The Reaper's Wicked Obsession-Chapter 139: Haunted Words & Actions
Chapter 139: Haunted Words & Actions
Gods! This Fae would be the death of her.
Why was he saying these things to her? Why was he making this difficult for her? How dare he speak as if he hadn’t set out to ruin her?
’Did he kiss you like you’re the only thing that mattered?’
’Whispering filth to your ears as your body sets on fire? Did it feel good when he couldn’t get enough as he kept going like a madman?’
Nyssa’s words haunted the darkest corners of her mind—the words drilling a black hole in Isadora’s chest.
’Don’t be too heartbroken, I’m sure he would call on you from time to time if you’re that good.’
Was this why he came to the training grounds? Not because she left but because he still hasn’t had enough? That explains the hunger in his eyes, that was it, nothing else.
He still needed a fresh body to taint! How long will he keep taking? He would leave her to her ruin when he’s done!
’And when he gets bored, do you know who he would seek? Who has stood by his side for winters without question?’
Isadora’s breath shuddered.
’Me.’
Kraven took a step closer.
"Stay away!" she yelled, taking a step back, trembling beyond control.
This caused Kraven’s irritation to grow more. She’d been doing this since he came to her.
Pushing him away as if her body hadn’t yielded to him, as if she hadn’t screamed his name at the top of her lungs.
He closed the distance again ignoring her demand and she responded by taking more steps back like she couldn’t bear to be within the same proximity as him.
"Stop that!" he snapped in a growl.
But she did it again and Kraven’s patience shattered as he once again ate the distance between them without a moment to waste.
Isadora’s back hit the wall.
Kraven chuckled knowing his little bunny was cornered, there was nowhere else she could hop away to. He reached to touch her but her words caused him to freeze.
"Don’t touch me!" She slapped his hand away. "I want to go home!"
"Why are you acting like this?" he demanded.
"What? Angry that your fresh body is finally awake?"
Kraven stared at her confused. ’Fresh body?’
"Stay away from me, Kraven!"
The tears threatened to fall. Just the sight of him made her hurt and being here made her remember what happened last night.
She didn’t want to remember, wanting to forget she ever gave herself to him, that she ever let her emotions control her. She wanted to regret everything.
Last night was a mistake. It should be a mistake.
"Stay away?" Kraven growled, angry and frustrated, his eyes giving a glow. "After your body yielded for me? After you trembled beneath me and you whispered my name like a prayer? No darling, you sealed your fate the moment you gave yourself to me."
Isadora’s lips quivered, her body hitting a state of temporary freeze.
How dare he say those words to her? How dare he?!
None of those words matter, he would still go back to Nyssa when he gets bored. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"Tell me to stay away again." Kraven dared. "And I want you to mean it." He ate up the distance between them.
Isadora reacted quickly, pulling her dagger from her holster and aiming it at her throat. "Touch me and I swear to the seven gods I’ll cut my throat." she threatened, her hand shaky as she held the blade close, determined to ward him off.
Kraven’s entire body froze the moment she did that, there was a sharp ringing to his ears as everything shook before his eyes and the image distorted momentarily.
Isadora was suddenly that woman. The one who carried him away from his parent’s chambers, the same one who slit her throat in front of him.
Kraven took a step back, his chest heaving in a slow labored breath. He glared at the steel dangerously close to her throat and even though Isadora had not moved the blade it did in his eyes.
She cut a line open in her delicate throat as the blood gushed out, stretching her hand to him in a voiceless struggle as blood spilled from her mouth.
Isadora stared at Kraven confused, it was unusual to see him like this, impossibly still and breathing heavily like he was on the verge of a panic attack.
The look in his eyes. ’No,’ she thought, doubting what she saw before her gaze.
It was fear. Kraven was afraid.
Suddenly he moved and Isadora panicked as she pressed the dagger closer but in fast reflex, Kraven pinned her hand against the wall causing the dagger to fall.
Isadora cried in pain because his grip was far too strong and almost crushed her wrist.
"L-Let me go, Kraven, let me—"
"Don’t!" He boomed, causing Isadora to go completely still.
Kraven’s body shook, not from cold or fear but from a deep unsated anger that rose to the surface like a storm.
"Don’t you dare do that again!"
Isadora’s breath shuddered as she searched his eyes for anything, but what she saw in them was something so raw it twisted her stomach.
"Don’t ever point a dagger to your throat... Do I make myself clear?"
Isadora couldn’t respond, the words wouldn’t form even if she wanted to. She was just too entirely consumed by this new emotion in Kraven’s eyes.
Kraven pulled away from her as if her body burned him, glaring at Isadora like he wanted to tear her apart with his bare teeth. The sclera of his eyes had already blackened, his powers responding to his rage.
His eyes descended to the faint red line on her neck, seeing it caused him to fum.
"Get out of my sight!" he seethed.
Isadora flinched, his words like a blade to her heart, for a minute she hesitated.
"Don’t make me repeat myself!"
Tears fell as she turned away, walking out without glancing back.
