The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 54 - 53: You’re Looking for Death!
Watching Zhou Yihang’s complex, hypocritical expression, Qin Fan sneered. He shook his head in disdain and asked an unrelated question, "You want this grass?"
"Ahem, well, I noticed this grass looks quite unusual. I was thinking about transplanting some to my garden!" Zhou Yihang said with an unnatural, dry laugh.
This hypocrite could never be sincere, torn between his guilt toward Qin Chu and his own greedy, ungrateful actions. For Qin Fan, his dislike wasn’t about the canceled wedding. Even if Zhou Xueman were to throw herself at him, the Qin Fan of this life wouldn’t give her the time of day. He despised Zhou Yihang for being an ingrate—for his shameless and ungrateful nature. Ever since Qin Fan’s family was driven from their home, Zhou Yihang’s attitude toward Qin Chu had grown cold. He barely even contacted him anymore. He had completely forgotten how he got his start and how Qin Chu had treated him in college.
On one hand, he wanted to sever all ties with Qin Chu’s family, but on the other, he didn’t want to be labeled an ingrate. How could Qin Fan not loathe such a textbook hypocrite?
Combined with what Zhou Xueman had done to him, it was frankly an act of immense mercy that Qin Fan, having returned with the might of the Shura Venerable, hadn’t already slaughtered the father-daughter duo. This was also why he had tacitly consented when Ye Jizu previously suggested making an example of Zhou Yihang.
"And? Why not transplant it now?" Qin Fan taunted. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Ahem, transplanting the grass is secondary. I mainly came to appreciate the geomantic layout of Horse Hoof Ridge. As you know, officials and businessmen are usually quite interested in these things! Hehe—I’ll transplant some to take back later!" As he spoke, Zhou Yihang lost his earlier awkwardness, explaining with a straight face and a dry laugh.
Transplanting is secondary? Do it later? A smirk touched Qin Fan’s lips. You think you can actually touch this Gathering Spirit Grass?
Qin Fan didn’t know what Zhou Yihang wanted the Gathering Spirit Grass for, but he couldn’t be bothered to find out. Before he could say anything, Zhou Yihang pressed on, "Xiao Fan, that, uh... have you thought it through?"
"Thought what through?" Qin Fan asked, feigning ignorance as the corner of his mouth twitched.
"The matter with Xueman. How about we discuss it? There’s no need for our relationship to be so strained. Name your conditions. As long as you state them, Uncle Zhou will do his best to meet them!" A complex look flickered in Zhou Yihang’s eyes. He had never truly gotten over the unpleasant incident at Qin Fan’s home.
"I already told you. It’s simple: let your daughter sleep with me for one night," Qin Fan stated flatly.
"Qin Fan, you—"
Before Zhou Yihang could finish, Yi Tianji, who was standing beside him, exploded with rage. "Insolence! Who is this ill-mannered brat? Have you no upbringing? Watch your mouth!"
No manners? The moment Yi Tianji’s words fell, Qin Fan swung his arm and slapped him hard across the face.
SLAP!
The crisp sound echoed across the grassy field.
His face darkening, Qin Fan growled, "Who gave you permission to speak?"
"You dare hit me? Do you know who I am? I’m telling you, you will pay a terrible price for your ignorance. I don’t care who you are!" Yi Tianji shouted furiously, cradling his stinging cheek in disbelief.
Feng Shui Masters had always held a high status in Huaxia. High-ranking officials and influential individuals alike consciously avoided antagonizing them because you never knew what kind of undetectable methods they might use in secret. And yet, Qin Fan had just slapped him? This was utterly unbearable.
Meanwhile, Zhou Yihang, who was standing to the side, felt a secret thrill at this turn of events. He was delighted that Qin Fan had offended Master Yi and that Master Yi would now surely retaliate. Although he harbored his own resentment toward Qin Fan, he had to suppress it for his reputation’s sake. That didn’t mean, however, that he wasn’t happy to see someone else put Qin Fan in his place.
"Noisy!" Qin Fan sneered and backhanded him again. This slap was even harder than the last. Caught completely off guard, not expecting the young upstart to dare strike again, Yi Tianji stumbled back several steps. A trickle of blood oozed from the corner of his mouth.
"You little bastard! I, Yi Tianji, swear an oath right here! If you don’t kneel before me in repentance within three days, I’ll write my name, Yi Tianji, backward!" Yi Tianji spat. The sight of his own blood ignited a boundless rage within him.
"Did I give you permission to speak?" Qin Fan’s voice was cold and expressionless as he lunged forward.
His palm rose high.
In a flash, before Yi Tianji could even think to defend himself, another slap struck him.
THWACK!
The heavy impact sent Yi Tianji flying, and he collapsed onto the grass. This time, it wasn’t just a trickle of blood; several of his teeth had been loosened.
"Zhou Yihang, are you enjoying the show? If you want to laugh, go ahead. It must be painful to hold it in," Qin Fan said, turning away from Yi Tianji to face Zhou Yihang with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
Judging by Zhou Yihang’s expression and the gleam of malicious delight in his eyes, Qin Fan would have been wasting over five hundred years of life experience if he couldn’t read the man’s thoughts.
"Qin Fan, do you have any idea who he is? That’s Yi Tianji, Master Yi! In Jiangzhou, even officials from the municipal committee and city government have to treat Master Yi with respect! How dare you humiliate him like this? A Fortune Teller’s honor is sacred! If Master Yi doesn’t deal with you after this, how can he possibly maintain his standing in the Feng Shui World?"
It seemed every ingrate had a talent for fanning the flames, and Zhou Yihang was no exception. With a face flushed red, his angry rebuke backed Yi Tianji into a corner. How could he maintain his standing if he didn’t retaliate? Indeed, with those words, for the sake of his pride and the honor of all Fortune Tellers, Yi Tianji no longer had any reason not to seek revenge.
Qin Fan, however, was completely unfazed by Zhou Yihang’s attempts to escalate the conflict. He looked at Zhou Yihang with pity and shook his head with a scornful laugh.
"I not only dare to hit him, but I dare to hit you, too. Who the hell do you think you are?"
With that, Qin Fan swung his hand without a moment’s hesitation.
SMACK!
A heavy slap landed squarely on Zhou Yihang’s face. The sound was enough to make one wince. Zhou Yihang was sent flying, spitting out several bloody teeth as he hit the ground.
"Qin Fan, you’re courting death!" Enduring the burning pain, Zhou Yihang reflexively scrambled back to his feet and shouted, his words whistling through the gaps where his teeth had been.
"Mr. Qin, what’s going on? Is everything alright?"
Just as Zhou Yihang finished shouting, a surprised voice cried out from behind Qin Fan.
Ye Jizong and Lai Zhuge, having noticed the commotion, were rushing over, their expressions grim to the extreme. From the Ye Family’s perspective, Ye Jizong knew he had to intervene in a matter involving Qin Fan, no matter what.
At the sight of the two newcomers, the complexions of Zhou Yihang and Yi Tianji turned pale with terror. In alarmed cries, they stammered, "L-Lord Ye?"
"M-M-Master Lai?"
