The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 369 - 359: Fu-ck, Speak Human Language! (1)
When Qin Fan, dressed in casual attire, high-fived the freshman from dorm 709 and stepped onto the court, the entire venue was stunned! Even the student council member who was hastily picked to referee was dumbstruck!
Holy shit! What the hell is going on?
He wasn’t on the substitute list—but that was understandable. The freshmen team didn’t have substitutes to begin with. They had barely cobbled together five players thanks to the threats and bribes of Brother Qiuzhe from the Northeast. But substitute issues aside, he was going to play in casual clothes? Was this a joke?
Then again, it made a twisted sort of sense. In everyone’s eyes, this was a suicide mission. With this lineup, how could they possibly win? Besides, if the opposing team found out Qin Fan was the perfect-score champion, they would definitely go for blood, given the notorious dispositions of the Japanese, Koreans, Indians, and those arrogant Americans.
A hundred-point difference? No! Two hundred was a damn possibility! A freak who could get a perfect score on the college entrance exams was also a sports champion? What a joke! Did they really think people were possessed by Immortals?
「On the sidelines.」
Jiang Yino, Xu Jiayi, and two other girls from dorm 306 were in the crowd. When they saw Qin Fan appear, they were all stunned. This elusive Divine Dragon of a guy, who seemed to have evaporated from the Human World, had just suddenly reappeared after more than twenty days?
"The Great God has gotten even more handsome!" Ou Mingsi said, her eyes sparkling as she watched Qin Fan on the court, her clasped hands resting under her chin.
"There you go, fawning again!" Jiang Yino laughed, seamlessly breaking out of her own astonishment.
"Don’t just say Mingsi is fawning; I am too! If he confessed to me, I would accept him without a second thought!" Du Ruanqing, who had once bluntly rejected Wei Yuxuan, the vice president of the Taekwondo Club, in the campus cafeteria, chimed in with a laugh. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Yeah! I’d accept too, if he wanted! I-I could even book a room and wait for him! After we graduate, we’ll get married and have our own little baby. Wouldn’t life be blissful? It’s sweet just thinking about it!" Ou Mingsi fantasized, her eyes glued to his figure with zero inhibition.
Hearing this from the side, however, Xu Jiayi couldn’t help but snort coldly to herself.
Her? And them? Daring to fantasize about being with Qin Fan? They should go take a look at themselves in a puddle of piss.
"Stop, stop! That’s going too far! You can joke around, but don’t make jokes that degrade yourselves, okay?" Jiang Yino said, patting Ou Mingsi on the rear in a corrective manner.
"Hey, Yinuo, don’t just say it’s a joke! Believe it or not, as long as the Great God doesn’t remain so elusive and actually stays on campus, the number of girls—freshmen and upperclassmen alike—fantasizing about him and wanting to confess could form an enhanced regiment with soldiers to spare. On top of that, the number of girls willing to undress and wait for him in a hotel room could give him a different partner for every single day of the year, with no repeats! Do you believe it? Because I sure do!" Du Ruanqing chuckled earnestly.
The faint look of infatuation gradually faded from her face. She was self-aware enough to know that a man like Qin Fan was out of her league. To wallow in such fantasies would only be a form of self-torture, like a fan obsessed with a celebrity. No matter how desperately she swooned, they would always belong to two different worlds.
"Whether I believe it or not is unimportant, and it has nothing to do with me. Even if he sleeps with every girl in the school, that’s his business," Jiang Yino said with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
Her mind flashed back to what Qin Fan had told her over twenty days ago. Although she was reserved and valued her self-respect, and she wasn’t the type to be easily swayed by a few words, his confession—"The ’her’ I was talking about is you"—still made her budding heart flutter uncontrollably, especially coming from a boy like him, even if they barely knew each other.
"So, what if the Great God confessed to you? Would you accept him?" Du Ruanqing, who had always suspected there was something between them, pressed further.
At these words, Xu Jiayi, who had been silent, turned to look at Jiang Yino nervously.
"I can’t say about the future, but right now, I wouldn’t. No matter how outstanding he is, he’s still just a classmate I’ve only known for a short time. I admire him, but that doesn’t mean I would worship him blindly," Jiang Yino replied with utmost rationality.
She followed up with a relaxed smile, changing the subject. "Alright, why are we wasting time on such hypotheticals? We should be analyzing whether the Great God’s presence can actually turn the tables!"
"He absolutely will! That so-called Alliance Army is about to have an existential crisis," Xu Jiayi, who had been quiet until now, finally spoke up.
Her voice, however, carried a certain cold, aloof quality that caught Jiang Yino and the others off guard. Realizing she had made them uncomfortable, Xu Jiayi cleared her throat and let out a dry cough. Shedding her proud demeanor, she said with a charming smile, "Based on my understanding of him, he wouldn’t get on the court unless he was one hundred percent confident."
"Then let’s wait and see!" Jiang Yino said, her gaze returning to the court.
「On the court.」
After Qin Fan subbed in for the freshman, the referee turned to the Alliance Army players. He asked in fluent English, "The freshmen team has no substitutes, so Qin Fan is stepping in. Do you have any objections?"
The five opponents were taken aback.
Qin Fan? The legendary perfect-score champion from this year’s cohort?
"He’s the freshman who got a perfect score?" the Japanese player responded in English, astounded.
"Yes, that’s correct," the student council member acting as a temporary referee confirmed.
Upon hearing his opponent was the perfect-score champion, the Korean player became agitated and burst out with a stream of unintelligible Korean, stunning the other members of the Alliance Army and baffling Li Qiuzhe’s team.
"FUCK! Speak human!" Li Qiuzhe barked, rolling his eyes.
"Fine by us! More than fine! I just hope the perfect-score champion doesn’t end up crying later!" the Korean player retorted with a sneer. "In Huaxia, all the high-achievers are just bookworms who can’t do anything else! Not like us Koreans; we always balance our studies and athletics! Since he wants to play, fine! We’ll grant his wish, *smitda*!"
"You...!"
Insulted by the Korean player, Li Qiuzhe’s short fuse was lit once again. Seeing this, Qin Fan quickly reached out and stopped him. "Calm down. These Koreans are all the same. Let him run his mouth for now. We can play with him later."
With that, Qin Fan turned to the other players on the opposing team. "Do any of you have an objection?"
"No, no, no! We just hope you’ll stick around to finish the game instead of finding an excuse to run away after a few minutes. That would be so boring! Haha! Wouldn’t you guys agree?" the hawk-nosed American, clearly the leader of the group, said with a laugh directed at his teammates.
"YES! YES!" Eager to figure out how to humiliate Huaxia’s perfect-score champion, how could they pass up such an opportunity? The players all agreed with gleeful mockery.
In their eyes, a perfect-score champion? With that scrawny body, he’d be absolute trash on a sports court! They could toy with him however they wanted, abuse him however they pleased! The thought of grinding the famous Huaxia perfect-score champion into the dust sent a thrill of pleasure through these bastards, who held a deep-seated disdain for Huaxia’s students.
