The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 21: Meeting Gift? Not really! (Please favorite, please recommend!)
THUMP, THUMP, THUMP...
The moment Ye Jizu finished speaking, a series of hurried footsteps sounded from behind him, all within the coverage of Qin Fan’s Divine Sense. Sensing the approaching person, Qin Fan was slightly taken aback.
The old man practicing Tai Chi Fist by the shore of Qingling Lake is Ye Jizu’s father? The renowned Ye Congjun, a name celebrated throughout the high society of Lingnan? 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
In his past life, Qin Fan had heard that Ye Jizu was Ye Congjun’s son, but he had never had the chance to see the man’s face. Given his status as a scion of the Qin family, meeting regional magnates should have been commonplace. But alas, he was an outcast. Even before being thrown out, he was the most despised and detested member of the Qin family. Under such circumstances, how could he have possibly attended functions where he might meet a magnate of Ye Congjun’s caliber?
Now, in Ye Congjun’s presence, he couldn’t help but recall their encounter at Qingling Lake. A strange, teasing smile crept across his lips.
If this were his past life, he would have been thrilled and filled with endless reverence at the prospect of meeting Ye Congjun. But now, as the returned Shura Venerable, Ye Congjun? He was nothing in his eyes.
"Father, Father, you... you’re here!"
Amidst Qin Fan’s cryptic smile, Ye Jizu watched Ye Congjun run toward them, drenched in sweat, and cried out. At that moment, he was like a frightened child, a fledgling eagle desperate for his parent’s protection.
"Master Qin, my foolish son failed to recognize a great man and offended you. I hope you can find it in your heart to be merciful and spare this scoundrel this once!" Ye Congjun stammered, stumbling to a halt near Qin Fan. Without even glancing at his son, he bowed deeply and respectfully, his head dripping with sweat.
Facing a Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm, his heart was about to leap out of his chest. Capricious, decisive, dismissive of rules, and fearless of consequences—these were the labels often attached to Transformation Realm Grandmasters in the Martial Arts World. In this situation, he was genuinely terrified that Qin Fan might obliterate Ye Jizu with a single move.
Master Qin? ’You’? Merciful?
Hearing Ye Congjun’s terrified and reverent voice, Qin Fan felt a complex mix of emotions that eventually turned into a soft, arrogant scoff.
"Well, well. So you’re the famous Elder Ye of Lingnan," Qin Fan said slowly, turning to face the trembling old man with a mocking tone. "Are all the scions of the glorious Ye Family such arrogant, pretentious frauds?"
"Master Qin, please, just call me Little Ye. To be called Elder Ye by you... you’d be cursing me to an early grave!" In the face of a Grandmaster he had offended, how could Ye Congjun dare to accept such a title? After frantically expressing this humble, age-defying sentiment, he continued, "Master Qin, it’s my failure. I didn’t discipline him strictly enough, which led to the younger generation of the Ye Family becoming so insolent and unruly. It’s all my fault, all my fault!"
"Insolent is right. He demanded one of my eyes and one of my hands, and then ordered me to get out of Mountain and Water Manor. Hah..." Qin Fan glanced at the terrified Ye Jizu and shook his head in derision.
Demand an eye and a hand from a Transformation Realm Grandmaster? The thought almost made Ye Congjun collapse on the spot. The fact that Ye Jizu is still alive after showing such disrespect is a miracle!
His body began to tremble even more violently. "That wretched boy is courting death!" he exclaimed.
With that, he put on a righteous facade of punishing his own family. Bending down, he picked up a golf club and stumbled quickly over to Ye Jizu. He raised the club and brought it down hard on his son’s body.
"You beast! I’ll beat the arrogance out of you!"
"You scoundrel! I’ll beat the pride out of you!"
"You wretched beast! I’ll teach you to ignore the Ye Family’s rules!"
"I, Ye Congjun, have lived an upright life! How did I end up with a disaster like you, who doesn’t know his own limits!"
Each shout was followed by the dull thud of the golf club striking Ye Jizu’s body. Through the repeated blows, Ye Jizu didn’t dare make a sound, merely gritting his teeth and enduring his father’s powerful strikes.
He knew Ye Congjun was trying to save him!
But if he knew, how could Qin Fan not understand? Qin Fan had seen through Ye Congjun’s ploy from the start. He let out a soft chuckle and shook his head, thoroughly annoyed by this good-cop-bad-cop routine.
"Alright, that’s enough. Stop," he said plainly.
Ye Congjun subconsciously froze his swing and turned to Qin Fan, asking nervously, "Master Qin?"
"On account of your name, Ye Congjun, I’ll spare his life," Qin Fan said leisurely.
"Thank you, Master Qin! Thank you! A great man like you doesn’t concern himself with the offenses of a lesser man!" Ye Congjun said, his old eyebrows trembling as he suppressed his joy.
"Don’t be so quick to thank me. The death penalty may be waived, but the punishment is inescapable. One leg will do."
Without giving the father and son any time to react, Qin Fan finished speaking and suddenly moved. He lifted his foot, imbuing the arch with True Qi, and swept it in a powerful kick toward Ye Jizu’s kneeling thigh.
Under the immense and boundless invisible force, the kneeling Ye Jizu was thrown high into the air as several faint cracking sounds echoed. By the time he hit the ground, a mouthful of sweet, fresh blood sprayed uncontrollably from his lips.
He struggled to get up, but his right leg had lost all feeling and strength. As he pushed up with his left leg, his right leg gave way, and he collapsed heavily back to the ground.
Qin Fan gave a cold snort. He brought his right thumb and middle finger together, condensed a Primordial Energy Pearl, and flicked it directly at Ye Jizu’s ruined right leg.
