The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 339 - 329: Unity is Strength! _2
Her heart was in turmoil. Was that really her? Was I truly the girl from Qin Fan's dream? No, this was simply unbelievable, a fairy tale beyond imagination!
Regardless, she was truly rattled. For a pure, innocent girl in her tender years, it was simply impossible to remain composed. Unconsciously, she had overlooked Xu Jiayi, choosing instead to believe the story Qin Fan had told about the boy and the girl.
Watching Jiang Yino's flustered retreat, Qin Fan smiled a knowing, satisfied smile.
"Unity is strength!"
"This strength is iron, this strength is steel!"
No one knew that the academic prodigy, Qin Fan, had just taken a monumental step forward in his pursuit of the girl, all while the sound of their singing echoed on. They gradually left behind the insecure instructor, whose face was pale and legs were trembling. At the same time, they were getting closer and closer to the military training registration point.
"What's going on? Why are they straggling back? Where's their instructor?"
In the open area of the registration point, several instructors looked on in confusion at the returning members of Class Seven.
"Damn it! Don't tell me they've stirred up some trouble!" The officer in charge of the instructors knit his brows, swallowed hard, and muttered to himself before quickly jogging toward the approaching class.
"Everyone, stop singing for a moment!" the officer shouted with a frown as he reached them.
At the sight of the rank on the officer's shoulder, all forty-odd students fell silent.
"Where is your instructor?"
"He was voted out!" a student declared.
"What? Voted out? Who voted him out?"
The officer was completely baffled, his expression freezing as if he'd been turned to stone. What kind of nonsense was this?
"Our whole class voted him out! That guy is no good! He's devious and sly, and we don't want to train under him anymore! Sir, we request a new instructor. Please approve it!" The same student who had spoken before took a bold step forward and announced with his head held high.
"Devious and sly?"
"He's full of dirty tricks! During our run, he suddenly screamed 'Halt!' and startled all of us so badly that nearly the entire class fell down! Then, he tried to pick on our classmate Qin Fan. When Qin Fan spoke up for justice, the instructor kicked him out of the squad. He even kicked out our class monitor! We couldn't take it anymore, so we all quit! Sir, that man is no good! Your team of instructors is subpar; their quality is seriously lacking!" the freshman rattled on, unfazed by the officer before him and speaking in a rapid-fire, thick northeastern accent.
"What? Is what you're saying true?" the captain asked.
"I'm the class monitor. What he said is true," Yao Jianjia stepped forward and added. "We refuse to accept an instructor of such poor character."
"Alright, all of you, come with me. We'll confront him about this. If what you've said is true, I promise I'll give you a proper resolution!" the captain declared, his face grim and his voice resolute. With that, he took off his cap, smacked it against his palm, and put it back on before striding briskly toward the training grounds.
"Academic Prodigy, Class Monitor, should we follow this captain?" the student asked.
"Follow!" Qin Fan and Yao Jianjia responded in unison.
Don't follow? If we don't, it'll be treated as deserting the training. The consequences of that would be huge. Qin Fan and Yao Jianjia themselves might not care, but they couldn't encourage these new students to be so reckless.
Only after hearing their two leaders agree did the rest of the freshmen turn and follow them back. Seeing this, several other instructors trailed behind as well.
Back at the training grounds, the captain spotted Wang Qiang, the instructor who was supposed to be in charge of Class Seven. From dozens of meters away, his face red with fury, he bellowed, "Wang Qiang, get your ass over here!"
Hearing the furious shout, Wang Qiang's limbs began to tremble violently. Terrified as he was, he didn't dare hesitate for a second and immediately scrambled over.
"Sir, your orders!" Wang Qiang managed a feeble salute, his voice weak and his face pale.
"I'm asking you," the captain demanded, already seeing the answer in Wang Qiang's expression, "did you or did you not deliberately startle these freshmen with a sudden command, causing them all to fall?"
"Yes, sir!" Wang Qiang admitted, breaking out in a cold sweat. "I... I didn't think they'd be so weak. I was just trying to test their reaction time! I never expected them to fall!"
"You just had to pull a stunt, didn't you! You just couldn't help yourself!" The captain's breath came in ragged bursts of anger. He lashed out, kicking Wang Qiang squarely in the stomach.
With a dull THUD, Wang Qiang collapsed to the ground.
"Don't you think for a second I don't know what you're up to! I know about what happened to you back in the day. Are you trying to get revenge now? Revenge on these students? And another thing, you've pulled this kind of stunt in recent years, haven't you! I've already heard complaints about your poor conduct as an instructor several times, but I gave you chances again and again! Can't you have a shred of self-awareness? Or do you just want to pack your bags and go home? Fine! I'll grant your wish. Get out! Get out right now!
"As of this moment, you are officially removed from this term's list of instructors! And on top of that, you can wait for the punishment from the higher-ups when you get back!" the officer roared, his voice full of anger and bitter disappointment.
Punishment from the higher-ups?
Hearing this, Wang Qiang panicked. The color drained from his face, leaving it a deathly gray. No, this couldn't be happening! He was insecure—insecure about his own failures, insecure about being relegated to training university freshmen. He had wanted to find some sense of superiority in the process, to make the students both admire and fear him. He never thought he'd screw it up so badly. If he had to pack his bags and leave, the only thing he could be proud of back in his mountainous hometown would be gone forever.
Driven half-mad by his insecurity, Wang Qiang couldn't accept this reality.
"No, I was wrong! I was wrong! Give me another chance, please, give me one more chance!" Scrambling up from the ground, Wang Qiang grabbed the captain's arms, swallowing repeatedly as he choked out his pleas. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"Just go back for now," the captain sighed, his voice thick with disappointment for a subordinate who refused to live up to his potential. He had no more to say.
On the verge of tears, Wang Qiang suddenly spun around to face Qin Fan and the other students. "I'm sorry! I was wrong! Please, can you forgive me? I wasn't thinking straight; my mind went blank for a moment! I'm sorry! Please let me continue as your instructor, please!"
Hearing this, the captain remained silent. If the freshmen were willing to let this go, there might still be a chance for Wang Qiang. But if they insisted, he would have no choice but to go home and await his official notice. No matter what, Wang Qiang was one of his men, and the captain hated to see things come to this. But as much as he hated it, what could he do? He couldn't bring himself to cover for him.
"This isn't the first time you've treated freshmen this way. Your actions are proof enough of your flawed character. Your internal affairs have nothing to do with us, but you've certainly proven you aren't qualified to be an instructor. Every pitiable person has a detestable side. I don't accept your apology. However, that's just my personal opinion," Qin Fan said with a shrug, his face impassive. "It doesn't represent the whole class. You can ask them."
An apology? Forgiveness? Both are pointless. People crippled by insecurity all have one thing in common: the moment a wound scabs over, they forget the pain. But no matter what he thought, it was, as he'd said, just his personal opinion. It didn't represent the entire class. In the end, the minority would have to yield to the majority, and he had no intention of forcing the issue.
