Chapter 146: Welcome To The Ruling Council

Isadora stood before a large door, audibly gulping as she set her eyes upon it. Goosebumps found her skin as uneasiness discovered her body.

"Nervous?"

"Maybe?"

Logi chuckled at her reply. It was clear the girl was about to bolt if given the chance, yet she remained still.

"Fearless, little one," he said with a smirk. "I wonder how long you’d last though."

She had no idea what awaited and it only pumped Logi more as he thought of it. He was the only one who knew how Kraven’s mind worked after all.

"What awaits me behind that door, Logi?" she asked with a shaky breath.

"I won’t sugarcoat it."

"Then don’t." She faced him with stern eyes, eager to know what she was getting herself into.

What Kraven planned this time. Whatever it was, it couldn’t be good.

Logi shrugged. "Logically you’re not meant to be welcomed to the ruling council, it’s like throwing oil to the fire."

Isadora’s breathing hitched as she looked away.

"He’s pushing it." Logi mused. "I bet he enjoys the thought of your distress."

Isadors scoffed. "Typical of him, I don’t know if I should kill him or kiss him."

The moment those words left her mouth she instantly regretted it, cautiously turning to Logi and hoping he didn’t hear it but she was only fooling herself.

Logi on the other hand had a very broad grin plastered on his lips. "I’m sure he would enjoy both."

"I-I-I-I don’t mean that... I still hate him."

"Good tactic, it always works."

Isadora glared at him.

"That only makes him want you more." He winked.

Isadora was forced to roll her eyes. "What’s the point of this?"

"Simple... he’s using this as leverage to establish you"

"Establish?"

"You’ll see for yourself. Shall we? We shouldn’t keep them waiting."

"Them?"

"Of course... them." Logi walked ahead and pushed the large doors open, giving way for Isadora as he did a dramatic bow.

Isadora hesitated, her body screaming at her to run away without looking back. But her curiosity got the better of her. She was eager to know what Kraven had in store for her this time.

’I hope whatever it is, will make me hate him more,’ she thought, before stepping toward the unknown.

Isadora gasped the moment she laid eyes on the place. It was vast—with towering stone walls carved into the rocky mountainside like it was forged by the earth itself.

There were torches of flame lit on the wall to bring light to the place, reflecting on the polished stone floor.

A rectangular stone table was embedded with chairs in the middle. Rav, Nyssa, Logi, and Ekko were seated in their designated seats, their position clear before her eyes.

They weren’t just the Commanders of the Raven Court, they were the ruling council.

Feeling a piercing gaze on her small frame, her eyes dragged to the stairs leading up an imposing throne that was sculpted from the very rock, its back tall and jagged like the spine of a beast.

And seated on that throne was Kraven. Relaxed, elbow on the armrest, with his hand to his cheek, causing his head to tilt as he watched her with a grin plaster on his lips.

The eerily glow of his silver eyes seemed to shine more at the sight of her.

Isadora didn’t know how to feel as he looked at her like she was the only breathing being in the world and she did the same too, the rest of the company erased from her senses.

"Hello, love."

Isadora’s pulse raced.

"Come closer."

"W-What?" She voiced like an idiot.

Isadora grew more nervous and made a mistake by letting her eyes travel to the other company.

Rav was already on his feet, a look of surprise plastered on his features.

Ekko on the other hand... Had a hood on and dark fabric wrapped tightly around his face, resembling the burial wrappings of the dead, concealing all but his eyes.

She couldn’t tell what his expression was.

Logi was more amused by this and Isadora wanted to slap the smirk off his face.

And Nyssa... was not pleased. But she remained strangely calm while glaring at her with the force of a boulder.

Isadora peeled her eyes away from the imposing company, it was very clear she shouldn’t be in this place.

Was this what he planned? She does not belong here.

Isadora set her eyes on Kraven who waited for a response. He rarely does that.

With fists clenched to her sides, she walked to him, her boots echoing throughout the hall with each step she took.

Isadora stopped just at the stairs, her heart thundering faster than she could control and she was certain everyone could hear it.

"Closer." ƒreewebɳovel.com

She tensed at his demand, and he held her gaze more strongly than ever as if he wanted her to focus only on him and nothing else.

And so she did, taking the stairs until she was within arm reach.

The closeness.

Her scent.

Kraven’s mind spiraled in different directions, and the angry look in her eyes only entertained him more. He had expected her to be afraid or turn away but she looked more furious than the latter.

It was very pleasing.

Against his better judgment, he hadn’t seen her for a moon—Because his thirst was becoming harder to control and he’d yet to sate it.

Even now his body hummed to do the needful—cutting her open bit by bit until she became nothing but bones. He also desired the need to thrust into her as he heard her pleasant screams.

Gods! He missed the feel of her insides, the longing overtook the need to reap her soul.

He wanted her alive greater than he had ever wanted anyone, only to ruin her as he desired and put her back together until she became his own existence.

It would be a wonderful process.

But first, he needed to make a statement.

"Sit."

Isadora frowned, there was no spot for her. Where else was she supposed to sit then? The floor?
