Chapter 230: Kill Her Fated Mate

As Andrius estimated, their ships arrived in Vrenada at noon and were welcomed by King Stefan. Many female mages had huge smiles on their faces upon meeting Vrenada’s vampire king.

The beam on the women’s faces can also be seen on Elsa, Arla, and Rylie, causing their partner’s faces to turn sour. In the case of Elsa, it was Hoven and the rest of Chris’ elite alphas who expressed their protectiveness in the place of their true alpha.

"I didn’t know Vampires could be this handsome and look normal," Elsa whispered to Arla and Rylie. Because of the vampire’s enhanced hearing King Stefan heard it all causing him to blush, while Hoven and his team frowned.

Elsa saw it and added, "They can blush too? He looks more human than a vampire. He is not pale at all, unlike the ones I saw on TV. For sure women will willingly give their blood to him. "

"I would take that as a compliment, Your Majesty," King Stefan said when she turned to Elsa after Andrius and Elandir greeted him.

"Oh, right. You have super hearing like werewolves. I am not a queen yet but thank you for such a title. It’s an honor to meet you, Your Majesty." Elsa curtsies together with her ladies-in-waiting.

"The honor is mine."

King Stefan extended his hand gesturing for a hand kiss as a courtesy. But when Elsa lifted her hand, Hoven stopped her.

"That won’t be necessary. In Arcanis we don’t do that when greeting someone and I think I should let you know as our Luna," Hoven said to Elsa.

"Oh, okay. Thanks for letting me know," Elsa replied.

"Hmp, you are still the same, Hoven... possessive," King Stefan smirked.

"And you are still the same, Stefan... coquettish," Hoven casually addressed the king of Vrenada.

"I guess you two are very well acquainted or perhaps even friends," Elsa commented.

"Never!"

King Stefan and Hoven uttered at the same time astonishing Elsa and the rest of the humans.

"Wow, you even think the same way. Anyway, allow me to thank you King Stefan for helping us," Elsa stated.

"You don’t have to thank me. Chris is my friend and I’d rather have him as my neighbor than Queen Yvonne or King Mordrak. The food is already served by our best human cook and your chambers have been prepared as well."

"Thanks for your hospitality, but after lunch, we are planning to leave already and head to Arcanis," Elsa revealed.

"Very well, I will order the cook to also pack food for your journey."

After their formal greeting, they proceeded to the dining hall while the rest of their troops would have their lunch in the great hall which is much bigger and would be able to accommodate the large number of humans and werewolves that arrived in Vrenada.

"Forgive me if I might appear like I am prying but may I ask what’s the reason why you want to join this war? I know that you are friends with Christopher but there must be something more since Vrenada doesn’t usually interfere in such matters," Prince Andrius said upon taking a seat at the long dining table.

King Stefan smirked as he intertwined his fingers together and propped his elbows on the table. "I like that you are very perceptive Prince Andrius, unlike many of your ancestors. I think you are my favorite. And to answer your question, I want something from Christopher in return. Or rather, someone."

Before everyone could process what the King of Vrenada said they were startled by a loud slam on the table. Everyone turned their attention to the source of it. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"NO! How dare you announce it to everyone like this? And using the war to get what you need is cunning and deceitful!" Hoven shouted.

Gavin pulled Hoven’s arm to make him sit but he didn’t and stood firm on his spot.

"Wait a moment, what is going on?" Elsa asked King Stefan and added, "Did I hear you right? Did you say you want someone? And I think as Chris’ wife and Luna, I have the right to know what it is or who it is."

"I apologize, Princess Elsa, to make you aware of it this way. But yeah you heard it right. I want someone in return. I want Princess Neia, Chris’ younger sister," King Stefan audaciously announced to everyone.

Hoven slammed the table once more and it was louder this time.

"You are one wicked king! How could you do that to the person who you claim to be your friend?" Hoven scorned.

"You are looking at it in a negative way, Hoven. If you look at it in a positive way, then you’ll be grateful that I am the one that Neia will marry someday. She will be my queen and she and I will rule Vrenada together. Unless you want her to end up with King Mordrak or someone in Arcanis who is not a king. Perhaps you like her? Is she your mate, Hoven?"

King Stefan’s words made Hoven lose his temper and he growled loudly. He unleashed his fangs and claws. Fur started to appear on his skin, he was shifting and soon jumped from his spot aiming for King Stefan.

But before he could lift any of his feet, Elsa used her earth magic to pin Hoven’s feet on the ground as she roared, "Enough! I want to hear an explanation and I don’t want to see fighting. Save your energy and anger, Hoven! Use that to our enemies and not hear."

Elsa then turned to King Stefan, "I apologize, Your Majesty, but I think you owe me an explanation since Neia is now my sister-in-law. Plus, she’s still a minor, so please explain your side."

"Of course, Princess. I have been very fond of Neia ever since I met her, however, like you said, she’s still a minor. But she will turn into an adult next year and she will be able to sense her mate which I am hoping that it’s me. We, vampires, have mates too like werewolves but how we find them is different.

I have no plans to take her now, Chris will kill me. But when she turns into an adult she and I will know if we are mates, and I have a very strong feeling that we are. So I don’t know why Hoven is getting pumped up whenever I mention it. Chris has been aware of it since I met his sister," King Stefan explained.

"What did my husband say then?" Elsa pondered.

"Nothing. He said nothing, he is keeping his opinion neutral. That’s why I making an effort to court not Neia, but her big brother first. Because even if I am not Neia’s fated mate I am very willing to be her chosen mate. And if she wants me to wait until her time is up to find her fated mate, I am willing to wait. Even if she wants me to wait for twenty more years, I’m fine with it. Twenty years is nothing to me.

Besides, I can kill her fated mate easily if it’s not me..."

Elsa’s eyes widened in shock and her jaw dropped at the king’s last statement.

King Stefan laughed and said, "I’m just joking on the last part. You people are so serious, I am trying to make Chris favor me okay? I am not going to force him or Neia, if don’t know me to become their family. But I will be very hurt and might sulk for five hundred years."

And again Elsa was flabbergasted, but she likes the Vampire King and thinks that they could be friends in the long run.

"Alright, I think this issue is between you and Chris, so I will not meddle," she told King Stefan and then addressed Hoven next.

"And as for you Hoven, drop it. Let’s focus on rescuing Chris and your sister first then you can be angry after that and if you want to start a fight with King Stefan, I won’t stop you. I’ll let Chris handle that. But for now, can we just all eat peacefully? The food in front of us looks very tasty and I am really hungry!"

Hoven nodded, he finally sat down again and started eating. The conversation returned to normal after that and everyone enjoyed the special dishes that the king served to them.

[Elsa... Princess...]

"Ahh!!!" Elsa suddenly touched her head with both hands as she screamed just when the dessert was being served.

"Elsa, what’s wrong?" Drake worriedly questioned.

Rylie quickly walked to her seat and asked, "Your Highness, are you in pain?"

"My head hurts, I think, I heard Chris’s wolf Yakobo in my head. Something is wrong! I think Chris is in trouble..."

"What do you mean, Luna? You can talk to the wolf of Prince’s Christopher?" Gavin asked.

"No, never, at least when I am awake. He only appeared in my dream once and I am not even sure if it’s really his wolf. But I heard the same voice right now. We have to go, we have to save Chris!"
