The Royal Mark-Chapter 204: Jealousy
Days passed by so quickly, especially for the new mother, Elsa. The night became her day and day became her night. But she’s not complaining, she needs to part with Rocco soon and go to Zemaria before going to Arcanis to save Chris.
She tries to relish every second that he is with him because as much as she hates to admit it, there’s no guarantee when will she be able to return to her son once her journey starts.
Hera took a leave from teaching the young healers as well to help Elsa with Rocco since the new mom only took a week of rest from training and went back at it again.
Elandir volunteered to be the babysitter while they were training. He was very fond of the little boy not only because he was his best friend’s son and his Godson but also to rub it on Chris’ face someday to annoy him...
Although he was not alone, he got some help in babysitting the cute baby while Momma Elsa was outside training... Marina.
"I must admit, you are really good with babies. I thought your singing was only to lure people into jumping into the water, but I was wrong," Elandir remarked while watching Marina cradle Rocco in her arms after lulling him to sleep.
"Right, and we can also choose the if who will be affected with our intention. And as for little Rocco, all I want him to feel is happiness and have sweet dreams when he sleeps. Hopefully, he will dream of me even when he leaves Qiryn."
"I am sure he will because last time I checked, he is still a member of the male species," Elandir replied sarcastically.
His comment made Marina chuckle, "Are you telling me you are jealous of a little boy? Tsk tsk, so possessive." She then gently placed Rocco in his crib while sleeping so soundly.
"I am not! What does a little boy have that I don’t have?" Elandir annoying asked.
Marina chuckled again seeing the irritation in Elandir’s face and voice. "Well, to start with, his hair is my favorite color, red. Plus, he is cute, just look at him, I am more than sure that he will grow up more handsome than you and even more than his father. Women will flock in front of him and everyone will want to be his queen someday."
"So Chris is more handsome than me huh?" Elandir scowled as he crossed his arms while glaring at Marina.
Marina blinked at him, completely at a loss about what just happened. They were still happy a while ago while playing with little Rocco.
"When did I say that Prince Christopher is more handsome than you?" Marina asked, utterly confused.
"Just now, you mentioned me, then Chris, then darling Rocco. So it means you think Chris is above me. I don’t mind my lovely Rocco, but not Chris!" Elandir exclaimed.
Marina’s face turns sour, she doesn’t like the tone of his voice when what he is saying is not true at all.
"Elandir, get hold of yourself. You are imagining things, I did not say such things or even think about it!" Marina replied back.
"You already had a slip of a tongue, there’s no use in denying it!" Elandir yelled back.
"Oh God... Listen, it is you whom I like and not Prince Christopher," Marina tried to lower down her voice, hoping that Elandir would calm down.
"It still doesn’t erase the fact that in your eyes, Chris is more handsome than me!" Elandir’s voice didn’t even mellow down, instead, it increased a notch.
Marina sighed and Rocco started crying. "See what you’ve done? You woke up baby Rocco because of your jealousy of Prince Christopher," Marina said as she picked up the little darling.
"What about my husband? I heard his name," Elsa asked when she entered the room after hearing Rocco cry.
"I think he is hungry, it’s his feeding time," Elsa added before taking her baby from Marina.
"Oh, I was just saying that Rocco will be more handsome than his father when he grows up," Marina answered.
"I will go. I think I am hungry too..." Elandir left without looking at Marina and closed the door.
"Don’t mind him, he will get over it. It just means that he likes you a lot," Elsa uttered causing Marina to blush.
"You heard?"
"Yes, all of it. I didn’t mean to. I was outside listening while you were singing until Elandir made a lovely compliment that turned into jealousy, haha!" Elsa laughed and so did Marina.
"I know that he likes me, but he will never marry me. An elf must marry an elf that’s what they believe and so far, no one in history has disobeyed that."
"I am curious though, can a mermaid become human? I mean, like permanently?" Elsa asked.
"We can. It was said that our goddess can grant our wish to become human permanently but we will have to give up our powers and also our lifespan. Also, it was said that a high-ranking angel could also turn us into a human," Marina explained.
"Wow, that’s both seems impossible. Where would you find a goddess or an angel? Anyway, if Elandir really loves you then he will find a way, and who knows? He might be the first elf to break their tradition. And knowing him, I would say he can definitely do that. I have not known a single rule in Qiryn that he had not broken yet!"
The two laughed out loud not knowing that Elandir could hear them from downstairs.
"I will leave, Your Highness, so you can feed Rocco."
Elsa nodded and started breastfeeding her baby. "I wonder what your daddy is doing now. I can’t wait to see his reaction when he sees you."
’Chris, Rocco is getting bigger and bigger every day. I hope you will not miss that many of his milestones. Our son needs you, so if you can hear me, please get out of there as soon as possible,’ Elsa said in their mate bond even though she knew that he blocked her.
A single tear dropped from her eyes which she immediately wiped upon hearing incoming footsteps from the hallway.
It was Hera’s turn to train Elsa for her last element, air magic. She makes sure that their training does not make her daughter exert too much effort and energy since she just gave birth three weeks ago. Even though Elsa would always tell her to make her train harder, she would still limit her training time.
*Knock, knock*
"Dear, are you in there?" Hera called from the hallway.
"Yes, come in, mom. I’m just feeding Rocco," Elsa answered.
Hera pursed her lips upon entering. "Are you crying again, sweetheart?" she asked as she walked towards her.
"I can’t help it. I was not this emotional when I was pregnant, but after giving birth, I always cried whenever I remembered Chris. I know this is just my hormones but I just miss him so much and also worry about him. I swear I would kill that witch queen when I see her, regardless if Chris is ok or not, I would still kill that bitch!" Elsa exclaimed.
"Hee hee hee!"
To their surprise, Rocco laughs for the first time, and not just the simple smile that he always wears on his face.
"Hmm... Looks like your son has more of his father’s blood than yours and likes the word killing. Just like any other werewolf, as if it meant nothing," Hera said causing Elsa to chuckle.
"I think he only likes it if it’s the bad people that we are killing... Right baby? Mwah!" Elsa uttered.
The sight of them made Hera’s heart full. It’s a scene that she never thought she would still see after waking up in Qiryn and learning that her life is now tied to the Tree of Life.
"Once you are done feeding my grandson, come to the training ground near the school for the healers. We will train there today," Hera informed.
"Wow, change of venue. Are you going to give me hard lessons today?" Elsa excitedly asked.
"We will see. I can see that you have quite recovered from giving birth. I think staying near the Tree of Life and Moon Wells helped you with that, so I might try to give you something harder than what you have been doing for the past two weeks."
"Come on, Mom! All you made me do for the past two weeks was to meditate and balance myself with one foot on a log. I don’t see how will it help me with my air magic," Elsa complained.
"Be patient, I think I need to remind you what each element symbolizes so that you will not ask such questions again! That’s right! You will have a test about the four elements before we start, just like how we did it when you were young. See you later, I need to prepare the questionnaire," Hera stated before walking out of the door.
Elsa quickly retorted, "Mom! You’re not seriously going to give me an exam! Mom!"
But Hera already reached the stairs and was not able to hear her anymore.

Allow me to apologize for only uploading 1 Chapter daily. I have been sick since Dec. 23, 2023 and until now I still have a cough and am on my 2nd batch of antibiotics. Hopefully, it will not progress to asthma since the cough triggered my rhinitis. But rest assured that I will be uploading daily this month and February. As for March, it is my birthday month so I might not upload regularly. I am saying this in advance for the benefit of my privilege readers, so that you will not waste your coins that time but I will still have privilege Chapters if I was not able to finish Elsa and Chris’ story by then.
Thanks everyone for staying until this point. You are all my motivation!
