The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 108 - 105: Just Kidding!
"Mom!"
Seeing the young matron’s stunned expression, Ji Yuchen’s heart lurched. She quickly stepped away to put some distance between herself and Qin Fan, her heart pounding as she called out again.
"Ah, yes, yes—!" Yan Huixian finally snapped back to reality, answering several times in a row. She let go of the cake trolley for the nanny to handle and walked toward Ji Yuchen.
"Yuchen, happy birthday! Come, let Mom give you a kiss!" As if she hadn’t seen Qin Fan fastening the Green Bead Chain around Ji Yuchen’s neck just moments before, Yan Huixian cupped Ji Yuchen’s flawless, exquisite face and planted a kiss on her cheek.
"Mom, stop it! So many people are watching!" Ji Yuchen protested, her pretty face blushing crimson. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"What’s the big deal? You’re my daughter, my sweet, caring girl. What’s wrong with a little kiss?" Yan Huixian laughed charmingly, dismissing her concern.
"Hello, Auntie!"
"Hello, Auntie!"
Following Yan Huixian’s words, the students all chimed in with greetings.
"Auntie Yan, you look younger every day!" Ge Yabing, standing beside Ji Yuchen, temporarily ignored Qin Fan to compliment her mother.
"It’s true! Auntie Yan, if you and our Goddess Ji were walking down the street together, people would definitely mistake you for Yuchen’s older sister. And a sister who’s only two or three years older, at most! I’m so envious!" Xu Jiayi chimed in, sidling up to Yan Huixian and familiarly linking her arm with a wink.
"Listen to you two. Must you exaggerate so much? Alright now, stop teasing your auntie!" Yan Huixian scolded them playfully, tapping Xu Jiayi on the nose. Her gaze then fell upon the Green Bead Chain around Ji Yuchen’s neck. She smiled faintly and asked, "Yuchen, who gave you this necklace?"
"I did, Auntie. Is there a problem?" Qin Fan stepped in before Ji Yuchen had to struggle with an answer, replying with a relaxed smile.
"No problem at all! It’s lovely. I like it too. Classmate, do you have another one? You should give one to me as well! That way Yuchen and I can have a matching set, like sisters!" Yan Huixian replied with a magnanimous laugh.
Her flirtatious and charming demeanor made some of the guys’ hearts pound. But after hearing her words, everyone was dumbfounded.
Goddess Ji’s mom actually thinks that worthless piece of junk is pretty? And she even asked Qin Fan to give her one? What the hell! Is the world going crazy? Since when did street stall junk become so sought-after?
"Mom, what are you talking about!" Ji Yuchen’s face burned even hotter as she exclaimed in a fluster. At that moment, even she was completely baffled and couldn’t make sense of it.
My mother would never say something like that! She wouldn’t even make this kind of joke. What in the world is wrong with her today?
"Haha! I’m just kidding! But if your classmate here really were to give me one, I certainly wouldn’t refuse, haha!" Displaying an exceedingly cheerful personality, Yan Huixian chuckled and playfully tapped Ji Yuchen’s nose. She then reached out, her fingers gently caressing the Green Bead Chain around Ji Yuchen’s neck.
But inwardly, the sight of the Green Bead Chain sent thousand-foot waves crashing through her heart!
"You’re too kind, Auntie. I’m lucky that Yuchen was willing to accept this worthless trinket. I wouldn’t dare embarrass myself by giving one to you," Qin Fan said, skillfully giving Yan Huixian an out.
At the same time, his own curiosity about Yan Huixian’s identity was piqued. That initial glance she gave the Green Bead Chain had betrayed her. She’s clearly an expert who recognizes its true value! Recognizing the Green Bead Chain might not be difficult for collectors of Magic Artifacts, or even for Fortune Tellers and Magicians. But Yan Huixian was a woman—a beautiful, wealthy one at that! That’s what surprised him.
"Am I the one joking, or are you? Alright, let’s not talk about that anymore! Auntie Wang, bring the cake over! Let me make a wish with my precious daughter!" Yan Huixian said, her words a playful double entendre as she skillfully took the out and changed the subject.
Hearing this, the nanny, Auntie Wang, who was standing behind her, quickly pushed the cake over.
The candles were placed and lit. Under the moonlight, to the sound of her classmates clapping and singing the birthday song, Ji Yuchen stood beside her mother, her face alight with happiness as she clasped her hands together and made a wish.
With a soft puff, she opened her eyes and blew out the candles. The students erupted into cheers.
"Alright, Yuchen, have fun with your classmates. Mom’s going downstairs now, so I won’t disturb you all!" Yan Huixian, looking nothing like a young matron, spoke coquettishly. She dabbed a bit of cream on her finger, playfully dotted it on Ji Yuchen’s nose, and walked away with a graceful sway. As she passed by Qin Fan, however, the subtle, meaningful glance she shot him made him smile knowingly.
Looks like I’ll be having more dealings with Auntie Yan, Qin Fan thought with a wry, inward smile.
"Qin Fan, it’s Yuchen’s birthday today. We’re all here to have a good time. How about a drink? Or would you prefer to stick with tea and soda while the rest of us drink?" While Ji Yuchen and a few of her best friends were cutting the cake, Ge Yabing looked at Qin Fan and said with a cool smile. It seemed she was dead set on making him embarrass himself.
"Oh? Then let’s drink. Tea and soda are boring anyway. Let’s have alcohol. Whatever you want to do, I’ll take you on," Qin Fan replied nonchalantly, seeing right through their intentions.
"Great! That’s all I needed to hear!" Ge Yabing smirked, as if her scheme had succeeded.
Him? Take them on? Did he forget the beginning of the semester, when he was tricked into drinking three cans of beer at the school cafeteria and passed out?
But Qin Fan’s response was exactly what Ge Yabing and the others wanted to hear. They wanted him to make a fool of himself. They wanted Ji Yuchen to see this cowardly loser for who he really was.
"Qin Fan, I thought you couldn’t drink? Did you forget what happened at the school cafeteria?" Ji Yuchen, having finished cutting the cake, overheard and quickly interjected.
"It’s fine, don’t worry. I know my limits," Qin Fan replied with a reassuring nod and a smile.
Just then, a few male students started hauling cases of expensive bottled beer and pricey red wine onto a table.
"So, Qin Fan, how do you want to do this? We’ll all go with your decision. You call the shots," said Ge Yabing, who was known as Qi Middle School’s "Goddess of Wine" for her high tolerance.
"I call the shots, you say? Alright, let’s make it quick. We chug them, straight from the bottle. I’ll take on all of you by myself. Drink as much as you can, no pressure," Qin Fan declared.
What? Chug from the bottle? One against dozens? Is he trying to brag his way to the moon? Everyone at Qi Middle School knew the joke about how he had passed out and rolled on the ground after just three cans of beer. And now he was making such a bold proclamation? This is suicide!
"Alright, I’ll start with you!" one male student volunteered and stepped forward. He grabbed a 500ml bottle of expensive premium beer, twisted off the cap, and started chugging. A minute later, amidst a round of applause, he slammed the empty bottle down. "Your turn!"
Qin Fan shook his head with a mocking smile. He casually picked up a bottle and popped the cap.
In ten seconds, the bottle was empty.
"Want another?" Qin Fan asked the male student with scornful disdain.
"Bring it on!" Faced with Qin Fan’s contempt, the student was furious. If this was tolerable, what wasn’t?
He wouldn’t need anyone else’s help; he was going to take down this coward—the laughingstock who passes out after three cans—all by himself!
