Chapter 192: When A Monster Devours A Monster

Solin was pinned to the ground, his mind still trying to process how he got there in the first place. He couldn’t move his body. At first, he thought an invisible force controlled him.

But deep down, he knew... he was paralyzed by dread.

Kraven had his bloodied sword pointed at him. "A swift death is mercy..." he said, tilting his head to the side as his smirk got wider.

"P-Please... f-forgive me I..."

"A Hollow begs? I’m touched."

Solin shook more, for in that moment he knew he had crossed something beyond him. The bloodlust clutching the air almost choked him to death. Kraven appeared eerily calm, but it was a facade.

"Tell me, Solin... how does it feel to be eaten alive?"

"W-What?" he replied in horror. At this moment, it wasn’t unbelievable with the look Kraven gave him.

Kraven laughed, the twisted sound echoing through the air. "I’m not saying I’m going to eat you... Relax."

"T-Then what do you mean?"

Kraven licked his lips before responding. "Hollows love to feed, don’t they? That is what you were going to do with Isadora." His tone darkened the instant he mentioned the last part, his weaves becoming more bizarre and eating up the space around him.

"I-It was my m-mistake, I shouldn’t have touched your wife, forgive me!"

"You’ve mistaken me for a simple, angry husband," he mused.

"A-Are you n-not?" he dared to question.

"An angry husband will either break a few bones and beat you to death," Kraven chuckled, but then the amusement ceased as a menacing look morphed on his features. "But I’m an apex predator. I’ll gobble every inch of you until you cease to exist."

"No!" Solin howled, the sound deteriorated and feral, as the dark weaves seeped into him.

It didn’t just seep in—it ravaged.

Sinking under his skin like thousands of burning needles.

Slithering through the muscle, obstructing his veins, munching on bone.

It infested his organs and eroded his blood, twisting his very hollow soul into something unrecognizable.

Solin’s body convulsed violently, his abysm head pulsing chaotically, drowning out the sound of his horrific screams.

Isadora watched, terror-stricken and paralyzed, unable to peel her eyes away.

Solin clawed at his chest, his throat, anything... just to get rid of the darkness, but it was pointless.

Kraven remained still, watching... waiting. Making sure the feast was slow, so slow that by the hour, Solin had yet to be depleted.

Using the last of his strength, Solin tried to retaliate as his spikes shot out from his body.

Kraven remained unflinching as his dark weaves pulsed in alert and seized the spikes.

The mere contact of them made Solin wail more, everything crumbling to dust.

Isadora turned away, unable to take it anymore; she covered her mouth as the urge to vomit crawled through her throat.

Suddenly, his wails ceased. Isadora turned her head and found nothing left of Solin, not even a speck of dust.

The only thing that remained was his head.

Kraven leaned down to it and grabbed the head by the antenna before strolling toward Isadora.

Each crunch of his footsteps against the snow caused Isadora to flinch. Her insides screamed at her to run without looking back, but for some twisted reason, she remained seated on that spot.

There was still silver in his eyes. Even though the sclera was blackened, she still saw a glimpse of his sanity, but it made her wonder if there was any to begin with.

Kraven crouched to her, offering her the head with a grin displaying his full teeth. "A gift for you, love. Still warm."

Isadora took off her clothes, the bloodied material pooling at her feet. Releasing a sharp exhale, she stepped out of them, nearing the lake.

The soothing sound of the waterfall eased her body, but her mind had yet to recover.

She walked into the lake, submerging within, the warm water compelling her to moan.

Her muscles ached, and even though she had healed most of her wounds, her body was still reminded of the tension she had gone through.

"You started without me. I’m hurt."

Isadora turned in a heartbeat at the sudden gravelly voice. Kraven stood at the edge of the lake, naked.

"I-I wasn’t under the impression I should wait," she mumbled, her voice barely a whisper.

Her gaze leveled to his intimate area, her cheeks burning at the mere sight of the second dangerous part of him.

It still struck wonder into her how that thing could penetrate her.

"Hmm..." he mumbled, moving into the water, it rippled from his movement, forcing Isadora to set her eyes on the cuts around his body.

Kraven stopped in front of Isadora, eyeing her amusingly. "Or were you scared to have a bath with a monster?"

She swallowed a lump in her throat. "I just wanted to be alone."

"Should I leave?"

The response Kraven got was her rising to her full height, allowing him the sight of her divine breasts. He gazed down hungrily at them, ignorant of the fact that she had summoned her weaves to heal his wounds.

Isadora gasped when Kraven snatched her delicate neck, but he didn’t press down to hurt her, just a reminder of his dominating presence.

"Go on, love, say it to my face. Tell me how much you were sick, watching as I devoured Solin completely."

Her teeth clenched hard. "Solin got what he deserved. He tortured souls and condemned them to Hollows."

Kraven moved her close, the water splashing around them. "But we’re not so different, are we? I’m just another monster wrapped in Fae skin."

"My monster."

Kraven stilled at her words, telling himself he had heard wrong, but it was loud as day. "You weren’t so convinced when you saw me kill the denizens."

"I didn’t know the truth then."

"What if I had killed them, Hollows or not? Tell me, love, would I still be your monster?"

"I’ll stop you from doing it."

He chuckled at her bold declaration. "How in the olden gods’ name will you do that? Point a dagger to your throat?"

"It’s one of my many options."

His smile faded as he opened his mouth to speak, but he was interrupted when Isadora’s hands snaked around his neck and pulled him down for a kiss.
