The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 320 - 313: Sorry, Child! (3)
"Are you an idiot, or do you take me for one? Sell you the furnace for twelve billion? In your dreams. How can you be so adorably naive?"
With a teasing smile, Qin Fan looked at the infuriated Yao Jianjia.
Sell something he bought for twenty billion for only twelve billion? Indeed, no one would be that foolish.
Yao Jianjia finally seemed to grasp the situation. "Fine, I won't let you take a loss!" she proposed. "Sell it to me for twenty-one billion! That's a one-billion profit for you. But I only have twelve billion right now. Can I owe you the remaining nine billion?"
"First, do I look like someone who needs a billion or two? Second, do you really think I'd let you owe me nearly half the price?" Qin Fan continued to jest.
"You bastard! What do you want, then?" Yao Jianjia clenched her delicate fists.
"Give up this unrealistic idea. It's impossible for you to have the furnace," Qin Fan said, shaking his head. With that, he turned as if to walk away.
Knowing that Yao Jianjia is a new student here is enough. Besides, the auras of those two unlucky fools aren't nearby, so they've likely returned to Medicine Valley. It seems the prelude to my Medicine Valley trip can finally begin!
Not giving Qin Fan a chance to leave, the moment he moved, Yao Jianjia indignantly shouted, "Bastard!" again. She then ran in front of him, spreading her arms to block his path.
"If you don't give me the furnace, you're not going anywhere!" she cried out with childish determination.
"Trying to throw a tantrum with me? Even your two lackeys couldn't stop me. What makes you think you can? Know when to quit, and don't embarrass yourself." Qin Fan couldn't help but feel amused by her naive behavior. With a final word, he sidestepped her and changed direction.
"If you have the guts, then hit me! Hit me right here!" Seeing her plan was failing, Yao Jianjia once again moved to block his path. This Third Miss of Medicine Valley, with her rather superficial understanding of the world, was determined to wear Qin Fan down.
"Is this ever going to end?" Qin Fan took a deep breath and sighed helplessly.
"No! Not until you give me the furnace! Never!" Yao Jianjia huffed, puffing out her cheeks.
However, when she saw Qin Fan's expression slowly turning grim, she backed down. Putting on a tearful, sobbing voice, she pleaded, "Big brother, you're a good person. Can you please give me the furnace? Please? Pretty please?"
"You're just missing a few actual tears," Qin Fan said, shaking his head with a wry smile.
"Oh!" the Third Miss Jianjia responded. Then, to Qin Fan's utter astonishment, she quickly licked her fingers and dabbed at the corners of her eyes.
"Damn it!" Qin Fan couldn't help but curse. He had no patience for dealing with this champion among idiots.
With a ghostly movement, he dodged around Yao Jianjia and broke into a jog.
"Bastard! Don't run! You can't get away!" behind him, Yao Jianjia shouted in frustration and chased after him without a moment's hesitation.
「Not far away, in a small grove.」
A young man's facial muscles twitched, and a cold look settled on his detestable features.
"There can only be one man in Jianjia's world. See to it that he dies," the young man said, his voice laced with venom as he glared in the direction Qin Fan and Yao Jianjia had run.
"Young Master, isn't this too hasty? This—" A middle-aged man behind the youth smacked his lips, finally unable to hold his tongue. Ordering someone's death over a slight disagreement—wasn't that a bit extreme?
"What did you just call me?" the youth snorted, turning his head with a hostile gaze, his voice dripping with arrogance.
The middle-aged man trembled. "Young Master! This servant was wrong!" he stammered fearfully.
"Since you know you were wrong, do I need to teach you how to do your job? Or perhaps, how to kill someone?" The youth's voice grew colder, his tone laced with impatience.
"Yes, Young Master! This servant will go at once!" Cold sweat beaded on the middle-aged man's face as he responded without another moment of delay.
"Get out of my sight! Either he doesn't see tomorrow's sun, or you don't. The choice is yours," the young man declared. With a flick of his hand, he walked out of the sparse woods and strolled leisurely in the direction Yao Jianjia had disappeared. He knew she would eventually come back this way.
「In the small grove.」
The middle-aged man sighed helplessly. Faced with a choice between someone else's death and his own, he could only choose the former.
I'm sorry, my boy, the middle-aged man muttered to himself, before quickly vanishing from the grove.
「Meanwhile.」
The distance between her and Qin Fan grew wider and wider. Seeing that she had no hope of catching up, Yao Jianjia finally gave up. Staring at his retreating, slightly thin figure, she raised her small fist to eye level and gritted her teeth. "You bastard, you won't escape the palm of my hand! You'll never escape! As long as you have my furnace, this will never be over! We'll see who can outlast whom! Hmph!"
Qin Fan's appearance on the Jinling University campus had all but confirmed for Yao Jianjia that he must be a student there. With that knowledge, she was determined to wear him down until he finally gave in to her demands. It must be said, the Third Miss Jianjia was being incredibly naive again. And incredibly, adorably so.
With a final huff, she turned around, disgruntled, and started back the way she came. But after only a few steps, she suddenly froze. Her face was a mixture of surprise and shock.
"Miao the Third! What are you doing here?" she exclaimed, staring at the familiar face.
"Haha! Jianjia, didn't I ask you to call me Haohao? Stop with the 'Miao the Third,' it doesn't sound very nice," the young man from the grove said with a helpless, wry smile.
"No! I'm going to call you Miao the Third, whether you like it or not!" Yao Jianjia retorted with willful cheekiness.
"Fine, fine! Whatever you say. Since it's you, Jianjia, I have to answer to whatever you call me," Miao Haohao said with a resigned smile.
"You still haven't told me what you're doing here! Don't tell me you came to study here too!" Yao Jianjia said.
"What else? Haha, that's right, I'm also a new student at Jinling University this year! We can keep each other company now!" Miao Haohao replied with a crafty grin, a stark contrast to his demeanor back in the grove.
"I don't want to keep you company!" As she spoke, she saw Miao Haohao continuing to walk toward her and suddenly panicked. "Stop! Stop right there!"
"What's wrong?" Miao Haohao asked, looking bewildered.
"Do you still have those damn things on you? I think I can smell their disgusting scent!" Yao Jianjia took two steps back, pointing at Miao Haohao in alarm.
"Ah, my bad! Look at me, I forgot you were afraid of those things. Alright, I'll get rid of it." As he spoke, Miao Haohao blew a few strange whistles. A tiny spider crawled out from behind him, its slender legs scurrying quickly across his back and into the palm of his hand.
"No! If you let it go, you could harm someone! It would be a disaster if it bit somebody!" Yao Jianjia shook her head frantically.
"Then I'll just crush it," he said with a laugh.
Miao Haohao casually flicked his wrist, tossing the spider to the ground. He raised his foot, stomped down hard, and ground it into the dirt.
SIZZLE!
An unsettling sound erupted as Yao Jianjia's expression changed once more. The Spider Gu, which Miao Haohao had nurtured with his own Essence Blood for three years, was reduced to a pile of mush.
All because of one remark from Yao Jianjia. All because of a single sentence from the Third Miss of Medicine Valley.
