt Elena and gave her a quick hug. "Thank you, Auntie! You are my savior! Thanks for saving me from Lexi. Let’s all eat!"

"Hey, you’re making me sound like a villain! You don’t need saving, you are determined to learn fast as well!" Lexi retorted before all of the ladies headed to the dining hall.

Elsa was surprised to see a lot of people in the dining hall since she was not informed about or expecting it. Most of the people there were women, whom she guess are Lunas of the different packs in Arcanis.

’What is going on?’ she asked Lexi mentally.

’I don’t know too, I was with you, remember?’ Lexi said.

Everyone stood up when they saw Elsa enter the dining hall and bowed as she walked toward her seat. Thankfully, Hoven was beside her and quickly whispered, "Who are they and what’s going on?"

However, Aunt Elena took the responsibility of hosting the dinner before Hoven could reply.

"My Dear, I hope you don’t mind me inviting the most influential women and Lunas in Arcanis. Since your coronation has been postponed until your husband is back, I thought of introducing you already to the society since everyone was eager to meet their Queen."

"That’s alright Aunt Elena, but I hope next time inform me first so I can at least dress up for the occasion and prepare something for everyone," Elsa smiled awkwardly.

Deep inside she didn’t like what Chris’ Aunt did, she had plans of her own and she didn’t like big surprises like this, especially without Chris.

"Oh, nonsense, you are wearing just fine. Your presence alone is emanating royalty and class no need to dress up. Besides, you don’t need to prepare anything, that’s my job. All you have to do is to show up," Aunt Elena confidently said.

’When did she get hired?’ she asked Lexi via their link who didn’t reply because of trying hard not to laugh.

Elsa took her seat and placed Rocco on the crib beside her, but Aunt Elena was not done yet. She has more surprises for her.

"Everyone! May I have your attention, please? Before we begin our dinner, let’s hear what our Queen has to say to everyone," Elena said.

’What?! Now I have to do a speech?!’

This time, Lexi was not able to contain her laughter and swiftly excited the hall just to release her chuckle without grabbing the attention of everyone.

Everyone stared at Elsa waiting for her to talk when Rocco suddenly cried startling Elsa, causing everyone to laugh. She quickly took him to calm him down while all eyes were on her.

"Looks like, our little prince wants the attention more than me," Elsa jested, and again everyone laughed at her joke.

Rocco quickly stopped after Elsa hugged him, and was only looking for her warmth. "As you can see, I am not only your Queen but a mother to your future King as well," Elsa started while still carrying her son.

"Some of you might already know the story of my life and some may not. But regardless of where I came from, I promise to do my best to be your Luna, your Queen. I still need to learn a lot about Arcanis and I would need your help and support in managing the kingdom while your King is away.

But one thing is for sure, I will never be a tyrant queen for your wellbeing matters to me. I want everyone to work with each other to make Arcanis prosper and make our lives better. I have a lot of plans for the betterment of Arcanis and I cannot do that without your help.

I know that many of you are mothers like me, and I want our children’s future to be better and brighter. So with that, I want to modernize our way of living. Make everything much easier every day so we can focus more on important things. Can I count on your help?"

"Yeah!"

"Yes, Luna!"

"We surely will, Our Queen!"

The dining hall erupted in approval and praise, which surprised her a lot. She didn’t think that the she-wolves would like her impromptu speech. It was not smooth, had no structure, and was all over the place.

Still, everyone in the hall showed their acceptance of her.

’What’s going on there? Why do I feel that you are about to cry?’ Chris voiced out via their bond.

’It’s tears of happiness, love. I am dining with the Lunas and I think they accept me as their queen.’

’Of course they will! Only a fool will not submit to you. Anyone who will challenge your position surely has a death wish.’

Elsa chuckled at Chris’ reassuring words and that alone boosted her confidence to the highest level.

"That was wonderful, dear. So, let’s eat!" Elena exclaimed and everyone cheered before digging in.

Everything was delicious, Elsa surely ate a lot but her attention never faded away from Milda. She also asked Lexi to watch her closely in case she gets occupied by Aunt Elena or by the Lunas in the hall.

When Milda stood up and went out, Elsa signaled Lexi to follow her and so she did. Hoven stood up as well so she called him to let him know what Lexi suggested earlier.

But Aunt Elena took that opportunity to talk to her as well, missing her opportunity to talk to Hoven.

"Where are you going dear? Don’t tell me you are leaving already?"

"No, I just need to talk to Hoven," Elsa replied.

"You can do that later. The ladies brought gifts for you and for Prince Rocco. I’ll tell them to start giving it since the little prince looks sleepy already and it’s late."

Elena did not wait for her to reply and quickly announced that they could start lining up to give their presents to Elsa.

Elsa did enjoy it though, there were many unusual gifts for Rocco, toys that she hadn’t seen before. While other gifts were dresses for her and tiny outfits for her baby. She was also able to talk to some of the women even for a bit and was able to get to know them somehow.

When the dinner ended, she immediately called for Lexi, ’Where is Milda?’

’I don’t know, I have been looking for her ever since. She just vanished. I was following her then she turned right and then she was gone just like that,’ Lexi said.

’How about her scent? Can’t you track her scent?’

’No, the place has the scent of my brother. He must have been here earlier while working,’ Lexi said.

’Shoot! What are we going to do now? This is really suspicious, she can’t just vanish into thin air like that!’ Elsa exclaimed and tried her best to stay calm to avoid Chris picking up her emotions.
