The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 378 - 368: I Make You Kneel Before Master Qin! (10)
「Southern Country Manor」
Inside the elegantly rustic private room, Qin Fan and his two companions were well into their meal, having finished several courses and three rounds of drinks.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
At that moment, someone tapped carefully on the tightly closed door.
"Come in!" Chang Yuanyi called out after wiping his mouth with a napkin.
SNAP!
The door swung open. A bald man, his legs seeming to float with excitement, strode in. His face was a mask of pure elation as he boomed, "Young Master Chang!"
However, his shout died in his throat when he saw the man seated at the head of the table. The bald man looked as if he’d been struck by lightning, his face instantly turning ashen.
Those features, that smile, that face... It was a visage he relived in his nightmares.
How could it be him? How could he be dining with Young Master Chang! No, no, I must be seeing things. I must be!
At the sight of that face, his prior elation shattered completely. The bald man screamed internally, blinking over and over, hoping the face was just an illusion.
"Stop blinking. You’re not seeing things," Qin Fan said with a playful smirk, his eyes fixed on the bald man’s horrified expression. "It’s me. The one you’re looking for."
"Kneel down!" Chang Yuanyi ordered, letting out a sharp breath right after Qin Fan spoke. Unsure of how Qin Fan wanted to deal with the bald man, and acting out of a misplaced sense of loyalty, he still wanted to try and save the man’s life. After all, this was the fiend who had gone to Old Madam Qin’s birthday banquet in Jiangzhou with a grand red coffin and literally angered her to death. What was a minor street thug like this bald man in comparison? Whether he lived or died was entirely up to Qin Fan.
Overcome with panic, the bald man heard Chang Yuanyi’s command and, with a heavy THUD, instinctively fell to his knees right in front of Chang Yuanyi!
"Idiot! I told you to kneel to Master Qin!" Seeing the bald man kneeling before him, Chang Yuanyi’s face flushed with shame. Being associated with such a moron was a humiliation!
Kneel to Master Qin? Master Qin! The ’Master Qin’ that Young Master Chang just mentioned?
BUZZ!
With that realization, the bald man’s mind went completely blank. His entire body froze.
SMACK!
Seeing the bald man’s lack of response, Chang Yuanyi grew even more agitated. A wave of exasperation washed over him as he lashed out with a kick.
"I fucking told you to kneel to Master Qin!!!" he roared again.
"Ah! Oh! Oh!!" At that moment, the bald man finally broke, tears welling in his eyes. Kicked back to his senses, he scrambled on his knees to face Qin Fan. His sturdy body trembled uncontrollably as he cried out, his voice choking with sobs, "Master Qin, Master Qin! I was wrong, I was wrong!"
As he shouted, he slammed his palms on the floor and kowtowed deeply in Qin Fan’s direction.
THUD!
THUD!
Dull thuds echoed on the floorboards. Just as the bald man was about to kowtow a third time, Chang Yuanyi kicked him again. "Stop! Don’t fucking do it a third time! With an intellect like yours, it’s a miracle you’ve survived this long in the underworld!"
"Tsk, tsk, Young Master Chang, what if that child had been born? You’d be this fellow’s brother-in-law. Can you imagine that?" Ma Yunbin chimed in, thoroughly enjoying the drama.
"Cough, cough! Young Master Ma, that’s—that’s not possible!" Facing Ma Yunbin’s teasing, Chang Yuanyi reined in his temper, looking extremely awkward. His encounter with the bald man’s sister had been a two-night stand at most, just a way to blow off steam while drunk. Marriage? An alien invasion of Earth was more likely!
Amidst Ma Yunbin’s playful silence, he turned to Qin Fan and said respectfully, "Master Qin, the man is here. How would you like to handle him?"
"Master Qin, why not just kill him? A menace with dragons and phoenixes tattooed all over him will only cause trouble for the Human World. It would be cleaner to just deliver divine justice," Ma Yunbin said with a smile before Qin Fan could even answer.
Not knowing Ma Yunbin’s personality, Chang Yuanyi had no idea he was just bluffing to scare the man. His brow furrowed instantly. If Qin Fan really wanted the bald man dead, all he could do was offer him up.
"No, no, please don’t! Please! Master Qin, I was wrong, I was wrong! I didn’t know you were Young Master Chang’s honored guest! I was blind. I was wrong. Please! Please spare me!"
Hearing talk of "divine justice," the bald man felt death closer than ever before and began to scream. He lifted his hands from the floor and started slapping his own face.
SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!
The sounds grew louder with each strike, but the bald man felt no pain. Although Chang Yuanyi had called his survival a miracle, he understood one simple truth: a man whom even the esteemed Young Master Chang had to respectfully call ’Master’ could kill a gangster like him as easily as slaughtering a chicken.
"I hear you recently sent men to wait outside the school, ready to grab us the moment we came out. You even spread word that you’d storm the campus to take us by force, is that right?" Qin Fan asked with a faint smile, ignoring the man’s self-flagellation.
WHOOSH!
At those words, the bald man, already on the brink of a complete breakdown, felt a hot surge pulse through his lower body. He barely managed to hold it back at the last second. His bloodless face was now a mask of pure, quivering terror. His hands stopped slapping his face as he prostrated himself once more.
He began kowtowing heavily again. "Master Qin, spare me! Please, spare my life! I was arrogant and ignorant. I was reckless and didn’t know my place. Master Qin, a great man like you doesn’t concern himself with the faults of lesser men. Please, spare my life!"
He was openly weeping now. The bald man, once an imposing figure in the Jinling underworld, could no longer withstand the suffocating fear of death. With his gleaming bald head pressed to the floor, he cried and begged for mercy.
CLATTER!
Qin Fan stood up from his chair.
He said to the bald man, "Stand up and speak."
"Yes, yes, yes!" With the crisis not yet averted, the bald man’s limbs were cramping so badly he could barely get to his feet.
"Because of the rumors you spread, my brothers were too scared to take a single step off campus. You terrified them so much they considered dropping out and running away. Brother Baldy, tell me, why should I spare you?" Qin Fan asked mockingly, his hands clasped behind his back as he stared at the man’s shiny head.
THUD!
Hearing this, the bald man’s cramping legs gave out completely, and he collapsed back to the floor.
"Master Qin, spare me! I’ll apologize to your brothers! No, I’ll kowtow and beg their forgiveness! I’ll bear the rod, yes, I’ll bear the rod and go kowtow to beg their forgiveness! Please, Master Qin, show mercy and spare this dog’s life!" The bald man was so terrified he was completely incoherent, his wails filled with tragic desperation.
HUFF!
Qin Fan let out a breath that was part mockery, part scorn. He shook his head and finally said, "If they can forgive you, you live. If they hold a grudge, you die."
"Thank you, Master Qin! Thank you for this chance!" Seemingly seeing a glimmer of hope, the bald man swallowed past the lump in his throat and began kowtowing again.
"Get lost!" Qin Fan snapped with a derisive snort.
Upon hearing those words, the bald man reflexively looked toward Chang Yuanyi.
"Master Qin told you to get lost. Can’t you understand him?"
"Yes, yes, Young Master Chang!"
Feeling like he had just taken a round trip through Ghost Gate, the bald man, bathed in the dawn of survival, scrambled out of the room.
Yes, he crawled.
His limbs, still seized by cramps, could no longer support him to stand and walk. And he didn’t dare linger for a single second longer in this place where his life had been decided.
