"Are you really Qin Fan? The top scorer with the perfect score? You're not pulling my leg, are you?" the senior asked, having rushed out from the registration window while fumbling for his phone.

If this guy is a fake and I post about the perfect-score top scorer on my Moments, it won't be flexing, it'll be making a fool of myself! Better to be absolutely sure and avoid that kind of embarrassment.

"Why do you ask how I got here?" Qin Fan countered, arching an eyebrow instead of answering the senior's question.

"You don't know?" The senior was taken aback by Qin Fan's question, his expression turning strange.

Could this really be an impostor using a fake name?

"What do you mean?" Qin Fan asked.

"If you're really Qin Fan, the top scorer with the perfect score, you don't need to register here for a dorm. The university has already prepared a private on-campus apartment for you! It's an unprecedented honor at Jinling University, an absolute top-tier privilege. By now, pretty much everyone at the university knows about it, except for maybe some of the new freshmen. If you're really him, you should be talking to the university's administration to get everything arranged, not coming to the freshman registration desk. You really didn't know about this?"

The senior grew even more suspicious of Qin Fan's identity. His gaze shifted, and the excitement on his face curdled into a complex expression.

Damn it! Did I really fall for a fake? No, it's not 'did I'—I definitely fell for a fake! Shit, I've been played! Thank God there's no one else around, or this would have been a massive embarrassment!

This thought soured his mood, and he glared at Qin Fan with indignant hostility.

"I didn't know. But I don't need it, either. Come on, just help me register. Is there still a spot in Building C, Room 708? If so, please assign me there."

Qin Fan knew the perfect score he'd accidentally gotten had set off a butterfly effect, but he had no need for the special privileges that came with it. In his past life, besides Yinuo, he'd had his brothers. During his four years of university, besides the love he found with Jiang Yino, he also experienced true brotherhood for the first time with the three rascals from Room 708.

Even though they didn't do very well for themselves after graduation, they were absolutely loyal to Qin Fan. He vaguely remembered one night when they were all drunk. Fueled by liquid courage, the three of them had even planned to go and kidnap Du Tiancong. Although Qin Fan had strongly refused, not wanting to drag his brothers down with him, he never forgot their ride-or-die loyalty. He would remember it forever.

Now that I've been reborn, how could I forsake that brotherhood? How could I abandon Room 708 and the brothers who would have lived and died with me?

"Wait, what's your name again? You don't give an ID number, yet you're requesting a specific dorm… What the hell, man! No freshman is this cocky!" the senior said, completely bewildered.

"Didn't I just tell you? Qin Fan. Here's my admission letter." Unfazed by the senior's bewilderment, Qin Fan held out his admission letter with a harmless, sunny smile.

Holy shit! This—!

Staring at the admission letter, the senior was completely stunned.

Is he really that freak of nature who went nuts and used a perfect score to get into Jinling University? But… why would he turn down a private apartment arranged by the school? Why choose Jinling University just to squeeze into a dorm room with other students? Damn it, this guy is completely unpredictable. He treats the things other people dream of like they're garbage?

"So, you're... you're sure you want one of the regular dorm rooms?" the senior stammered.

"Building C, Room 708. Could you please arrange it for me? Thanks," Qin Fan confirmed with a nod and a simple smile.

"Alright, alright!" the senior said, turning to head back to the window. But he suddenly stopped, as if remembering something, and walked back to Qin Fan. Throwing an arm over his shoulder, he quickly whipped out his phone and opened the camera. "Prodigy, come on, do me a favor and smile for a couple of pictures, okay?"

To this, Qin Fan could only offer a helpless smile as he faced the camera.

CLICK. CLICK. CLICK. The camera shutter went off in rapid succession.

"Okay, you got your pictures. Can you arrange my room now?" Qin Fan said, shaking his head with a wry smile.

"You got it, no problem! I'll take care of it right now. Normally, this is against the rules since the university already arranged a private apartment for you, but since you're the one asking, Prodigy, I'll bend the rules for you this once! Just promise you'll speak up for me if I get in trouble for this," the senior said, pocketing his phone sheepishly.

"Don't worry!"

As Qin Fan gave a reassuring nod, the senior returned to the window. After a flurry of typing on the keyboard to enter the information, he called out, "All set. You've been assigned to Building C, Room 708. You can move in anytime!"

"Thanks!" Qin Fan smiled, then, carrying his flimsy backpack, he headed for Building C, navigating the campus with the ease of his past life's memories.

However, the moment he left, Xu Jiayi, who had been standing with her back to him, stepped up to the registration window.

"New student registration. Xu Jiayi," she announced, her voice cool.

After getting a good look at Xu Jiayi, the senior who had just taken pictures with Qin Fan started boasting with a lecherous grin, "Hey, junior, can I add you on WeChat? That way you can ask me anything you don't understand. Not to brag, but people call me Mr. Jinling Know-It-All! On this little patch of university land, there's nothing I don't know!"

Her cool demeanor suddenly melted into an easygoing smile. "By the way," she asked slyly, "which dorm was the girl just before me assigned to?"

"Why do you ask?" The senior was puzzled. "Do you know each other?"

"Not at all! I just thought she seemed really nice. Senior, could you maybe pull some strings and put me in the same dorm as her? I know the assignments are supposed to be random, but I bet you guys have the power to make them… not so random, right?" Xu Jiayi giggled, blinking her captivating phoenix eyes. "I know you're a nice guy, Senior. Come on, pull up your WeChat QR code. I'll scan it right now!"

"Haha! You saw right through me! Of course, no problem! Senior will get it done for you. Here, here's my QR code!" Charmed by Xu Jiayi's playful attitude, the senior laughed obsequiously. He quickly pulled out his phone and displayed his QR code on the desk for her to scan.

With a soft DING, the senior eagerly confirmed the friend request. Then, as if he'd been shot full of adrenaline, he began typing furiously on the keyboard.

"All set, Jiayi! Building H, Room 306. Here's to a wonderful and sweet start to your university life! Let's chat on WeChat soon, okay?"

"Thank you, Senior! You're a great guy! See you later!" Xu Jiayi licked her lips with a coy smile, then turned and pulled her suitcase toward the women's dormitories.
