The Retired Young Mercenary Is Secretly a Billionaire-Chapter 234: Bar!!!
The noon sunlight stretched across the driveway of Pearl Villa as a sleek black car slowly approached the main gate.
The security system recognized the vehicle instantly and the gate opened smoothly.
The car rolled inside the property.
Silvey Sterling stepped out a moment later.
She paused for a second and looked around.
Even though she had seen pictures before, standing inside the estate felt different.
The villa stood proudly in the middle of the vast property, surrounded by carefully maintained gardens, tall maple trees, and elegant walkways that curved toward the entrance like something from a royal residence.
The white walls reflected the sunlight while the tall glass windows shimmered faintly.
From the garden fountain to the distant tree line, everything carried a quiet sense of wealth and calm authority.
Silvey folded her arms lightly and looked around in amazement.
"Is this where you live?"
The front door opened.
Miles stepped out casually.
He looked at her and smiled.
"Silvey?"
She turned toward him, still glancing around the property.
"Is this where you live?"
Miles laughed softly while walking toward her.
"Didn’t you hire a private detective to investigate me earlier?"
Silvey chuckled.
"Yeah."
"But he didn’t mention this."
Miles shrugged playfully.
"Well."
He glanced toward the car.
"Where is your assistant?"
Silvey walked beside him toward the entrance.
"She is handling my work back in Citadel."
She sighed slightly.
"Grandfather said I cannot come back until I solve this issue."
Miles pushed the door open.
"Well do not worry."
He spoke calmly.
"It is only a minor situation."
He stepped inside while continuing.
"Trust me."
"ACE Finance will soon be proven innocent."
He glanced back at her with a confident look.
"And while doing that we will expose some of the biggest scandals happening in Star Harbor over the past years."
His tone became colder.
"Previously I was not interested in interfering with government matters."
"But if government officials and private businessmen join hands to disrupt us..."
"...then we will remove them from this city entirely."
Silvey looked impressed.
"You already found the people behind it?"
"That’s impressive."
Miles smiled.
"Come on."
"Let’s go inside."
They entered the house together.
Before they could walk further two small figures ran across the living room.
Hope and Asher rushed toward them excitedly.
"Big sister Silvey!"
Silvey laughed warmly and crouched slightly.
"You two are growing up fast."
She gently ruffled their hair.
Then she stood up and noticed Daniel standing nearby.
"Hello uncle."
Daniel smiled warmly.
"Hello dear."
"Welcome."
He chuckled lightly.
"Last time we met we didn’t even know you were a relative."
Silvey smiled politely.
"Sorry about that."
She glanced at Miles teasingly.
"Brother Miles never introduced me properly."
"So I said nothing."
Miles raised his hands defensively.
"Wait."
"What?"
"It’s my fault now?"
Daniel laughed loudly.
Just then Elena walked in from the kitchen wiping her hands with a towel. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Welcome dear."
Silvey smiled immediately.
"Hello Aunt Elena."
Elena approached her kindly.
"Was your journey comfortable?"
Silvey nodded.
"Not difficult at all."
Elena looked at her outfit and shook her head gently.
"Make yourself comfortable."
"Today is Sunday."
"Why are you still wearing business clothes?"
She turned toward Hope.
"Hope."
"Show big sister Silvey her room."
Hope nodded excitedly.
"Yes mama."
Silvey smiled warmly.
"Thank you Aunt."
Elena smiled back.
Hope grabbed Silvey’s hand and pulled her toward the stairs.
Upstairs her luggage had already been placed neatly in the guest room by the house staff.
Meanwhile downstairs Elena looked toward Miles.
"Do not make the guest uncomfortable."
Miles shook his head.
"Uncomfortable?"
"They teased me first."
He pointed toward the stairs.
"She is a Sterling after all."
Daniel laughed again.
At that moment Monica walked out from the study room holding a tablet.
"Did I miss something?"
Miles pointed toward the staircase.
"She just arrived."
"Went upstairs."
Monica nodded calmly.
"Then it is time for her to relax."
Miles looked at her carefully.
"Is everything taken care of?"
Monica gently ruffled Asher’s hair.
"It is already all over the news."
She picked up the remote and turned on the television.
The news channel appeared immediately.
The anchor spoke while footage of the ACE Finance branch played on screen.
"A short while after the Financial Crime Department entered the ACE Finance branch, a group of the city’s most prominent legal team arrived at the location."
The footage showed several well dressed lawyers entering the building confidently.
The anchor continued.
"For viewers who may not know, this is the same legal team that represents Sterling Enterprises."
Minutes later the footage showed FCD officers exiting the building.
A reporter quickly approached one of the executives.
"Officer."
"Officer can you tell us what is happening?"
The officer spoke briefly.
"We received an anonymous tip regarding illegal transactions within the premises."
"We have obtained the necessary data from the branch."
"The company has cooperated fully with our investigation."
He continued.
"The legal team has now presented a court order."
"The next stage will proceed in court."
"Until then we will analyze the data and investigate those responsible."
"Thank you."
He walked away quickly.
The anchor turned back toward the camera.
"So as you just heard..."
Upstairs Silvey had stepped out of her room while speaking on the phone.
She was receiving the same update directly from her own team.
"Yes."
"I understand."
"Send me the full report."
"Alright."
The call ended.
She took a deep breath.
Hope looked at her curiously.
"Are you okay?"
Silvey smiled softly.
"I am fine."
She glanced downstairs where Miles was sitting calmly.
"Your big brother is amazing."
Hope nodded proudly.
"I know."
"He is the best brother."
They walked downstairs together.
Silvey greeted Monica politely.
"Thank you everyone for the support."
Miles waved his hand casually.
"No need to thank us."
Silvey nodded.
"We already released a statement to our clients."
"We told them not to worry."
Miles leaned back confidently.
"Good."
"The trial will be public."
"We will expose everything in court."
Daniel grinned.
"That will be fun to watch."
Elena clapped her hands gently.
"Enough business."
"It is settled now."
She smiled warmly.
"It is time for lunch."
Monica laughed happily.
"I have been waiting for that."
....
By early evening the house had grown quiet.
Elena and Daniel had already left for the Atelier. Sundays were always the busiest evenings at the restaurant, and they preferred to personally oversee things when the place was packed.
Hope and Asher had insisted on going with them.
They loved watching the lively atmosphere of the restaurant, and Elena never had the heart to refuse them.
So the large villa felt unusually calm.
Inside the living room Miles adjusted the sleeves of his jacket while Monica checked something on her phone.
Silvey stood near the window looking curious.
"So," she asked while tying her hair back slightly, "where are we going?"
Miles picked up his car keys.
"A bar."
Silvey’s eyes lit up instantly.
"Really?"
"That sounds fun."
Monica laughed softly.
"But you don’t drink, boss."
Miles shrugged.
"Yes."
"I won’t."
"But you all can enjoy."
He walked toward the door.
"I called June and April."
"Flora and Dion are coming too."
He smiled faintly.
"That sounds like a good Sunday relaxation."
Silvey grabbed Monica’s arm excitedly.
"Let’s go, sister Monica."
"We are going to have fun tonight."
Monica shook her head with a smile.
"Alright."
"Let’s go then."
A short while later the car drove toward downtown Star Harbor.
The city had begun glowing under evening lights. Streets were busy with weekend crowds, neon signs reflecting off the polished roads.
Eventually the car slowed near one of the most popular nightlife spots in the district.
A stylish bar that had become a favorite among young professionals and university crowds.
The parking area was already crowded.
As they stepped out of the car two familiar figures waved at them.
Flora and Dion had just arrived.
Dion walked over first.
"Well well."
"I didn’t expect to see the boss at a bar."
Flora smiled warmly.
"This is rare."
Miles gestured toward the entrance.
"Let’s go."
Inside the bar the atmosphere immediately wrapped around them.
The interior was vibrant and modern.
Warm amber lighting illuminated polished wooden floors while neon strips glowed faintly along the walls.
A long marble counter stretched across the center of the room where bartenders moved quickly mixing colorful drinks.
Soft jazz mixed with electronic beats filled the air, creating a relaxed but lively mood.
Several lounge areas surrounded the dance floor where groups of people laughed and talked over drinks.
Above the main hall a VIP balcony overlooked the entire bar, its glass railing reflecting the lights below.
It was stylish without being overly loud.
The perfect balance between luxury and casual nightlife.
At one of the corner tables June and April were already waiting.
June raised her glass slightly.
"You’re late."
April smiled.
"We already started."
Drinks were ordered.
Cocktails for most of them.
Miles simply asked for juice.
Then suddenly a voice came from behind them.
"Well well."
"Look who is here."
Miles turned around.
Celina stood there.
Beside her were Becky and Rose.
Miles raised an eyebrow slightly.
"What a surprise."
Becky folded her arms teasingly.
"The secret chairman who never drinks..."
"...is in a bar."
Rose laughed.
"That’s the real surprise."
Celina smiled mischievously.
"Exactly."
"I invited him to bars many times."
"He always refused."
She looked around the table recognizing everyone.
"Hello everyone."
"So is this an office gathering or something?"
Flora chuckled.
"You could say that."
"We were surprised when Miles invited us."
April nodded.
"Yeah."
Meanwhile June kept calmly sipping her drink while Silvey watched the entire conversation with amusement.
Celina crossed her arms dramatically.
"No fair."
"Miles."
"If you come to bars you should invite us too."
Miles raised his hands lightly.
"Alright."
"Just don’t get captured by criminals inside a bar."
Rose and Becky exchanged a quick look.
The memory of the Paradise Club incident flashed through their minds.
Celina laughed.
"That brings back memories."
Dion raised an eyebrow.
"What’s that about?"
Celina grinned.
"It’s about him being a hero."
"And beating the bad guys to save us."
Flora leaned forward curiously.
"That sounds interesting."
"Hero always saves the day."
Dion shook his head.
"I still can’t believe you got to experience college life like that."
Celina raised her glass dramatically.
"Tonight we drink."
"Miles is here to save the day anyway."
Rose lifted her glass.
"Yes."
The music grew louder as the bar slowly filled with energy.
Everyone laughed, talked, and enjoyed their drinks.
But Miles was no longer paying attention to the table.
His eyes had shifted toward the entrance.
Four men had just walked inside.
They spoke quietly to the manager before heading upstairs toward the VIP balcony.
Miles watched them carefully.
Then he stood up calmly.
"You all enjoy."
"I’ll be back in a moment."
Monica sighed without even looking at him.
"I knew it."
Miles walked toward the counter and quietly paid for a VIP pass.
Moments later he was walking upstairs.
Inside the VIP balcony the four men had already taken a private table.
Geoffrey Barrington.
Dominic Cross.
Silas Blackwood.
Bennett Hayes.
Their glasses raised together.
"Cheers."
Dominic smirked while sipping his drink.
"The execution went perfectly."
Bennett leaned back comfortably.
"Next we deal with Sterling Enterprises."
"How dare they send legal teams to interfere."
Geoffrey nodded slowly.
"They are expanding too quickly."
"That’s dangerous for us."
Silas took another sip calmly.
"Then we deal with them soon."
At that moment Miles walked past their table casually holding a non alcoholic drink.
He paused slightly.
"Celebrating?"
The four men looked at him.
Then at each other.
Bennett frowned.
"Do we know you?"
Miles smiled calmly.
"Not really."
"But you will soon."
He lifted his glass slightly.
"Celebrating too early isn’t a good idea."
Silas narrowed his eyes.
"What did you say?"
Miles raised his drink casually.
"Nothing."
"The drinks are on me tonight."
"Enjoy."
Then he walked away.
Behind him the four men looked confused.
Geoffrey scoffed.
"What a strange kid."
They laughed again.
Meanwhile Miles walked slowly toward the far side of the balcony.
An almost sinister smile slowly appeared on his face.
