The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 95 - 93: No Significant Background, Named Qin Fan!
Ye Congjun was stunned!
Ye Jizu was dumbfounded!
The young man following Ye Xuan was gobsmacked!
What in the world was happening?
"Ye Xuan, show some respect!" In a moment of urgency, Ye Congjun sternly rebuked her.
Qin Fan? Was Master Qin’s name something she, Ye Xuan, could just casually call out? Even now, he still couldn’t get his head around it, immensely annoyed by Ye Xuan’s insolence.
"Hey, no worries, Mr. Ye. Please sit down! I’ll handle this!" Qin Fan’s gaze turned profound for a moment, and he playfully licked his lips.
He stood up from his chair and walked toward Ye Xuan. In a voice only she could hear, he said, "Wow, wearing leopard print today? Quite wild! What’s this about? Using me as a shield? Aren’t you scared?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Ye Xuan was already too preoccupied to care about the leopard print, her "wild" appearance, or Qin Fan’s flirtatious teasing. She trembled, whispering hurriedly, "Help me. I really can’t stand his relentless pestering anymore! Help me!"
Hearing Ye Xuan’s predictable plea, Qin Fan grinned. He suddenly reached out and gave her bottom a suggestive smack!
SMACK!
The crisp sound echoed throughout the Ye family’s hall.
Ye Congjun was shocked once more. This time, however, it wasn’t panicked alarm that filled him, but the thrill of ecstatic delight.
What was he seeing?
He saw Qin Fan, after smacking Ye Xuan’s rear, pull her in by her slender waist and chuckle lightly. "Wasn’t I just trying to surprise you? I was just telling the Old Man about you—where did you run off to!"
Having her shapely rear smacked by Qin Fan, Ye Xuan’s face instantly flushed a deep crimson. But forced by the current situation, she had no choice but to go along with it.
Before Ye Xuan could reply, Qin Fan looked at the young man standing at the entrance, his face a livid mask of fury. "Oh, who’s this? What’s wrong with his face? Is he poisoned?"
Hearing that there was someone else outside, Ye Congjun and Ye Jizu snapped out of their stupor and walked over.
"Xiyuan, it’s you? When did you get to Jiangzhou?" Upon seeing the visitor, Ye Congjun was taken aback for a moment before exclaiming in surprise.
Qiao Xiyuan was one of Ye Xuan’s more well-off suitors. Although the Qiao family was in no way comparable to the Ye family, Old Man Qiao and Ye Congjun had known each other for a couple of decades. Back when Old Man Qiao was still serving in the Jiangzhou Military Region, Qiao Xiyuan and Ye Xuan had seen a fair bit of each other. Later, as Qiao Xiyuan’s father was transferred to the Demon City Garrison, the Qiao family put down roots there, and contact between them naturally dwindled.
Yet, even when separated by over a thousand kilometers, Qiao Xiyuan had never given up on Ye Xuan. Relying on his grandfather’s friendship with Old Man Ye, he was relentless in his pursuit. He had chased her from the banks of the Zhujiang River to a beauty salon in Zhujiang New City, and from the salon all the way back to her home. For over three hours, Young Master Qiao’s affection had been more steadfast than gold!
But no matter how steadfast his feelings were, he couldn’t hold back after seeing Qin Fan smack her bottom and wrap an arm around her waist. Fortunately, this was the Ye residence, with Old Man Ye and Fourth Uncle Ye present. Even if he were a thousand times braver, Qiao Xiyuan wouldn’t dare to act recklessly.
"Grandpa Ye, I took the morning flight. As soon as I landed, I went to find Xiao Xuan." Qiao Xiyuan tried his best to remain calm, but the frantic expression on his face betrayed him. Pointing at Qin Fan, he panted, "Who is he?"
"Do you even need to ask who I am?" Qin Fan said flippantly, cutting in before the Ye father and son could speak.
As Qin Fan finished, Ye Xuan pulled away slightly from his embrace. She took a few steps forward and looked directly into Qiao Xiyuan’s somewhat ferocious gaze. "Xiyuan, go back," she said. "We can be friends, but we can’t go any further. I know you’ve done a lot for me, but if there’s no spark, there’s no spark. Love is something you can’t force."
Listening to Ye Xuan, Ye Congjun slowly shook his head. He glanced at the stunned Ye Jizu and said, "Let the young people handle their own affairs. Let’s head back inside."
"Ah, yes, Father!" Ye Jizu snapped back to his senses and quickly agreed.
If Qin Fan weren’t one of the main characters in this melodrama, Jizu would have at least tried to enjoy the show. But with Qin Fan involved, what could he possibly say? With a nod, he followed Ye Congjun back into the house.
"Grandpa Ye! Fourth Uncle Ye!" Qiao Xiyuan subconsciously called out as he watched them leave.
The only response he received was a bitter smile from Ye Congjun. "Xiyuan, this is between you and Ye Xuan. We of the older generation won’t intervene. I once promised the younger generation of the Ye family that I wouldn’t interfere in their relationships or marriages, so you’ll have to figure it out yourselves."
In truth, Ye Congjun was only saying this much because of his family’s long acquaintance with the Qiaos. Could Qiao Xiyuan even compare to Qin Fan? Not at all. Not to mention Qin Fan’s status was so high that even the Ye family had to respectfully address him as Master Qin. The Qiao family, for their part, were truly beneath the Ye family’s notice. It was only because Ye Congjun had promised Ye Xuan she could choose her own partner freely. Otherwise, would Qiao Xiyuan have dared to be so shamelessly persistent? If the Ye family had been pursuing a political marriage, their immense influence would have crushed Qiao Xiyuan long ago. How could there be so much trouble now?
But no matter how much freedom he gave Ye Xuan in her love life, when faced with a prospect like Qin Fan, Old Man Ye couldn’t help but salivate. If Qin Fan could become the Ye family’s son-in-law, if Ye Xuan could become Qin Fan’s woman, what an incredible honor and boon that would be for the Ye family!
So, the fact that Old Man Ye and Ye Jizu still treated Qiao Xiyuan with such an attitude was a testament to their sense of honor.
But Qiao Xiyuan knew none of this.
With Ye Congjun and Ye Jizu’s departure, only Qiao Xiyuan, Qin Fan, and Ye Xuan remained at the hall’s entrance, their gazes locked in a tense standoff.
"Xiao Xuan, what’s his status?" Crushed by a heavy sense of defeat, Qiao Xiyuan asked, his face livid.
"Does it matter? Do you think I, Ye Xuan, only care about status? Heh!" Ye Xuan retorted scornfully.
"It matters! I want to know who I’ve lost to!" Facing Ye Xuan’s scornful gaze, Qiao Xiyuan’s facial muscles trembled uncontrollably.
"I’ll tell you. No big background. Just a senior at Qi Middle School named Qin Fan. You can easily find that out," Qin Fan said casually with a faint smirk.
What the heck? A high school student? That would make him a teenager at most! And Ye Xuan is twenty-two this year! Is this some kind of older woman-younger man romance?
If it hadn’t been for Qin Fan’s earlier actions—slapping her bottom and embracing her—Qiao Xiyuan would have definitely assumed this was just a charade to disgust and reject him.
"Haha, to think that I, the tip of the spear for the Southwest Falcon Special Forces, lost to a teenager! Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous! Xiao Xuan, can you tell me what’s so special about him that makes you willing to overlook the age gap?" Unwilling to accept defeat, Qiao Xiyuan gritted his teeth.
