Chapter 41: The golden eyed wrath

Kira’s POV

I wasn’t sure what was going on anymore.

Was he training me?

Or Was he trying to Kill me?

There was something wrong about this fight.

"What are you doing?" I asked, clenching my fist.

"What does it look like I am doing?"

I was pissed off by the fact that he replied to me with a question. All I wanted to do was to blast him with a telekinetic energy.

I swallowed my pride to answer.

"It looks like you are training me for something."

"Uh, uh, our moon keeper is a smart one."

The golden-eyed was training me. I had disappeared from the battlefield for a while away from everyone, but I was back; we were back. I looked over at Ryker.

I saw something shocking, Asher. There was something off about him; he had a broken hand, but he kept on fighting like it was nothing. It was when I saw a mysterious dark energy emanate from his body that was when I knew that he had gotten hooked on something He shouldn’t.

Something that was supposed to be Forbidden.

A werewolf entangled with dark magic. I never thought that this could be possible; well, a few months ago, I never would have thought that I, an omega wolf, would have something to do with magic or even being the moonkeeper.

I have always known that Asher had an undeniable thirst for power, but I would never have imagined that he could get himself entangled with something as evil as dark magic.

Yes, I had visions of us winning the war, but it was at the detriment of people’s lives; we lost almost everyone on the battlefield, including Ryker.

But I didn’t tell them that part of the dream; I couldn’t bring myself to tell that side of the vision.

The last vision I heard was the most scary.

I didn’t bother to tell anyone about it.

In the vision, we were conquered by Asher’s forces, and I saw a dark force hovering around Asher. The battleground was filled with Ryker’s men’s blood. But I was the only one standing.

Ryker was finding it hard.

I didn’t know that Asher had entangled himself with something more dangerous. I probably would have taken him on instead.

"What’s wrong moonkeeper? Lost in thoughts? Realised you can never win against us."

I was pissed off at his words, but he was right; if we continued like this, then there was no way we would survive this battle. We would all be dead, except me, the way I saw it in the last vision.

But was I about to let this happen?

Was I really going to let the people who helped me and accepted me as one of their own fight alongside me, even though some still held onto their resentments? Despite that, the majority welcomed me. Would I allow them to join this battle?

Hell no!

Being the moonkeeper, I have to be able to save them all.

With anger and a low growling sound, I shot a round of telekinetic energy at the golden-eyed, but he dodged it effortlessly.

I gritted my teeth.

This was going to take more time than I expected it to.

"This is why we need you alive; we need your power; someone as strong as you need to be with us and not with these weaklings."

"Don’t you dare call my friends weakling?", I said, my voice laced with anger.

I shot him another burst of telekinetic energy; this time, it touched him, but it had little effect on him; it only pushed him backwards, making him stagger for a while with small cuts, which closed back almost immediately.

I sighed in frustration.

I had to deal with him on time. I needed to go help Ryker with Asher; if the battle continued, Asher would end up killing Ryker, and if that happened, I would never forgive myself.

"Come join us, moon keeper; you will experience great power; who knows, you and Mira could be friends; she trained you, right? You just might be lucky to get her as your trainer once more"

My expression changed drastically, I hated the name. Mira was someone I wanted to kill so badly.

I wanted to pay her back for messing with my head, trying to confuse me about who Ryker was.

Without hesitation, I lunged forward, claws out. I slashed at his neck, but he dodged, appearing at my back and clawing me from behind.

I groaned in pain, but I didn’t stop; I turned around, hitting him with a wave of telekinetic energy.

The wave sent him backwards, and he staggered.

I growled, adding more power to the next wave of telekinetic energy I sent to.

He staggered backwards, but I didn’t stop there, I couldn’t afford to allow him to get back his footing, so I kept on attacking him before he could even think of anything.

For the last one, I made sure to add more power.

It sent him flying across the battle field hitting his back on a rock.

Blood spilled out of his mouth.

That was it.

All I needed to do was to attack him very fast enough so he can’t recover. Make sure he doesn’t have space to attack me, that was the only way I could win this.

I tried something new; I imagined controlling his body in my head; he was unconscious for a while.

I started by raising his hands and legs, and then I controlled him to come to me; my claws were out already, ready to claw through his chest and into his heart.

As he got closer, he suddenly opened his eyes.

Lo and behold he wasn’t there anymore.

Where did he go?

I thought I had him.

I thought I took control of his body.

Then, the next thing I felt was a slash at my back, followed by an evil grin.

"If you think it would be that easy to end me, then you must be kidding." The golden-eyed wolf said, his voice laced with deep-seated anger.

It felt like I had just awakened a new beast.

"It’s time for you to feel the wrath and the true power of a golden-eyed wolf." He said, his voice laced with a low growl.

Does that mean he had been playing with me all along?

If he was playing with me all this while, then what would his true power and strength look like?

He growled loudly.

His growl seemed like a signal to the other two golden-eyed, fighting with Marcus, Emilia and three others, who also replied with a growl.

They were agreeing to take the battle to another level.

I guess it was a call for them to hasten up and end our lives.

My legs began to tremble.

Was this fear I was feeling?

The growl sent shivers down my spine, it dawned on me that I was really scared of this abomination.

He lunged at me, his fist clenched, full speed, full force; I managed to drift away from his point of attack, and his blow landed on the ground, causing the brick at that particular point to shatter into many pieces.

I was glad I was able to dodge it, if I hadn’t been able to dodge it, I would have been killed with just that single punch.

He came at me again; this time, I covered myself with a thick telekinetic energy barrier. When his fist landed on it, I could feel the weight of his punch.

He landed another on the barrier, and I could feel the barrier weaken, immediately I improvised.

I shot more energy on the barrier, and as I noticed his fist come closer, I immediately sent it forward, clashing with his fist, and the impact sent a blast of shockwave.

The shockwave burst forth, launching debris everywhere as I was hurled back, sliding across the battlefield. I gasped for air as I struggled to get back on my feet, my arms buzzing from the immense power of the collision.

The wolf with golden eyes remained at the heart of the turmoil, utterly unbothered, his intense stare fixed on me like a hunter that had at last located his target.

A gradual, malevolent smile crept over his features. "You sensed that, right?" "That was merely the start."

Before I had the chance to respond, he disappeared.

I hardly had a moment to blink before an overwhelming force drove into my stomach, hoisting me into the air. Agony surged through my ribs as I was flung into the air, crashing into a broken pillar. The rock shattered on contact, and I spat out blood, my sight fading for a moment.

"Kira!" Ryker’s voice resonated from a location on the battlefield, yet I was unable to concentrate on him at this moment.

The golden-eyed wolf was on the move once more, quicker than earlier. His claws cut through the air, targeting straight at my throat. I lifted my hands, conjuring a shield just in time, but his power was immense—fractures spread across my barrier like a spiderweb.

And then—click.

The obstacle broke apart.

His taloned hand grasped my neck, raising me from the ground with ease. My body trembled as I fought for breath. His golden eyes pierced my gaze, a shadow of amusement dancing within them.

"Let’s find out if the Moonkeeper can endure without oxygen."

The environment surrounding me started to dissolve into darkness.
