The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 194 - 191: Auntie, You’ve Aged Gracefully!
「June 2nd.」
Children’s Day had just passed, and only five days remained until the college entrance exams. It had also been two days since the slaying of the Blue-eyed Wolf.
But Qin Fan, who hadn’t given the matter a second thought, was completely unaware of the sensation the Blue-eyed Wolf’s death had caused throughout Huaxia and beyond. The credit he passed on to Ye Jizu, however, caused Old Master Ye’s prestige to soar. Although no one believed Old Master Ye had any direct connection to the creature’s death, everyone was certain a powerful master capable of such a feat stood behind him. Otherwise, how could Ye Jizu have received the credit? The favor Qin Fan had done for Ye Jizu was unwittingly profound.
Oblivious and uninterested in these matters, Qin Fan took a rideshare to Triumph Palace just before nightfall. However, as he stepped out of the car and approached the revolving door, he was immediately stopped by two security guards.
"Sir, please show your invitation," one guard said with a smile, his expression unchanging despite Qin Fan’s less-than-luxurious attire.
"Invitation? What invitation?" Qin Fan was stunned. Damn it, you need an invitation for this place?
"Yes, sir. This venue is different from ordinary clubs, and there’s a special event tonight, so it is not open to the public. We are only accepting guests with invitations. If you don’t have one, then I’m afraid we can’t let you in," the other guard explained, maintaining the same robotic smile.
Hearing this, Qin Fan gave a resigned, wry smile. He was certain that even if the Ye Family were a hundred times bolder, they wouldn’t dare to put him in such an awkward position. The only explanation was that they had forgotten, which made sense. Given the grand entourage Old Master Ye and Ye Jizu traveled with, who in all of Jiangzhou City would dare ask them for an invitation? They must have been used to it.
He didn’t waste any more words on the guards. With a slight smile, his figure flickered and vanished completely from their sight.
"Wh-where did he go?"
Their vision blurred for an instant. The guards quickly turned to look inside, but there was no trace of Qin Fan.
"What was that? Where’d he go? Did we just see a ghost?"
At this, both men shivered. They exchanged a look and wordlessly agreed to never speak of this again, as if it had never happened. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
After flashing into the building, Qin Fan used his Divine Sense to locate the floor where the cocktail party was being held, then darted into an elevator just as the doors slid shut.
"Pardon me for asking, but are you here for the party as well?" a wealthy socialite inside the elevator raised her eyebrows and asked doubtfully.
"What else?" Qin Fan chuckled, shaking his head at her peculiar gaze.
"How come I’ve never seen you before? Which family are you from?" the woman pressed, her eyes sweeping over Qin Fan’s plain clothes.
"The Qin Family’s outcast, Qin Fan," he replied with a slight grin.
A man’s reputation precedes him. Who in Jiangzhou’s high society didn’t know the name Qin Fan? But this spineless loser has an invitation to get in here? H-How is that possible?! Since when does Jiangzhou’s high society let in an infamously cowardly reject like him?
Her initial skepticism instantly morphed into utter disdain.
"Do you have an invitation?" she asked coldly, taking a step back from Qin Fan and covering her nose and mouth with her hand.
"Nope," Qin Fan responded casually, sizing her up with an amused look.
"You snuck in?"
"Is there a problem?" Qin Fan shrugged, unconcerned.
"Hmph! Take my advice and get lost. This is a gathering for Jiangzhou’s high society, not something just anyone can attend. Know your place, and you might avoid humiliating yourself," the woman said, her eyes filled with disgust.
Hearing her long-familiar words, Qin Fan’s expression remained unchanged. In that instant, however, his gaze turned somewhat wicked as he slowly scanned her body from head to toe, and then back up again.
Under his lecherous stare, the woman grew flustered. But then she remembered Qin Fan’s infamous reputation as a coward, and her panic turned to rage. "What are you looking at!" she roared. "Keep looking and see if I don’t gouge your eyes out!"
"Keep running that foul mouth of yours, and see if I don’t strip you naked," Qin Fan retorted. He glanced at the surveillance camera in the elevator before circling around her, planting a hand on the wall to box her in.
"Y-You, what do you want?" Seeing a Qin Fan who was nothing like the rumors described, the woman was truly panicked now, her voice trembling in alarm.
What do I want?
Hearing her, Qin Fan smiled. But in the woman’s eyes, his smile was utterly vile.
He raised a finger and gently traced a line down her cheek. "Auntie," he said at last, "you’ve kept yourself in good shape."
Auntie? For a moment, she forgot her fear, her eyes blazing with fury. She was only twenty-eight. Though she had married into a wealthy family and become a young matron, being called "Auntie" by Qin Fan unleashed a uniquely feminine rage.
"Don’t test my limits with that mouth of yours. I wasn’t joking when I said I’d strip you. Heh heh."
With a flippant laugh, Qin Fan backed away.
Just then, the elevator arrived at the party floor. The moment the doors opened, the woman scrambled out. She ran to the entrance of the grand banquet hall before stopping abruptly and screaming at the security personnel stationed outside, "Damn it, stop that piece of trash behind me! He doesn’t have an invitation! He snuck in! Stop him!"
Her shout echoed through the open doors of the banquet hall, startling everyone inside. People immediately turned to look toward the entrance.
No invitation? He snuck in? Instinctively, a wave of alarm spread through the crowd as they assumed he had malicious intent. But when they saw the figure calmly strolling forward, most of them froze.
The Qin Family’s outcast, Qin Fan? It’s him?
"Sir, please present your invitation, thank you," two security guards in black suits said with a smile, stepping forward to block Qin Fan’s path.
"I don’t have one. The Ye Family sent me," Qin Fan stated calmly.
"The Ye Family? Which Ye Family?" The smiles vanished, replaced by frowns.
"How many Ye Families are there in Jiangzhou?" Qin Fan countered with a smile of his own.
His words made the two guards recall their earlier instructions from their superiors. Although they hadn’t been told who to expect, this man’s confident and calm demeanor, coupled with his mention of the Ye Family, gave them a jolt. Could it be that our superiors were talking about him?
"Miss Ye?" one of the guards asked, testing the waters, his eye twitching.
"Hm? Ye Xuan?" Qin Fan raised an eyebrow and nodded. "I suppose so."
"This way, sir. Please!"
Their smiles returned as the two guards bowed slightly and gestured for him to proceed.
Qin Fan licked his lips playfully but said nothing more. As the two guards stepped aside to make way, he strode into the hall.
Everyone in the banquet hall was stunned by the scene. They let him in? They actually let Qin Fan in? Damn it, what did he say? What is Triumph Palace playing at, letting this loser inside?
