The Retired CEO's Guide To Being Spoiled-Chapter 283: The Uninvited Intruders
Upon hearing the report, Helen Lloyd’s sharply trimmed eyebrows immediately furrowed tightly together.
She pondered for a split second before waving her hand to signal Colin Grant, her eyes flashing with absolute decisiveness: "The plan has changed. Right now, I will take you back through the side door to head up to the top floor, and after that, you must immediately take the emergency fire escape stairs and run back down. You have to time it perfectly, wait for that rowdy mob to just arrive, then pretend to open the door and walk up from your own floor. You must create a fake scene showing that you have been constantly standing guard outside to protect the boss. Do you clearly understand my intention?"
Colin Grant gritted his teeth and gave a firm, heavy nod.
He thoroughly understood the extreme gravity of the situation, because prior to this, the entire reception staff had seen with their own eyes that he was escorting Ethan Caldwell up to his room. If he were to suddenly appear running in from outside the hotel’s main entrance right now, it would undoubtedly arouse an immense amount of suspicion, completely exposing a fatal flaw in all of their future justifications. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"They still have not grasped the information that I have arrived here to provide assistance, so I will continue to remain hidden in this position." Helen Lloyd continued, her tone distinct and allowing no room for error: "Once you have safely gotten into your position on the VIP floor, send a message to me. The moment I receive your signal, I will majestically walk in through the main entrance to deal with them."
Colin Grant nodded once again, cold sweat beginning to seep out on his forehead.
"Later on, when facing that mob of reporters, you just need to act furiously angry and resolutely stop them from causing a disturbance. But you absolutely must remember this crucial detail, your attitude must demonstrate that you are fully aware there is someone accompanying the boss inside his room, yet you are completely ignorant of that person’s true identity. As long as you execute this step flawlessly, you can leave the rest of the response to the boss, allowing him to open the door and handle it himself."
"But... has the boss regained his consciousness? Is he truly alright now?" Colin Grant asked hesitantly.
Helen Lloyd lowered her head and glanced over the glowing screen of the mobile phone in her hand. On the history section, it still clearly displayed the notification that the outgoing call from just a moment ago had been decisively rejected.
The only person who could press the button to reject her call at this particular moment was none other than Ethan Caldwell. She remained silent for a brief moment, carefully weighing the situation behind that tightly shut door, before finally speaking in a tone filled with underlying meaning: "Perhaps that is the case... Anyway, there is not much time left, we have to make the most of it and head up first."
Because this exclusive elevator system was set up with a strictly rigorous security mode, running straight up to the VIP floor without any authorization whatsoever to stop at any other intermediate floors, Colin Grant was forced to move at the fastest speed possible.
Right after the chime signaling that the elevator had reached the highest floor rang out, he immediately scrambled out at lightning speed, slipping his body directly into the pitch-black stairwell area. Colin Grant had to sprint down to his designated position before that aggressive mob could manage to press the public elevator buttons and reach the floor. In the opposite direction, Helen Lloyd had already pressed the button to return inside the exclusive elevator, allowing the cabin to swiftly descend in preparation for her own public appearance.
While the two of them were frantically making their preparations, the internal staff member whom Colin Grant had secretly planted at the reception area also silently blended into that noisy, chaotic crowd, his hand tightly concealing his mobile phone inside his jacket pocket to continuously update the real-time situation to their shared group chat.
The moment they stepped out of the elevator, the middle-aged woman with angular facial features, who claimed to be Gemma Thornton’s biological aunt, clearly revealed her domineering and overbearing nature. As soon as she reached the VIP floor, she waved her hand to issue orders, instructing the several burly men accompanying her to split up and take action. Some stood guard to block the elevator area, while others stood watch to seal off the emergency exit doors. Having finished arranging this airtight encirclement, she carried a face full of murderous intent and aggressively marched straight toward the deserted hallway, aiming directly at the luxurious suite of Ethan Caldwell.
Seeing the critical situation and realizing that she had the violent intention of breaking down the door to Ethan Caldwell’s room to storm inside, Colin Grant’s internal staff member immediately disregarded the danger and hastily rushed forward, spreading his arms wide to block her path: "Hey ma’am, please stop right there! This is the private resting suite of our hotel’s top-tier VIP guest. We absolutely cannot allow you to arbitrarily cause a disturbance like this!"
The woman glared fiercely, showing absolutely no respect as she gave him a forceful shove, her shrill, caustic voice echoing loudly throughout the entire corridor: "You little brat, get out of my sight! Do you even know who I am? Do you know what kind of status my brother holds? Let me tell you, no matter what kind of person is cowardly hiding inside this room, their background cannot possibly compare to even a fraction of my brother’s power and authority, do you understand?"
"Today, I must let the people of this entire country see the true face of that promiscuous slut! Damn it! My niece is the dignified heir to this entire billion-dollar empire, and she did not even mind that woman’s cheap, lowly status as a mere entertainer in showbiz, yet she still dared to go out and look for another man!"
"Motherfucker! She even has the audacity to fool around right next to my niece’s room! She truly is a shameless whore who does not know how to conduct herself! I already said it before, I cannot believe my brother actually accepted that worthless, low-class singer! I have no idea what he was thinking! The older he gets, the stupider he becomes!"
The middle-aged woman kept cursing wildly and incessantly, her grating tone echoing all over the originally quiet and luxurious corridor of the VIP floor. She frantically wanted to swing her arms and legs to break down the door, but how could the soundproof, solid oak door with metal trim of a high-end luxury hotel’s VIP suite be broken so easily? The group of people she had brought along, standing in a disorganized cluster behind her, were even more terrified of acting rashly or making a reckless move.
She had a powerful status backing her up and an illustrious family background protecting her, but when all was said and done, they were nothing more than a bunch of cheap paparazzi, relying on scandals to scrape up a bit of internet fame. If they blindly followed her lead and ended up destroying this incredibly expensive door, and the hotel decided to pursue liability and demand compensation, where on earth would they dig up that massive sum of money to pay for it?
