Flame Bear - Part - 2

The flame bear launched itself toward Kadran, drawn by the searing aura of provocation radiating from his Taunt skill. With a thunderous roar, it charged like a living inferno.

When the beast slammed into Kadran, the impact echoed like a thunderclap through the forest. The force sent Kadran skidding several feet backward, boots digging furrows into the scorched ground. His gold-plated shield cracked at the center, fissures spider-webbing through the once-impenetrable surface.

But he held his ground.

He didn’t let the moment go to waste.

With a guttural shout, Kadran barked, "Everyone—launch your attacks! Now!"

A volley of arrows sliced through the air. The sky turned black with them. Some struck true, sinking into smoldering flesh. Others missed or were reduced to molten splinters, incinerated by the beast’s burning aura. Rookie archers trembled, their shots flying wild or bouncing off the flame bear’s molten hide.

The beast roared—

"GRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"

An Intimidating Roar. The sheer force of it rippled through the battlefield like a sonic quake. Soldiers stumbled. Slaves screamed and dropped to their knees, paralyzed in place.

Kadran gritted his teeth. "Shit—he’s using his skills now."

He raised his voice, commanding through the chaos. "Stand and fight! Keep attacking!" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

His voice cut through the fear, snapping many out of their daze. Swords were raised again. Arrows were nocked. The circle closed tighter around the beast.

Kadran drew his sword.

A gleaming silver blade, battle-worn, soaked in history—and blood. No one but the blade itself knew how many innocent lives it had ended. It gleamed now like it hungered for more.

Around him, his core team—Kaelrick, Myric, Jarik, Rovan, Brelk, Voss—readied their weapons. Spears, axes, blades—all drawn with grim resolve.

The soldiers formed a ring, surrounding the monster. Archers at the perimeter readied their second volley. The beast turned slowly, realizing it was now the hunted.

Then—it struck.

From its blazing maw, the flame bear unleashed a searing cone of fire, aimed directly at a formation of seven soldiers—four charging in from the right, three advancing from the left.

They didn’t stand a chance.

In the blink of an eye, the inferno engulfed them. There was no time to scream, no moment to react. Just fire—pure, consuming, merciless.

Their bodies were swallowed whole by the torrent of flame. The roar of the blast drowned out every other sound. When the fire faded, all that remained were blackened husks strewn across scorched earth. Their armor, once polished and proud, now glowed a dull, molten red, warped and fused to what was left of their forms. The stench of burned flesh hung heavy in the air, sickly sweet and unforgettable.

Not one of them was recognizable. No names. No faces. Only shadows branded into the soil.

Kadran saw it happen—had to watch it happen—as he charged in, sword raised high. He barely had time to react.

"Shields up!" he shouted, but the command came too late.

The firestorm swept toward him, a wall of white-hot destruction. He threw up his shield and dropped to one knee, bracing for impact.

The flames struck like a tidal wave.

His shield flared with heat, metal buckling under the assault. The sigil at its center blistered and cracked. The air turned to fire in his lungs. His vision went white, ears ringing, skin blistering beneath his armor.

It lasted only seconds.

It felt like a lifetime.

When the onslaught finally ended, Kadran lowered what remained of his shield—now blackened and warped, nearly molten to the touch. Around him, the battlefield had transformed into a scorched wasteland. The spot where the seven soldiers had once stood was marked only by ruin.

Silence hung in the aftermath.

Kadran’s knuckles were white on his sword hilt. His breath came in ragged gasps. Rage simmered behind his eyes.

They were gone. All seven.

Erased by a single breath.

"Damn you..." he growled, staring into the blazing eyes of the beast.

The flame bear loomed ahead, smoke curling from its jaws.

Then he saw

Jarik, already mid-leap, flipped above its shoulders, his twin daggers glowing with the pale light of Blade Coating, an assassin’s skill that honed each edge with magical lethality. In the air, he spun, slashing four times—Wind Slash Combo—the air rippling with every arc.

The blades struck the beast’s back in rapid succession. Sparks flew. Molten blood hissed as it sprayed from shallow gashes, but the Flame Bear barely faltered. The attack had drawn pain—but not enough.

The beast snarled and swung both massive paws in opposite directions, a furious cross-slash aimed at the soldiers flanking it.

Myric saw the strike coming and threw himself back, boots skidding in the dust. Just barely out of reach.

Kaelrick, still atop the creature’s spine, buried his axe deeper with a grunt. The runes etched into its head glowed ice-blue, a chilling contrast to the inferno beneath him. The bear bucked hard. Kaelrick launched himself off the beast’s back, flipping through the air before landing beside Kadran with a crunch of armor.

Then the Flame Bear roared again.

This time, it wasn’t just a skill—it was a curse made sound. A dreadful, soul-shaking sound that cracked through bone and spirit alike.

Several of the rookies dropped where they stood.

One vomited violently.

Two others collapsed

The Flame Bear was a goddamned force of nature.

It stood at the center of the battlefield like a pyre brought to life—wreathed in fire, every breath it exhaled a gust of heat that wilted trees and set grass ablaze. Molten eyes scanned the forest’s edge, where the remnants of Kadran’s company had regrouped, ash-faced and blood-slicked, breathing hard and heavy behind battered shields.
