The Rebirth Of The Beast Tamer-Chapter 52: The Quest To Save Eryndor 2
Chapter 52: The Quest To Save Eryndor 2
Kelvin’s blade sliced the wyrm’s flank, Xerion’s flames weakened its core, and the construct dissolved. Torren’s nod was grudging but clear. "Your bond is strong, but a rogue beast is no construct so be ready."
Lyra approached with her amulet glowing faintly as she said. "You are sharp, Kelvin. We will be nearby if you need us."
Darius grinned, tossing a soulstone and said. "Yeah, don’t be a hero if it is too much, man."
Kelvin nodded with his heart pounding with a mix of fear and determination. "I will call for help if I need you."
------------
After the drill, Kelvin stood at the Obsidian Spire with his pack slung over his shoulder. His pack is filled with soulstones, rations and the suppression rune.
Master Kaelus awaited, his void panther prowling silently. Kaelus’s voice was low but commanding. "The rogue beast is a Level 7 Abyssal Ravager, a wolf-like creature warped by the Veil.
It’s terrorizing Eryndor is beyond the Sanctum’s wards. Subdue it and kill it only if you must. Your bond with Xerion is your strength, but your Novice rank is your weakness. Prove that you are more."
Kelvin’s gauntlet flared and Xerion’s fire surged. "I am ready, Master."
Kaelus nodded and said. "Take the eastern path through the Veil’s edge. A flat bottom boat awaits to cross you over the Mist moor. Go."
Kelvin turned with Xerion at his side and left the Sanctum’s gates, the weight of the mission was a fire in his chest. The eastern path goes through jagged cliffs, the air were growing colder as the Veil’s influence deepened.
Mist curled around his boots, and Xerion’s wings flared, his fire cutting through the chill. The journey was consuming his energy, the path were littered with jagged rocks and glowing vines that pulsed with soulstream energy.
Kelvin’s heart pounded with a mix of fear and resolve, his bond with Xerion was a steady anchor. Night fell, and he camped in a small cave, the Veil’s hum was a constant drone.
Xerion stood guard, his fire kept the air warm, and Kelvin checked his stats:
Tamer Rank: Novice (Unranked)
Beast Rank: SSS-Class (Mythic-Class) - Xerion, The End-Tyrant
Bond Strength: Harmonized Bond (High Stability)
Taming Sync Ratio: 42% - moderate instability risk
His synchronizing ratio had climbed, his stability stronger, but the mission loomed. He clutched the suppression rune, its glow was a faint hope.
The next morning, Kelvin reached the Mist moor, a vast swamp that is shrouded in fog, its waters are shimmered with soulstream energy. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
A weathered flat boat waited, its runic oars were pulsing. Kelvin and Xerion boarded, the boat glided through the mist which was guided by his gauntlet’s runes.
Strange shapes moved in the fog, a level 3 Mistwraiths, ethereal creatures with glowing eyes. One of them lunged and its claws grazed Kelvin’s arm, but Xerion’s flames dispersed it, their bond steadied his nerves.
Hours later, the boat reached Eryndor’s edge, a village of stone huts nestled in a valley, its fields scorched and its people were cowering.
The Abyssal Ravager’s howl echoed, a bone-chilling sound, and Kelvin’s heart raced. He disembarked, Xerion’s wings flared and approached the village elder, a weathered woman named Jara.
"You’re from the Sanctum?" she asked with her voice trembling. "The beast comes at night, burning our fields and driving us mad with fear."
Kelvin nodded with his gauntlet glowing as he said. "I will stop it. Stay safe."
Jara’s eyes softened and she said. "You are young, but your dragon’s fire gives me hope." Kelvin moved round the village outskirts, looking for tracks, claw marks were seared into the earth which pulsed with chaos.
In the night the ravager emerged, a Level 7 beast, its wolf-like form was massive, its fur was a writhing mass of shadow and crimson, its eyes glowed with chaotic fire. Its claws raked the ground, leaving molten trails, and its soulstream pulsed erratically.
Kelvin’s gauntlet blazed, his bond with Xerion surged. "We subdue it together, Xerion."
The ravager lunged with its claws slashing but Kelvin dodged, his soullight blade parried as Xerion’s flames countered the shadow.
The beast’s speed was blinding and its claws tore through his shoulder, emanating a searing pain that tested his bond’s stability. Blood soaked his sleeve, but he gritted his teeth and activated the suppression rune, its light dampened the ravager’s soulstream.
The beast staggered and its fire became dimm, but it roared and its shadow surged.
Kelvin wove a Convergence, his blade and Xerion’s flames stroke the ravager’s flank, drawing a cry from the beast. The beast’s eyes locked on him and targeted it’s chaos at Kelvin’s soulstream and immediately he felt a stab of fear an his synchronizing ratio wavered, a flicker of instability.
Xerion’s voice roared: "Hold fast, Kelvin, we are one."Kelvin pushed through, stabilizing his bond with Xerion and struck again, his rune slowed the ravager’s movements.
The villagers’ fear fueled his resolve, he wasn’t fighting for rank alone, but for their lives. The ravager’s tail lashed, knocking him into a tree and bruised his ribs but Xerion’s wings shielded him and their bond a blazed fire.
The battle raged, Kelvin’s blade and Xerion’s flames chipped away at the ravager’s chaos. The suppression rune was held, but the beast’s soulstream surged, breaking free, and it charged, its jaws aimed for Kelvin’s throat.
He dove, his gauntlet flared and struck the ravager’s chest, his rune embedded deep. The beast staggered and its fire faded and Kelvin leaped, his blade pierced its core and subdued it without killing it.
The ravager collapsed and its soulstream stabilized and Kelvin fell to his knees, panting, blood dripped from his shoulder and his ribs ached.
The villagers emerged, their eyes wide with gratitude, and Jara approached with tears in her eyes. "You saved us, tamer."
Kelvin managed a weak smile, Xerion’s fire was a warm pulse in his soul. "It is what the Sanctum is for." The return journey was grueling, Kelvin’s wounds slowed him.
He bound his shoulder with a cloth and leaned on Xerion for support, the subdued ravager’s core, a glowing orb—tucked in his pack.
The Mistmoor’s fog was thicker, and a Level 4 Shadow Serpent ambushed them, its coils striking. Kelvin’s blade parried, but his wounds screamed, and Xerion’s flames felled the beast with their bond unyielding.
Days later, Kelvin staggered through the Sanctum’s gates, bloodied but victorious, Xerion’s wings was drooping but proud.
Master Kaelus waited with his void panther sniffing the ravager’s core.
Lyra and Darius rushed forward, Lyra’s amulet glowed as she tended his wounds, Darius’s grin widened. "You are a mess, man," Darius said, tossing a soulstone.
"But you did it."Kaelus’s voice was approving. "You subdued a Level 7 rogue beast as a Novice and protected Eryndor. Check your rank."
Kelvin touched his gauntlet, his stats shifting:
Tamer Rank: Adept (Rank 3)
Beast Rank: SSS-Class (Mythic-Class) - Xerion, The End-Tyrant
Bond Strength: Harmonized Bond (Very High Stability)
Taming Sync Ratio: 58% - low instability risk
His rank had jumped to Adept, his synchronizing ratio soaring, his bond’s stability was a testament to his growth. Lyra smiled with her amulet glowing. "You have earned it, Kelvin." Kelvin’s chest swelled, exhaustion mingled with pride. "We are not done yet."
